  • Buy old C70 with gas system?

    Hello Forum. On behalf of the customer, a dealer sells a C70 I 2.4 liter 170 hp petrol with 177,000 km. It is a Prins gas system installed, but I don’t know when (will ask me at the dealer’s office on Monday after the date of installation). So I assume that the system is about as old as the car. I don’t know about gas systems, nor about Volvo’s idea (run an Audi A4 B5) and would like to ask what to pay attention to here. How much money will I have to put in the car after the purchase and in the next few years? Is it worth it? I can’t spend too much money on reperatures.

  • C70 brake: conversion 15″ to 16″, length of brake hoses

    Hello! After my 15″ brake discs (280mm) have already exceeded the end of the life, I plan to upgrade my C70 to the somewhat more stable 16″ system (302mm, front). Ordered for this: -> Volvo caliper holder for the larger disc -> 302mm brake discs Zimmermann punched (here you can be divided, some had probables with it, I’ll try it myself) -> new brake blocks (TRW or ATE, depending on what the dealer gets faster) I still have a few questions about the brake hoses: my Volvo dealer recommended me new hoses, since the saddles will now sit further out. Anyway, I wanted to change, because my Coupe should run for a few years. Unfortunately he could not tell me how much longer the hoses should be. Does anyone know of you the correct length? Am also the superior to build up steel flex lines (Goodridge or similar) because there is experience with it? Thanks, Michael

  • Slight shaking at the front Wat can be that?

    Hello, since I bought it, I’ve had such a slight shaking (very tiny but annoying) in the front area. But that’s not permanent what I would conclude on the tires. I’ve accelerated the car – engine off – is still there triangle handlebars – game – replaced – still there Ninovat defective – replaced – a little better but still there problem with full right-hand check – now and then it cracks – cathedral bearings defective? Shock absorber in front defective? Does anyone have a tip where I can still look? Or do I have with my guess right that the front dampers or dome bearings are there?   • For the X-th time 16″ BRemse on 850, but this time different…

    Meal, history: that I am absolutely unfree with the performance of the standard brake on my 850er T5, maybe already the one or other here has noticed. MAn realizes quite clearly that the brake system with the vehicle is fast at the end with “slow driving mode”. Therefore (and because I want to add a few more hp) soon a decent brake has to be made. Now there is the famous conversion kit on 16″. But that is a “fake” for me, because the blocks and saddles remain as before 15 “, only the discs become larger. So it may be something, but does not represent the maximum for me. Especially not with a performance increase. Large brakes (AP, MoveIt, etc) I can not build up, because then I can’t drive my winter bikes any more. So I have to stay in the 16” sector.

  • my engine still doesn’t want to start

    I don’t know what to do anymore. the error memory only has a message from the abs sensor at the front left or right, otherwise it is empty. the ignition plugs, whether I take new or old, reach after the start attempt well after sprit. so sprit it seems to get. i tried two other ignition coils already. divisor cap and finger are new. cable to the control unit from the ignition coil, cam and crank-if sensors are measured through, all ok. other still wave sensor are installed. other control unit (that for the ignition system) tested. and everything without success. he doesn’t go on and has no spark. as he does not care at the beginning I have at cylinder one more guckz above he has a spark, since he still had one, at two to five he had no more, and then I didn’t have a spark.

    Hello, I have the problem that the dipped-beam runs out while driving. After several times pulling the main-beam switch, the dipped-beam starts again at some point. The main-beam always works. He said that this is on the turn signal switch. I got another one on the junkyard and the problem persists. Has anyone ever had such a problem? What could this still be? Thank you in advance.

    Hello, my Chantalle one of the previous owners has missed a sports suspension (KAW; front 7.25; back 8 cm lower. The thing is stuck on the asphalt, but I have a bang with abrasions on my butt. Would like to make Chantalle a cozy travel machine again and still have the suspension of Bolero there. Can it be repaired easily or there is something special to consider. Would you like to do this as soon as the temperatures are above 0. Can I take the coupling rods from the Bolero (are only 10,000 km old)? Does anything else have to be changed?

    Hello together, I’m looking for a new vehicle and came across Volvo. I’ve heard a few things myself but I’m totally layer about that. I’ve got the V 70 or 850 in my eye. I heard the 143 hp is supposed to be very good when it comes to motorization. The question at this point is what do you think of the turbo variant (193hp) and four-wheeler? Are there any other things I really need to keep in mind? Can you expect something for 1000€ – 2000€ or do you have to take a lot more into your hands? Would I be happy if you could help me (I hope I didn’t miss anything in the SuFu) Thank you in advance Pascal

    So, who are always looking for a reasonable C70 T5 finally has an end. Coming Monday I will receive my first elk. A few dates ahead… C70 T5 Ez: 10/2000 125.000Km Black Full checkbook maintained by Volvo Unfortunately not a big sound system but Navi things I want to change immediately are Domstrebe, where I got the cheap I could read in an other posting. And I would like to have the Facelift Grill , gives the possibly somewhere at a bargain price or has one about? What I have also thought about is a double Din radio to install, but only if this is possible without quality loss, does someone have suggestions or experience with devices where you don’t have to cancel? If necessary I will simply buy this MP3 extension…. For suggestions which I should technically make/change/renew on the elk I am also open….

    Hello Volvo Forum , I’m actually coming from the Audi corner, but read now you’ve been with me for over a year. I’ve been for a long time convinced that my next car should be a Volvo, preferably a 850 or a V70 I. It’s supposed to be a T5 (or T5R) if I find something reasonable. I didn’t have the opportunity to drive a Turbo Volvo yet, but I’m generally more interested in charging than in the sucker. Since I have to go to the highway every week, but rather the prudent driver, it’s important to me to have a “strong cruiser”. Now, for the reason I’m actually writing. First of all, because I wanted to introduce myself, if I’ve always been reading with you and second, because I hope to benefit from your experience and sometimes get the one or other tip if I’m looking for a ride from mobile and co on what’s interesting. If someone has a good tip from the Internet, that would be good to know.
