Hello, I’m anything but an expert, I bought the car only 3 months ago and still learn, please don’t deal so hard with me! So I had the problem with my 850er already several times during the ride, that the speed suddenly goes to 0 and the engine no longer takes any gas. That has always occurred only briefly, only 1-3 seconds, until the speed accelerates again and again gas arrives… Yesterday he did not catch himself and I I then turned off the engine and couldn’t start the car after that. Only after about 10 minutes I was able to start again and then he drove again normally…. I think the error has only occurred until now when I drove in the fifth gear and faster than 80km/h… But am not 100% sure. Does anyone know what this might be about here? In the forum I found out that there are probably problems with the throttle flap. nn… However, it was described that the speed suddenly goes up in idle… That’s never happened to me before. And I just wanted to make my mistakes blink out, but I had to find out that there is nothing in my 855er where, according to YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbYwpSiXx4g ) is the flashbox on the 850er. Is there really only the 850er and not the combo?? The exact model name is: VOLVO 855-552 GLT 2.5-PK – 125 kW / 170 PS(1996)

V70 I boot does not open and inside not accessible due to installation
Good evening Have had a problem with the trunk door since Monday. On Monday she suddenly didn’t open by remote control. The yellow angel also had no idea. I suggested to remove the plastic plug that sits instead of a lock behind the cover. My dog was in the trunk and so was still a bit of a hurry. He tried it at my request with hammer and screwdriver. Somehow I then played with the remote control and suddenly KLACK open. So bad. Today I wanted to invite something and the flap remained no matter what I tried to. Does anyone have an idea how to get the flap open? The plastic plug is intermediate soft out but led to no result. Many thanks in advance Jörg P.S. The insert is a dog cage

Aubs probably not, what a mis….. the motor hums only funny loud at ignition at not even when I operate the washing system, therefore it was also jammed off. nee nee nee gruß micha.

Rear axle lowers after damper change
Hey together, our moose has got 4 new dampers, from Kayaba. Feel great, pleasantly tight, but not too tight. So far, so Knut. However, the car has been standing about 60mm lower in the back since then, with the same rim and tyre size. What doesn’t even look so bad per se. But what happens under load, topic “looping on the wheel box”? And in front, the moose is still exactly as high as before the shock exchange. That looks funny. Just lay 30mm lower in the front, kla r, you could do that… Then it fits optically again. But I am curious. Can it be that the dampers of Kayaba simply have a different = shorter length? Or can you do something so thoroughly wrong when installing the car so that the result is lower? Please clarify 😉 Greetings, Volkersson

850 as a student?
Hello dear Volvo friends I’m still a student and I do a training after the Abi. Soon I have my driver’s license and since my parents always use their car themselves, hardly anything else remains for me than to get a car myself, if I don’t want to have done the driver’s license for free. Now some may wonder what I want to do here. Should I rather buy a polo or fiesta.. I always hear something like that from my relatives, and from my friends, because they don’t share my passion for Volvos at all. Then it says, “You want such an ugly part?” or “Do you already have children?”. However, my reasons for the desire for a 850 are quite simple: comfort, safety (Is mega important to me!!), plenty of space, longevity, five cylinders and somehow coolness (is there this word?). I find the 850s somehow really cool, because when you are 18 years old with such a car you don’t really like the Str om swimming, I like that So, now my question to you. Is it worth it for a student to buy an old 850, with approx. 300000 kilometers, or more? I really would like a car, which I can drive almost forever, where then individual small or also larger reperatures are worthwhile. I would also like to have it as a companion for the study after the training. So I would like to spend between 500 and 1000 euros and have to the 144 (from ’96?) or possibly 170hp petroler as a combi cht, T5 is probably too expensive in maintenance vieel, I don’t need the performance either and the one with 126hp consumes almost exactly as much as one with 144, because you have to “step” the so (please correct me if I’m wrong). Optical condition and equipment is relatively irrelevant, just have to run! But is there anything useful at all, or do I have to pay the expensive workshop costs constantly, as I have heard? What would you recommend to me, or even to me completely How do the maintenance costs look like? Dad would also explain himself ready to fill in some times, or to pay one or the other reperture, as long as it doesn’t blow the frame. What follow-up costs come to me? What else should you consider when buying? Is there anything else I need to know? I know many questions. I’m sorry too, but I would like to have such a Volvo! I hope very much you can help me! Thanks mfG Laurenz

Ratters in cornering with my V70R AWD
Hello together I drive a Volvo V70R AWD and when cornering it sometimes ratters tremendously. When I had dismantled the cardan shaft and drove it was impeccable. What could that be…… rear axle that permanently locks or the angular gearbox??? Angular gear oil as well as rear axle oil has already been replaced. Can one give me a good advice???

Interval Windscreen wiper relay
Hello everybody, I’m looking for a programmable relay for the wipers. The V70I has only one interval level, and that’s too little for me. I’ve already found something on the Internet, but in the USA. Does anyone know an address in D or CH?

How long do brake discs last?
The fact that it has been vibrating strongly in the front of the brakes since recently, as soon as the discs are a bit warm, I suppose that the discs need to be replaced. (Paintings are new.) So from your experience: * How long do the front brake discs hold in normal driving mode? * What experiences are there with third-party manufacturers? Skandix has beside the original parts which of ATE and Zimmermann as well as a “house brand”, the prices are quite different. Zimmermann, however, has about e** y cheaper, set incl. brake pads for 99 € (no-name products again significantly cheaper, but we prefer to leave the fingers off). Basically it also comes to 50 € more or less not at such a repair. * Do I really have to renew the pads when changing the discs? Was only done half a year ago, Volvo original pads, now about 8.000 km old. I have heard that this is always recommended, since the pads depict the bars of the old disk and then work these into the new discs, like a kind of stamp.

Water in the oil!
Meal! The other day when I looked at my 850er 2.4 10v again after the oil, I noticed the much-loved milk coffee-colored mucus on the oil cover and on the measuring rod. My brain of course first switches into panic mode because I could not afford a cylinder head gasket exchange. Now, however, I lack the other symptoms of a broken cylinder head gasket. Although the cooling water disappears something, but this is due to a small leak on the cooler. It smells neither according to A. The car has been moving a lot in cold weather lately. Can it be that it just formed condensation water or something like that? After I drove a little long distance the slime had definitely disappeared. But came back sometime after the short distance rides. So I should panic or just drive the long distance often to blow out the water?
