  • OBD II

Hello, someone here around Mainz knows who can read OBD II. I was in Wiesbaden today, they wanted 25 to 30 Euronen and still said that the diesel pump should be set. The TDI runs like cream and the timing belt change was 50000 km ago. Only the fault light lights up, sometimes it goes out, then it lights up again. Thank you……….. Greetings Frank (V70 TDI Bj99)

  • Ask for an assessment of the oil consumption!

Hello, as an elk newcomer (850er Kombi, 144 HP, manual transmission, 200 TKM, BJ. 95) I have a question. The previous owner said he consumes oil – but moderate. However, he squirts pretty much at the start – I had overlooked that when buying. Now we were on holiday with the elk (via detours from Berlin to Croatia and back – two times crossing the Alps). The first 600 KM, almost 1 liter of oil consumption (10W40 after oil change). The further 1000 KM, only 0.5 liters of oil (however I had 1 liter 15W40 refilled). Then the last 1200 KM only 0.2 liters of oil consumption. Do I have to worry now, or did the elk have to gallop at a good distance? The fuel consumption was at full load (camping holiday) at 8.5 liters Super on the first 1000 KM and at less than 8 liters on the rest. Greeting from Berlin!

  • Cold start problems V70I tdi

Hello all, I have cold start problems at my v70I. These occur regularly when the car has cooled down overnight. They express themselves in the fact that the starter organizes quite a lot of organ work until the engine starts with a big “knall” and large cloud. In itself the engine runs without problems, oil and fuel consumption and power are normal, the battery is also fine. What makes me stubborn is the fact that when I break off the start process without the engine jumping on and then try to start the engine again, it starts within a few moments as if it would be warm. If I drive a few meters the engine, whether it is still cold or already warm, always without problems. Just a month ago I was therefore in the workshop, where a dynamic pump setting was made, as was the diesel filter changed. Until a week ago then everything was in order, now the problem is there again. Has any of you had similar experiences, or has an idea what that might be? Maybe the forum is so comprehensively Bj2000 and the occasion was not found in the first round.

  • Winter car – I tried; just can’t drive the R

Since you can’t get a ride on the bike in winter, I’ve been looking at the following cars: – 1998 Range Rover 4.6 V8 – 2000 Subaru Forester 2.0 AWD without Turbo – 1999 Volvo V70 XC 2.5 T – 1991 Mitsubishi Pajero LongWheelBase, 2.8 TD – 2000 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0 My budget was around the 2000-2500 EUR The Range and the V70 XC came from comfort still the most recent ones. However, the V70 XC had a light repair jam and was the most expensive of all. (2500 EUR) The range was very good at shooting, but the car was like a ship – although the Stosdampfer were still registered again. The Subaru felt so cheap in the interior that I couldn’t imagine what was more comfortable than 5 minutes to drive in the car.

  • What to do if there’s hard leg and vibrations in the car?

Hy, have a V70 year 11/99 2.4T Autom. 210000km Since about half a year, the car has become hard as a leg, as if I had a hard chassis or something built in. If dampers get old, the box becomes soft like a mustard, what can be when the suddenly is so hard? I have the original chassis inside, back with the standard SACHS Nivomatic. I also have vibrations for some time, almost always, this is a bit stronger when braking. The wheels were re-engineered, and now also the same thing with newly washed and re-fitted winter bikes. Brake discs have already been replaced twice, so that can’t be the same…. Steering rods have only been renewed a year ago. I think of the cross handlebars? But why is he car so hard? Deeper is he also not standing there, than otherwise, because he thought the dampers are there, and let through or so? Was at ATU a damper test, where was it so gratefully dropped from the 20cm?

  • Red-white instead of red-white-yellow

Hello together, I would like to know if for my Volvo 850 bj.94 (Limo not LL gruss an mennzer) there is the possibility to get taillights without the “yellow” blinker? Many from the 9 series or from 850s, which already have the rounded backlights. Do the exactly backlights fit into the same screwholes or was there something changed? Since my rearlights on the suitcase cover are already white, only the outer ones have to be exchanged. I would like to treat my elk extra and I like it even more simple. In the Sufu I unfortunately found nothing exact. Thanks in the vorraus Michael

  • Fuel pump from Volvo C70 Convertible does not work

Hello together, at my 2001’er C 70 convertible the gasoline pump does not run. The battery is new and the engine turns. We have already checked the gasoline pump, it is i.o. and promotes fuel when you bridge it. A relay we did not find, lt. plan does not have the car since it has ABS?! Is it because of the engine control???? I am happy about every tip greeting Hägar

  • Cruise control – vacuum box accelerator pedal

Hello, the cruiser doesn’t do anything more. Looking for the “Why?” I noticed that the vacuum box that activates the accelerator pedal is very lavede attached to the holder. I suspect that this should be really tight. Is that correct?
