  • End pot 855 2.0 10V – V70I 2.5 20V equal ?

For my 855 I’ve had a new end pot for ages, because it sounds a little very ‘sporty’. But I never really got to change it – ‘Sound’ since about 20TKM is the same and consumption is ok. I have a V70I since today, which just sounds ‘sch.ße’, because there is obviously more than one hole in it. Vlt. also somewhere in the pipe – I haven’t been lying under it yet. After some googley I noticed, the different provider for both elks offer the same pot. 850 has type 714 (2.0, 10V, 93 KW) V70 has type 740 (2.5, 20V, 125 KW) After all, the V70 has 32 KW more and would like to get rid of something more ‘air’ … !? D.h. could / would I imagine the at least of pipe a little bigger dimensioned. Are the VK all just deppert / no plan / wrong info or fits the nevertheless? Info and experiences please.

  • Tank control lamp annoying

Hello, now I get annoyed again over my tank control light. Although I have fuelled this morning, the tank warning light lights up on shortly after starting and leaving. At some point after 10 or 20 KM the tank indicator then shows fully and the lamp goes off. Can also happen that the process repeated after a short time display zero gasoline and indicator light is again. Would not like to expand the complete tank you do not get there from above ? mennzer

  • C70 parking brake, did the workshop rip me off?

Hello dear Volvo community, today my elk was in a free workshop around the discs, the coverings of the HA and the coverings of the parking brake to change and then to join HU/Au. At the parking brake, as with many, the coverings had dissolved, so that one heard this “klong” when the FBremse was put on slowly. Unfortunately, the new coverings that I ordered on the Internet did not come and so I had to bring it without into the workshop and tell the master that probably the coverings had dissolved but he should just look after it. He then called immediately 2 hours later and said that the things had already fallen against him and therefore he had to install new ones for 54€. Well, I had not really wondered. When I just picked up the trolley again, I did the home journey to the Festell brake test. And what was to be said about new ones? …..”klong”…. On the paper of the Tüvs it is to be seen that the power of the Fb is different (right 160 and left and 190). Now I guess that my old Bebrem test is going to show up.

  • Ventilation smells – climate not

hi, another climate thread: sometimes, without which I can reproduce it as much as I want, the air smells like…yes, after what actually, hard to describe. I don’t know if “muffy” is the right word, that’s always subjective, in any case I get heavier air through this smell and must turn off the ventilation then, because my brain tells me “age, turn off, otherwise soon no air at all!”. so, but now the funny thing: 1. it’s not always, and 2. immediately, as soon as the air conditioning is on someone an idea? mfg

  • Buy or not as a first vehicle?

Happy news, and hello to the community! I wanted to ask if this is worth it/returns as the first car to buy a Volvo 850. My father had a 850, unfortunately a Monday car. Has only made a bitch now he has a C70 of the first series (2.0T 163PS manuall). My mother has a 850 for 4-5 years, and you and I love this car and appreciate its reliability. The C70 is a nice part, but for me absolutely nothing. I absolutely want the combination, which is unusual for my 20 years, as I see everywhere. Since I am from my point of view very reasonable and strangely totally past the “gasser gene”, how would that behave with a T-5R? How do you get there the maintenance costs regarding the insurance? Will this be very bad? The one of my mother as 2.5l 10V 144PS costs my father only 37€/month. Does the T-5R have special masks? So from 100€ insurance would be painful, but what do you not do for an elch! With friendly greeting, Rene

  • Purchase advice Volvo 850 Stuttgart

Hello, I’m looking for a Volvo station wagon… Since I find the nice, quite simple. Wouldn’t need the car every day, but already for every season, even in winter for the rides to the ski area, or longer rides. I would rather make short distances rather rare. So all in all I need the car for my leisure time. Found the following offer. Was previously available for 1400, jetz 1100. http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/…/1671155772-216-9598?ref=search Here are more pictures: http://img4web.com/g/9HT8W Would be cool if someone who has experience with the cars could tell me something about it. I think for my part that it is quite ok, even if he already has a good kilometer on it… Thank you! Greeting Lorenz

  • Slack noise while braking

Hello, for a few weeks I’ve had a funny crack noise while braking, that I can’t get away. If I start early and then brake for the first time, it goes relatively loud KLACK. After that the noise is gone and won’t come for a long time. After a few kilometers on the highway and then again in the city traffic, it goes again KLACK at the red traffic light, afterwards, at the next brake it is gone again. I had the rear (I guess it comes from behind) brake blocks out and cleaned everything up. I thought it might be the spans that span the blocks, but it doesn’t seem to have been. Has someone had a similar experience, or does someone have a tip that might have to do with that? Could this possibly also have to do with the hand brake, which is also very funny when I pull it on when I’m driving. Greeting, Anton

  • Gas plant in Volvo 850 !!!SUPPORTED!!!

Hi, I drive a Volvo 850 with a KME car gas system. I wanted to use another one now because the engine is gone; and that’s the one from the V70I (which is already lying here). I had the following problem because of the engine control, because the V70 engine has a variable camshaft control: As in another block already described, I would have to make the whole cable salad new, stop because of this camshaft control, and then I decided to take the cylinder block and its piston out of the V70 and make the rest, i.e. cylinder head with camshaft and all the stuff, again on top of it. Why do I do that exactly like that, is described in another post. I have now, however, the one question, namely, how to deal with the gas system??? Can I just remove the cylinder head above or fly it all around my ears. Someone also told me that there is a safety device on a component of the gas system, with which I can already screw around at the front. I can do the engine conversion with one who knows well, however, if I don’t need to drive the gas systems.
