Reliability of the engines 140/170/225 hp in 850
Hello Volvo driver! After I was disappointed by Mercedes (reinvented the rust), I would like to afford a Volvo and a 850’ger. I just like the classic design and want to make as much as possible myself. Since I have had bad experiences with electronics in the car, the 850 is also very nice for me. It is important to me that I can overlook the technology and the car is extremely reliable. So now the question is: Is the turbo engine as reliable as the other two 5-cylinder versions? Do the other chassis components suffer from under the extra power (drive shafts, etc)? I am not a heater, but I want to be able to offer reserves during overtaking operations. The price plays a minor role; I am concerned about a car with performance reserves that are as good as possible without loss of reliability. What do you mean? Turbo or not-Turbo, that’s the question here.

Search C70 I – Buyer’s advice/tips
Hello, I’m new here in the Volvo Forum, because I’m looking for a C70 I. Volvo experience I did have (940, 960, 850, V70 I), but would be very grateful for a few tips from C70 experienced people. I unfortunately scrapped my 960 Volvo 2 years ago and therefore drive a Golf VI at the moment. This one should now give way to a C70. Search a C70 I with the following criteria: – max. 9 TEUR – automatic – approx. 100Tkm In the net I could find at the time four, which come into question for me. Unfortunately these are all several hundred kilometers away (live in Berlin), so that I could not yet look at any of the cars. Therefore, I would be very pleased about comments/tips/obvious weaknesses to my selection. Thank you for the help! Adding additional instruments: oil pressure, charge pressure and oil temperature <- just how useful?
Moin, after viiieeeleen, almost unbelievable many OT contributions from me now again something on the topic of Volvo It is about the connection of additional instruments. Since a V70 unfortunately no turbo pressure indicator anymore has just as little as an oil temperature indicator (both is with the 850er T5 I believe with on board) I thought once, build you one. Then in the 3er-pack with oil pressure also. I thought, can not be harmed, if it is useful has put it there has cost the same as n 2er Pack! Now my question(s): Incidentally a slurry for the lade pressure (pane tree beside the engine block, search for a free port or use the T-piece) <---- charging pressure would be solved with it! The real problem is now that for the oil temperature n adapter for the oil release screw was included then with the question of the oil temperature.

OBD II protocol for 850 TDI
Hello, someone knows which OBD II interface for the 850 2.5 TDI (BJ 1996 MJ 97) is the right one. Which protocol you need and which SW is good. The newer V70 probably have ISO Prltotkoll, but unfortunately nobody knows anything about the Audi engine. Would be good if you could keep me going, as this model of the service can only be reset via the interface. Unfortunately, the friendly one was rather unfriendly and did not want to help me or provide information. Thank you in advance.

Valve flaps 850 T5 226PS normal
Hi! So today was day one of the ordeal “I’m looking for a new car” So we looked at a Volvo 850 T5. Stumm only that there were no red numbers at the dealer today…. So the part only started in the stand….and see there: valve flaps and indeed audible from the interior… Dealer meant that would give itself with some engine-running. spoke himself into the cart and gave 5 min. times bits of gas. ETWAS really only ETWAS became less it, however, you still heard the flapping very clearly. The car was driven by a doctor and someone else from his family and has down 160.000km (service booklet confirm that…) But… I don’t know…. What do you think about it? And, did I read this correctly: the T5 226PS to Euro 2 is not going to be converted? # thank you!

Purchase advice V70 2.5T Automatic
Hello, at our Volvo dealer stands a V70 2.5T automatic with just under 160tkm. Lack of SH is the car with 299tkm insert and can only be bought vn dealers or traders (I am). According to the pictures the V70 is very well maintained and the seats show no wear – the mileage could be correct. Now my questions: What about the reliability of the engine (especially turbo)? Do you have to calculate already with a new turbo or are the durable ones? How can the automatic be evaluated? As reliable and durable as with MB? Greeting Frank
