  • Lau-warm star trouble with unround engine run and petrol smell from exhaust!

    Hello guys, I’ve been having the problem for a few days that my 850 Bj.96 2.0 with 126hp 10V starts badly with Hand-Lau-Warmen engine. He spins for a long time about 10 sec. until he comes and then runs extremely rough. When it first occurred two days ago he went out three times again! This morning he jumped again and I immediately gave a little gas because I noticed the spit immediately. When I opened the driver’s door he stank from behind extremely to fuel! And after 5 to 6 gas bursts he ran again. I have not ordered anything but distributor, candles, and distributor runners! Hopefully come Monday. Just look under the hood rough and first see nothing striking, Merder damage or defects vacuum hoses. Petrol pump runs as usual. Cold and hot he jumps quite normally. Do you have ideas where I should still check? Or is the way candles, distributor already right? I don’t know how old that is. In summer I drive W123, as second car we still have a golf in use (which could then be taken away). A friend of the V70 has taken the relevant dealer into payment; frame data: 2.5 10V, 10/1997, 265,000km, black, hand-scha service was made at the beginning of the year, timing belts at 242′ km, TÜV in October new. Basically and after extensive reading here should be a quite useful car (even though I liked the 850s better ). The interior is made of grey velour, I have not seen this so often yet, it is probably partial artificial leather. Was this on sale? And what about the sensitivity? Can someone provide me with a brochure as PDF or JPEG? x found. So the equipment could be represented a little bit or narrowed down.   • Investment in 96’s 850’s? Ideas for cruise control?

    Hello together A while ago, the official Volvowekstätte advised me not to even make an oil change and to look for replacement. Too big are the necessary investments. Since then, I have also travelled over in the V70III Forum and look around. But the 850 was a super car so far and I would like to follow this track further. I have already successfully treated the licking steering gear (ev only temporarily?) with LecWec. Now I was with an independent Specialists for older Volvos. I would have to expect about 2500 Euros (in Switzerland) to prepare him for the test. Also included would be the change of timing belts, WaPu (the old one is over 10j old) and a flushing of the machine. What do you mean? Is this worth for a twenty-year car (850 Kombi with 20V gasoline) with 330 Tkm? I have to say that I don’t drive 10Tkm a year anymore. So there won’t be too many of them over the next few years. As before, he would also have to take part in long holiday trips reliably. And then something else: the cruise control only works sporadically. When it goes, the control via the buttons in the turn signal lever works without any problems. But usually nothing happens if you want to use it. There is no difference according to outside temperature. I have tried to adjust the pedal switches already. So Zpfen joined pedal pulled out. No effect.   • Temperature display

    Yesterday I was on my way with my moose and was surprised that after about 3 km the temperature display did not make any movement. Also the heating, which usually starts after a short time, warmed only sparingly. After about 6Km the display jumped at once in middle position and everything was normal again. Today everything behaved as usual. Could this be an early sign of a coming defect?

  • USB adapter connected to SC 802

    Greetings, wanted to report how brilliant it is to be able to keep the original radio and still not to do without MP3 music. And that without losses like an adapter cassette or Fm transmitter. I have the SC 802 in my V70. Because of the optics, the sound and the quality of the radio I wanted to keep this, and still can play more than just cassettes. Of course this is easy with adapter cassettes and Fm transmitters, but first of all this always looks modest and z I bought a USB and AUX adapter last week. From YATOUR, for just 49,-€. And it is really the hammer. It is connected directly to the CD changer input and transmits the MP3 files to the radio without any losses. To the adapter can be connected a USB stick, an SD card or a third device (mobile phone, MP3 player etc.).With the third device of course again losses arise. Therefore USB Stick and SD Card are the first choice, which they are probably anyway. The adapter has a metal housing and is just as big as a cigarette box. And the best, thanks to the software, which is always designed for the jewalige radio, it can be easily controlled via the interface of the original Radiuos. So no extra power on or similar. It is simply recognized as CD changer and the files as CD ́s. Volume control, next tracks etc. everything about radio After switching off, he also remembers where he was stopped and plays exactly on the spot when he switched on again. I installed him on the “deck” in the glove compartment. So you don’t see any cables and he disappears completely, is not in the way and you still get comfortable. So for all those who don’t want to miss MP3 ́s and still want to keep the sucked original radio, and want to see no cables or transmitters, get your USB adapter! In d his senses, enjoy the sun!

  • 850 TDI, handbrake problem

    The handbrake of my ship’s thisel is still getting ready for me. It doesn’t slow down for a long time. Even if I put it firmly on, there’s hardly any braking effect. My workshop has already been there several times. Everything has been changed in the meantime. At the beginning, after a few weeks, the same thing goes on again. Strangely enough, it slows down in between with no apparent reason. Shortly tightened, and the car is fixed. Then a few kilometers further and again the old lenders. and an idea where I could look for the mistake. It’s kind of annoying, even though I don’t need it often.

  • missing performance with my Volvo 850 R Kombi

    Hello, I have the following problem and don’t know any more. With my Volvo 850 R Kombi I feel like I’m missing power. It’s more like a 150hp car instead of a 250hp car. I’ve read through the internet and found several posts but it wasn’t the right thing to do. I’ve been watching what the turbocharger display does today and no matter how much gas or in which gear I’m in, it never goes more than 3 maximum 4mm into the white area. I’ve never had before a Volvo Turbo to compare but I would think that this is too little. What can it be that the turbo “does not start”? Does it not get air or does not open a valve? I have zero idea where to start looking. He also has following Macke that if you push the clutch to switch, it goes up in the tours first and then they fall first. So like if you still give a bit of gas when the clutch is pressed. Does that have something to do with the same problem? to do? Perhaps a minor phenomenon? I am grateful for any help! VG Claude

  • Wiping water filter

    Moin people, my wiping water doesn’t arrive on the windshield, I traveled the pump changed and hoses on constipations so it goes, when I looked at the filter, I was a little scared (they always look like that?), then washed it once with hot water, and again built it in, then it went a minute, and then it was clogged again, I guess material is released from the filter and put down in the hoses so that it clogs.
