  • V70 R AWD Automatic – what do I have to consider?

Hello Together Just consider whether I should laugh at a V 70 R EZ 7/97 AWD automatic, with Heico control unit and 256 horses. Small rust spot at the tailgate, otherwise good (as stated by the provider) moderate KM (180 tkm) for 5,500 euros and looks fantastic. Of course I know that the seller (hallo at this point) may read this post and laugh, but nevertheless: What do I have to consider with this box? I mean beside tooth-rhyme. Is there typical racks? Are there currently an old 850 GLE combo and now know the box a bit. The R is of course a completely different sport and more technology and stuff also brings this or other zipper little with it. The consumption is of course not timely and actually it is only the fun of neat steam under the hood. To me the 5,5 kiloeuro a tick seems too much, but I don’t really appreciate it. What do you mean?

  • Volvo municipality/Forum

Servus! I’ve been a Volvo owner for a long time, but only a month ago I own a 850-er. Since then I’ve been quite active here, especially since my elk isn’t perfect. I’ve seen pretty enthusiastic and helpful fellow thinkers here so far, and quickly get very useful tips and suggestions. I’m actually curious about where this splendor of the old elk is coming from? Objectively, except for a cozy ride, they don’t offer much more, compared to a Mercedes W124 e.g. I wouldn’t necessarily describe Volvo as a repair-friendly one. There are stories here where people are so excited about spending a fortune so that the old crates can be perfectly shot again (including me) With the women, such a Volvo always evokes strong feelings. They either find the car awful or love it. My girlfriend is excited about Volvo, especially about my recently created 850-er, which she finds much cooler than my top equipped S60 D5. Somehow, the offer of elk on the Internet is very obvious, what you talk about a good job, or what you’s lack of a car?

  • C70 Cabrio (old model) – probably my last Volvo – Hype or Skoda?

Hello to the forum: After 850er Kombi, C70 Coupe and now C70 Cabrio (old model) I will probably drive my convertible (hopefully for a long time) to the end. Currently 200,000km, but I think that 500,000 are possible (motorization 2.4T with 193 hp). Now I read an interview yesterday with the new Volvo boss Stefan Jacoby. The former VW-America boss (a marketing man), Volvo wants to make the Apple of the automotive industry. For me this means “we make a hype around us In the interview he quotes his son, for whom a Volvo does not necessarily belong to the vehicle of his choice. But when a “gimmick” of the new V60 admonished to take a break after a 2-hour drive, this “feature” was called “cool” by his son. Aha, we will then probably be able to look forward to Apple-Volvos with more or less “cool” Gimmicks in the future. Dear Mr. Jacoby, have you of the (E Lektronik-) Problems of the premium manufacturers (which I myself was able to get to know from numerous projects with the manufacturers) never heard anything? The topic of longevity and reliability is treated by Jacoby rather as a Prio 2 topic. Only the “coolness factor” counts. The question is whether the Volvo customers will also participate in this paradigm change. Just as a small example: For pure interest I once configured a V50, which shows certain things (which I have in the C70) When I then looked at the final price of just under EUR 40k, I thought it had to be a mistake. But it wasn’t. At the same time I looked at Skoda (a friend of my daughter chose a Skoda Octavia Kombi RS as a business car. A sample of the seats was very convincing). I know from Skoda that the brand within the VW Group has a problem. They are too good, i.e. in the internal ranking is the order Audi Skoda VW Seat (and VW does not see this in the same way). i.e. better processing quality than the vehicles from Wolfsburg (I can also imagine after some contacts with colleagues from Mladá Boleslav). I then also configured an Octavia Kombi RS. It is amazing that there is hardly any additional options required, since the RS has almost a complete standard equipment. Even more amazing is that I came to a final price of almost EUR 33k when configuring the RS. i.e. the Skoda is almost EUR 7k cheaper than the comparable V50 . Well, the Skoda does not have the “coolness factor” of the Volvo and may seem rather bend and reasonable. But for me at least the image claim (it is not the technical superiority of the Volvo) justifies no price difference in this order of magnitude. I would like to know how you see the realignment of the Volvo brand. Greetings, Ingolf.

  • Tyre release 205 55 R16

Hello, Could someone mail me such a certificate of approval? 205/55 R16 May they be allowed on the original Volvoalu bikes? Where else a 205/50 R16 is on it. Do I always have to carry the approval or do I have to take it from the TÜV somehow / registered? Greetings Peter and thank you very much (Volvo 850 Kombi 2,0 126PS switch Bj.11.96)

  • Change the carrying joint yourself

Moinsen! I’ve already looked around in the Sufu. There are probably 2 versions. I already have a spare part for my car. It’s actually only a joint head with 3 swing joints. Can you change this yourself without any special tools? If yes, does someone have the right torque for the nuts? Thank you, Greeting

  • Gear odometers

Moinsen! YES, Sufu was tried by me and was also really helpful… now I know how to get the AI out and also know the dimensions of the gear, which probably often leads to the failure of the odometer. Diameter 7mm x 1.5mm wide, 15 teeth, module 0.4, hub/bore 3.3/1.4mm (height with hub would still be missing) As far as correct and also apply to my 850er with BC from ́96?? Other question: Is there possibly already a solution with e.g. article number at Conrad or something? Thank you, greeting, Andi

  • Drive shaft broken in wheel bearing

In the moment, we have a customer car in the workshop (facility workshop) and have the following problem. the C70 (1) wheel bearing at the front right was renewed due to noise. after a few hundred meters of test drive, the drive shaft was over. all were stunned by the mounter was worried what he should have done wrong. we have the drive shaft built up, facit was, it was torn in the wheel bearing in the area of the gearing. 1 long crack in the circle as if one were winding a thread 3 times drum. there in the half of the crack it is broken at load. you can see at the breaking point that already about 4mm deep corner has come into the crack, therefore it is to be concluded that it is not possible for our assembly (too high turning moment with the twisting moment key?) moreover, I have noticed the torque and angle. we have checked the vehicle history and found that the vehicle before 80.000km / drive was interested in the same shaft drive from me?

  • Shock when switching spark plugs

Hi, for a few days now my C70 Coupe has been running like a sack of nuts. Ruckled while starting and speeding up. I then had the idea to buy him a set of new spark plugs, in the hope that the error will disappear and I can save myself the workshop visit. So I got the original candles from Volvo. With the first cylinder everything was good, old candle also looked used up. New pure, correct torque, further. With the second cylinder the spark plug channel was then badly ruined (see picture) which surprised me very much. So not enough, the spark plug was loose, I could easily move it with the finger in the thread. I then unscrewed it and had to find out that half of the mass electrode was missing. The car ran 109000 and got its last inspection with the friend when I bought the car (a year ago and 20000km). No idea who didn’t properly tighten the candle then left the change for the remaining cylinders and then would have to drag it to the workshop next week. I actually reckoned that the car could do something wrong.
