    Hello together, I drive a 95 Volvo 850 Kombi automatic with 2.4l engine and 144hp. On the highway it reaches just 180km/h top speed. That seems to me a bit modest, especially since it is also indicated in the letter with 195km/h. What can this be about? The air filter is ok.   • C70 2003 Start problems

    Moin, the convertible has recently become an interesting feature: It only starts sometimes! The porblem is as follows: When I start it orgelt either eternally or it goes off and off! In AI the MKL or oil and the arrow remain on. Battery is logical. The funny thing is, the car has absolutely no alarm system and yet the diode flashes on the dashboard like stupid when it happens.   • White steam from ventilation, foggy windows: heat exchanger really defective? See pictures

    After some research here in the forum, I am pretty sure that my heat exchanger is leaking. Symptoms: white, odourless steam from the ventilation. Discs will not be free or fogged fast My foot mat is dry, I have no increased cooling water consumption. Today I looked more closely and took pictures. My request: Could you look at this and confirm the defect? I don’t want to change the heat exchanger if it is something else (quick coupling). On the pictures you might think that you see run-out cooling water, but only small, dry rindsale. I also read that you often have to pull a screw (which?) or change the O-rings. Is it worth the attempt? What do you think of the heat exchanger from Polar Parts (http://www.ebay.de/…/291795207624?…). Looks as if there are all the necessary seals there. When changing: Where should the cooling water hoses be glued off? In the engine room, directly before the quick coupling?

  • How to remove rust in a crunchy place?

    Hello together! While I was slowly slaughtering my old car accident, I also wanted to exchange the ugly peeled-off roof strips for the still intact of my old Volvo’s. When I had now removed the roof ring and everything in both cars, the usual picture: Lots of dirt underneath. So brush and water snatched and washed out everything. The surprise was great: Among them in my black 850 in the opposite places bad rust nests lurked. Also around the front window I found in some places. The story with the front window is still harmless. I can do that in the course of the anyway front window change. The rust nests between roof plate and side parts cause me more worry. How can I get rid of this permanently? Which rust converter can you recommend? I wanted to do the thing with a wire brush and the flex completely blank, several times prime, paint car body glue over it and then the whole gutter under the reeling with as tough carousy wax. Better ideas?

  • Window lifter (switch?) defective, urgent!

    Dear community, Unfortunately, a window lifter has failed on my V70. The problem: the window is down. Did it go down, all good. 15min later it didn’t go up anymore. I suspect that it is on the switch, because it makes a somewhat “lazy” impression. Since I have little time, my priority is first of all the symptom treatment, i.e. windows up again. Therefore two questions: If it really is the switch, can I just pull off the plug and clamp it to another switch? And do I have to remove the whole door panel or can I take out the plastic shell individually? If yes, how? Thank you as always in advance, Chris

  • Difference between 850 T5 Italo and normal T5?

    Hello, what is the difference between the normal T5’s and the Italo-T5? Except the displacement. I have both standing here and trying to get the Italo to run. It doesn’t ignite and I’ve already shipped the distributor, ignition coil, NWS and OT-gber from the normal T5 to the Italo. Has everything been right, didn’t help.     Moinsen… I’m a quite emotional and impulsive person… After having 2 new tires for today and having an axle measurement done (cars moved totally to the right before), I’m in my lucky state (cars ran straight ahead and braked as well) – right to the TÜV… They found a few little things… Tray joint re. defective… Brakes Vo uneven… OK, can I live with… BUT! First they said that my car has no fog lights… I Depp showed the idiot where the switch is… and promptly: mimimimi… they seem too deep… – considerable lack! Still? Can’t I just put them down… stick them down, pull switches off from the current?   • Engine runs restless on return drive ca100km

    as said on the return journey home, the engine ran at once restless, so not round,in the acceleration also loud exhaust noise.In the standing gas he shook himself from time to time lightly, then it was away,in the start of the journey again there??. No tool,so further,it was a modest ride,everytime when I started it seemed to me as if the engine wanted to go out and the exhaust noises louder than normal.
