  • News from the transmission country

Hello and Servus, As it became known in this Fred, the reverse movement of my (overhaul) automatic transmission had not been moved to the cooperation. Yesterday finally the call came from the workshop. It was a mistake of the mechatronics engineer, who, according to the boss, was supposed to have switched a cable in the (?) transmission. Whether I can believe this statement I will know tomorrow, because today I can unfortunately not manage to bring the moose home. Supposedly, however, he should now finally also bring power again. I only hope that this faux pas did not lead to a termination of the ECU. But, tomorrow I know more and I will report. Gruss Jan, who suffers enormously from elk migration!

  • VOLVO – Meeting in Moritzburg near Dresden / Saxony

Hello, after I have seen that nobody dared to report about the Volvo meeting I do the… Text by SunMan From 21 to 22 May 2011 the type-open VOLVO – meeting of the “VOLVO-Treffs” Germany took place again. After the great success of last year’s meeting in Monheim the re-edition with a stately number of participants: 21 vehicles of the years 1994 to 2008 with almost 50 participants between 2 and 53 years. Meeting took place at a campsite near Dresden. The most widely travelled participant came from Ireland with a 1998 V70R. In addition to the natural discussion about the various VOLVO vehicles of course also a lot about politics, money, cooking and even pets was talked about. Parts exchange, awards, „Schrauberrunden and common barbecue parties rounded off the successful event. After a joint breakfast on 22 May it went back home for most participants, in the luggage every amount of great memories and impressions of the meeting and the beautiful surroundings of the royal-Saxon hunting castle Moritzburg near Dresden.

  • Possible tyre problem – soil imperfections now much more perceptible

Hello people, drive a Volvo S 70 and have given me this year new summer tires and drive now with the Michellin Primacy HP (205/55 R16) on the Columba Volvo Alu rims. Before that were still summer tires of the size 205 50 R16, which I did not want to afford, because I can also drive the now size and this is much cheaper… So, my problem now is this: It seems to me now that the new tires react much worse to ground unevenness than the previous ones. Every hube or similar thing is now being delivered much more intensively to the interior. Oh yes, the shock absorbers (front) have only been changed about 3 months ago. With the winter tires I had previously on steel rims (185/65 R15 T) the car runs much calmer and dampens much better. Do I have to worry about anything? Thank you for your answers!

  • irregular jerking at 2.5T

meal time, since I just drove 180km autobahn, I could unfortunately observe it very nicely: in irregular distances the car (98 c70, 2.5T) jerks while keeping the speed. sometimes a while not, then again partly clearly noticeable. there is a short jerk, I feel as if the performance is short-term lacks. but is only a subjective estimate. error codes are not in, was only read out recently, moreover the ignition in the workshop (for gas conversion) was controlled, everything is in order. I also exclude spark plugs, were made in the middle of 2007 new. I know to identify “rumbling” equals the search of the needle in the heap, can theoretically be anything, but event. someone has a starting point. mfg

  • Light cooling water consumption at the 850 TDI

Hello everybody, I’m new here and need a little help: I’ve had a Volvo 850 Tdi for some time now, with about 304 000 km on the clock. After having completed some holiday trips to Denmark and southern Italy without any problems in summer, one day after I drove a distance of about 800 km, a large pool under the car!!! Tasted, and fed, that tastes like cooling water… afterwards there were rarely even smaller spots under it, now it has completely stopped! Trozdem regularly disappears water from the balance tank, currently about 0.3 liters to 1000 km. A workshop has pressed the system and said, all close enough, the master then said that because of the high mileage the engine is already a little “exploded” and therefore a coolant consumption of up to 0.3 liters to 1000 km is tolerable. Bubbles are not available in the container, in the oil is no water and vice versa, after starting it smokes a little white from the exhaust, but when it is operating warm no longer. Ride in the moment a lot short distance between 7 and 30 km… Does anyone know the problem?

Brakes rear complete 9. Replacement Nivomates both side incl. dome bearing 10. Spur 11. ZR and water pump change incl. all rollers/spanners Thank you Stephan

  • Dog in the moose

Hello together, let’s see if jand has a good idea… We have come back to the dog and of course we also like to take it with us in the moose. At the moment I use a plastic tub, which goes up at the sides. All around a clean thing.. To the front my cargo space is secured by the two nets. However, I do not want to completely do without the cargo space despite the dog, because the boys would like to take a scooter with them or to be transported shopping. Would the trunk like to “separate” in the middle, perhaps with a grid from the accessories, which one clamps between the ground and the sky. Sure, then the tub doesn’t go any more, but then the dog could sit on the left and the cargo on the right.. Or buy a cage, but it certainly costs a lot of coal… Do you have an idea?!

  • Braid brake with slow driving

Hello everyone, I have a little problem with my V70 I For a few days, when driving slowly, so up to 30kmh, there is a blazing metallic noise when braking, quite loud. I think forward, but I can be fooled. When starting, there is also a few seconds left, when driving faster, then it stops again. At higher speeds there is nothing to hear. I dismantled the front wheel (as I think I come here) and looked at it, the windows have no bars, the coverings are also not yet through, so 4mm should still be on it. Or is that too little??? The brakes still work well, do not pull to one side. What could that be? Thank you

  • Volvo 850 Combi on-board computer BC and electric window lifter retrofit

I only have to expand and connect the display with the switch for this purpose? are the cables already installed here? and to the window lifters, how do I know that the wire harnesses are already prepared? unfortunately all 4 windows are by crank! and to lay the cable tree would be funny ****

  • Kaufberatung 850 AWD as a winter car?

What’s the good news for you guys, I’m the Daniel and for 3 years happy Audi TT driver, because the car is more like what for the summer (mMn) I’ve been looking for a winter car lately, I had honestly said nothing special to me just wanted to be cheap. Today I drove to the colleague I hadn’t seen for a long time, and at the door was a dark green Volvo 850 AWD, the Volvo probably got the colleague from a retiree as a deposit and now after 2 months he wants to sell it again because he has just too many cars. The good piece is a 850 AWD combo with 193ps Bj. 96, switch with 200,000km on the clock, metallic green. The condition is for the age to call it good! did not take the now under the magnifying glass but what was positive to me was the following: – relatively new all weather tyres – removable trailer coupling – Elekt. Sliding roof – really good internal condition (I was surprised) – the clutch was probably recently renewed – good general condition, should be run the negatively from me of the 1500 – should not be renewed – the usual.
