Hi guys, I noticed now in the heat that the radiator fan doesn’t start in our car. Car is a V70 I petrol bj99 with air conditioning. The air conditioning hasn’t been running for a while. The coolant temperature on the display never goes over the middle, remains rather below. That’s a bit strange, because that’s how it is in the traffic jam, the temperature doesn’t have to go up there if the fan doesn’t run?. Temperature goes relatively quickly after 3-5km to just below the center. Heating is running, cooler hoses are all warm as well. How do I best check what it is or what can I replace? Or can I somehow connect the fan so that it runs permanently? Would be better than not at all.- Greeting Carni

Moin, think about getting me a 850 station wagon. What you’re reading is real long-term cars, which you can also buy with 280,000km on the clock and then drive for a few years. Little rust, extremely stable technology, even the exhaust system should last almost 10 years… Since I’m more of a suitable type, I place more value on reliability and lower consumption than on full boost at speed 200… So it’s clear that a turbo is out of the question. Tank indicator defective – does the exchange of the tanker help?
Hello together, I have a problem with the fuel display of my Volvo 850 (built in 96, km stand: 518tkm). The display is either empty or fully suspended, although the tank is definitely not filled accordingly. I have already researched, but so far without success. My question: Could it be that the exchange of the tanker fixes the problem? Has any of you already had similar experiences and can say whether the problem has been solved? What is better: MM or mechanical throttle flap?
Hello together, so slowly I look around again for a V70 I. I had one with the electronic MM-Rosselklappe and wonder if I should also take the mechanical throttle models into the search. The problem with the MM-Dk is known to me, but I would rely on the overhaul for 200 € at this specialist company. I would not take a car with DK problems (empty running problems) or burning engine warning light anyway, so only a clean working e MM-DK. Why do I even ask: I absolutely want a car with cruise control again. Now the mechanical DK is also mechanical, and then I wonder if the mechnaic cruise control is as good as the electronic one. Unfortunately, I have no comparison. What do the people with mechanical cruise control say, is it usable or rather sluggish? Is the maintenance prone (low pressure anything)?

Drink holder in DIN box

All terrain tires on 850s and height adjustment
Hello together My 850er kombi needs new tires. Since I’m going to Azerbaijan next January (with a breaker to Syria), further around the Caspian Sea and then back up, I also need tires with which one can “get through” well. Does anyone have any experience in the 850er Kombi Höferlegung? The whole thing is to become a somewhat more terrain-friendly car. Conversion E2 to Euro 2 not possible because of gas system?
Hello people, with my recently acquired Volvo 850 2.0 10 V (“Italy version”, retrofitted with gas system, I received the following answer on request from the Volvo customer service for the conversion from E2 to Euro2: “…Unfortunately your Volvo is retrofitted to operation with liquefied petroleum gas. Against this background we do not have any documentation on the exhaust gas behaviour of your vehicle and for this reason we cannot issue a certificate for the possible re-encryption. Your understanding. …” I’m used to a lot, but where’s the point? Should I take out the gas system now, re-encrypt it and install it again? Or could I do an exhaust test at the TÜV?
