  • 2.5 144 PS Fenix? no gas

Hello together, now I have to open my own thread slowly, after I have already searched for a lot and also asked short questions. The following scenario, 2.5 10V 144 PS automatic bought with almost two years TÜV, 145,000 run, as far as very well maintained condition, but: – The car takes on virtually no gas, acceleration only possible at snail speed, idling O.K. rather low, easy shaking after the warm-up phase, cold start O.K. – What I have done already: I h abe the impression that the car is running too fat, there are now no errors (motor control unit), sitting dog sleeps. I can’t get into the ignition control unit via a flash box, maybe a cause? Where is the ignition control unit? How can I proceed now, can a clogged cat be the cause, although the engine control does not light up? Can the automatic transmission have any influence? As I said, I could still test my other Volvo sometimes But I don’t know how I’m going to make sense anymore. I’m counting on you guys Frank.

  • Buy tip, think about buying a 850 or V70 station wagon

Day together, it has to be a new station wagon, my old Passat looks little handsome and now has about 350,000 KM down. Since I want a real station wagon, my neighbor drives a V 70 station wagon, I have now, after consultation with the finance minister, taken a 850 or V 70 into the short choice. Now there is no more this brand in the car sector. What is the supply of spare parts and the number of capable workshops in the area of Cologne-Bonn? What should I do besides the usual topics like La The engines are identical, the petrol engines are 5 cylinders… a diesel is more likely to fall out because of my modest driving performance of approx.6000 to 7000 KM a year… Gruss Dirk

  • Cylinder head gasket? Volvo 850 T5R

Good evening, I have a question regarding cylinder head gasket. My favorite is ticking something A few weeks ago I noticed that he has a cooling water loss. (The symbol started to light while driving, despite several times refilling..) In addition, there was an extraordinary amount of pressure on the container. I then checked all hoses and found a leak in the water hose from the cooler to the thermostat. Then I changed all pipes and hoses incl. Of course everything was ventilated. Then the problem had been solved. 3-4 days later the whole thing started again. Water is getting less from time to time. However, you don’t see anywhere where water or oil is. If I screw up the oil filler screw everything looks normal. ) If the car has operating temperature are d he water hoses are not exceptionally hard. Then I tried to generate pressure with a pressure pump (cooler tester) on the balance tank (0,9-1,3bar) and there was so much back pressure from the system that it threw out the device. And now the question is.. does it point to the cylinder head seal ? Or could it be something else.. Would like to be safe before I exchange everything.. I hope someone can help me.. many thanks already. Mfg Grac ia

  • V70 ZV leads a life of its own

Dear community, After my window lifter goes back, the central locking now leads a life of its own. And I don’t mean that it doesn’t work anymore, but it actually does what it wants. If I open the car with the key, only the driver’s door opens. Sometimes everything goes again. Problem with it: If the other doors are locked, you can’t open them from the inside either! (Why? With my Benz it always went) the other doors from the inside somehow? Next to the problem: The unlock button inside does not work on the driver or passenger side, or it leads more or less a life of its own. So yesterday after a time the car then unlocked itself again and everything was open and worked. a short time later you could hear how the car (forgivably) tried to lock itself again. The main problem at the story is that the tank lid also affected by it. currently it cannot be opened by the switch and at some point I will have to refuel. Since various switches, which are distributed throughout the AUto, do not work, I assume that there is a problem with a central control. Maybe someone can tell me if there is a relay or something and where I find it? Or does someone at least have a provisional solution for the two symptoms (doors open from the inside and tank lid unlock)??? Thank you!

  • Volvo 850 Mj. 95 Mysterious climate problem

Hi guys, since the days are getting hotter and hotter I have once again dedicated myself to my climate. It ran quite well last year, only unfortunately an O-ring was defective and it lost the pressure. After the reperture I filled the system with joy, and found something very strange.. The cooling power is almost zero. The compressor starts every 2-3 seconds and goes out again after a good to 2 seconds…. Very strange. Furthermore, the fan does not start. Now thought ic h that there is a connection with the fan… I bridged it but the compressor still spins around unfortunately. Very annoying. So it is 2 problems to solve. Why does the fan not work properly? Why is the compressor so stupidly tacked on.. That was otherwise different.. The two cables are also cold and warm just not especially strong which means that there is quite no performance. Are there experiences and familiar things? I see this in the circuit diagrams ig that the climate is controlled by the MSG? Thank you in advance!

  • Volvo 850 BJ 1994 no fuel indicator

Hello together, for about 1 week my wife and I are proud owners of a Volvo 850 2.5 20V from 1994. Have received this from my father-in-law. Of course, he has some flaws, which I have partly already fixed with my father-in-law already, or will fix (gear wheel km counters), dampers behind (nivomates) etc. However, we have at least at first bited our teeth on one problem. The tank indicator does not work. When the ignition is activated moves si c the needle around about 2mm (that seems to be normal too), but the level is not displayed, the needle remains below. What we tested: Test AI (Buckle A-7, Mode 3) – Tank clock goes to half full, so nothing seems to be defective in the AI. Tank clock-specific errors could not be turned off in A-7 either. Afterwards we changed the tanker (my father-in-law has a second 850 standing with him, where the tank indicator worked). Unfortunately the not ts changed. Now we’re a bit perplexed, even the search function here in the forum didn’t get me any further, because there was usually a mistake in the AI or the tanker in the similar topics. My question would now be: I have read in the meantime that there are two tankers, once the separate one (which we exchanged), and a second one that is combined with the petrol pump. Is that true? Or is that only the case with the V70/XC70? What else could it be? If the wiring were defective, I would have gotten a mistake, too, wouldn’t I?

  • VOLVO c70 buy questions about the engine and transmission

Hello, the weather will be nice and how is it supposed to be different…. The desire for a convertible is growing. Now I have a few to choose from and ask myself, which is the better alternative?! To choose from is a c70 Bj. 2000 with 2.3 engine 239 hp and automatic. Or a 2.4T with 193 hp and hand switch. Question, is the difference from the engine so very noticeable? And what do you think of the automatic? Both cars have about 180,000 km down. Is the automatic with Volvo a good choice? r general information about you. Thank you very much, Christoph

  • V70 L 2.5TDI Start problem

Moin. My Eckiger colleague who scolds himself V70 2.5TDI engine code AEL makes me a bit worried. When I come home in the evening and the car stands about 8 hours. Even if it is nice and warm in the sun the next day, the starter likes to spin 10 seconds until one of the 5 pötten gives the impetus and the engine starts to run. The engine needs as good as no oil and has 483,000 down. Once it was off and has cooled down again after approx. 3 hours then it jumps sof I hope someone can help me. If someone needs to hear how he starts, I can send an audio if someone sends me his number via WhatsApp. Thanks and greeting to all moose friends

  • new member, old car and many construction sites

Hello everyone, John my name and I would like to introduce myself today. I have been in possession of a 850er for 4 years in the most miserable condition. Actually I needed a car at that time only quickly, because the family needed more space and the VW GTI had a capital engine damage. Boa what I sank in there within a short time for a coal. I had found an old, red, derelict moose just 200 meters from my front door. The car stood several years ago. ereported under a tree, was full of foliage and had had an accident on the left front. That the car was a construction site car and the previous owner had some dogs didn’t exactly make the thing better. For 3 years I didn’t put much in the car, the money was very scarce and this forum helped me VERY further. I saved several hundred euros through this. Also through various videos from the Youtube-Robert. I would like here explicitly the users “adult” and “Scutyde” (Schreibwei I’ve taken a lot of these here. How’s my Volvo today? The TÜV is due, the ABS has not been running for 4 years. Currently there are many construction sites (certainly a page full) that will be removed in the next month. The old moose really earned it. I’ve never been SO satisfied with a car for 4 years. I’ll also read a lot here.

  • Part compatibility C70 – V70 I

Hello Elchgemeinde! Was today at the Schrotti and could find a door lock VL from a C70. This C70 year 2000 also has an alarm system (LED and sensor visible on the dashboard). At the extended lock I could see the 2 green micro-switches. The Schrotti could not tell me if the lock of the C70 also fits in my V70 I, therefore the question to you experts. Does a door lock from the C70 year 2000 fit in my V70 I year 98 T5 (see also the Deadlook function)? Greeting Dobrowolsky PS: Is there already a part set-up that can easily be taken over from the C70 into the V70 I? The headlights should be the same.
