  • TDI engine dies while driving

    What’s the problem with my Volvo V70 TDI Bj. 98 with automatic gearboxes occurred some time ago: When the engine is running, the engine suddenly dies off. After that, it can start again without problems, sometimes it only goes out once or twice, but lately the problem repeats itself during the whole drive. It is striking that the engine does not produce the problem after the cold start during the first 10 minutes, but only when it is really warm. Also, the whole thing announces itself shortly before, when the rotary zalometer starts to spin, i.e. the needle goes quite whirling up and down. After the death of the engine also the control light remains on. Then I went to the Volvo workshop. After reading out of the fault memory had been found there that the speed sensor was defective. The part was replaced, however, at the result nothing changed: 10 minutes after the workshop left the engine, then all the engine went out again. After a further workshop visit, I then analyzed the cable tree, but without any result. In short, I then found a Volvo that was less connected to the engine, gear and related to the engine and the engine. In the engine, but then the engine was again.

  • ABS and TRAcs completely without function..please help

    Hello together I’m new here and for a short time owner of a 850 lw 2.5 20v from 11.95 have found that my abs and tracs are completely without function all contollamps don’t shine on even when igniting can it be that the previous owner has manipulated something to cover up a mistake or can it lie on the relay or control unit? and where exactly are the two sitting? for quick help I would be very grateful to you.

Under the motoblock you can see light oil shimmer, which comes from the trap or just the crankshafts immerring.     Moin has been eating oil like nothing for some time now. It definitely comes out of the exhaust. But not as a blue cloud, but as soot…. After the compression measurement he only has 7 bar on the 1 cylinder. All others have 12 bar. Maybe one of you had similar problems and how were they fixed? Greetings

  • Questions about Italy-2.0 AWD with 166 kw

    Hello, I need a purchase advice. Come from the BMW corner and would like to switch to Volvo now. I discovered a very interesting V70 I 2.0 AWD with 166 kw – the car has demonstrably little down, is very well maintained and has obviously not been heated. And a few questions: 1. The Italy 2.0 with 166 kw should not be quite unproblematic, especially in combination with AWD. Does this apply in general or can one assume that this engine with the high power is also well understood, if it is treated properly (beautifully warm drive, let end, oil change etc….)? 2. Does the SuperPlus, Super or normal gasoline need? 3. Can there be problems with the spare parts supply / during repairs, because the engine was never delivered in Germany? 4. Are spare parts for the AWD more expensive than for the front thruster? I ask, because the shock absorbers for a BMW e34 with all wheel are for example astronomically expensive and hardly available on the free market. Is there similar with the V70? 5. Are there special answers for the AWD rims?

    Hello dear Volvo community ,I recently added a volvo and need direct help from you. where do I catch now best at 1.)Abs ,Asr (believe I )motor control light ,tacho and tempomat often fall out . 2.)Oil runs from an opening between the zünkerzen (middle)raus . to 1 I suspect the alternator ,since I sometimes hear the strap disc (free running)qietschen . measured at the battery comes there between 12 and 13.2 volts (control or lima to ??) to 2 think I times that somewhere what is dense (at the spark plugs nothing gets up ) All here written assumptions I have read out from ten forums ! has here experienced who similar or can confirm my guesses ? would like to fix all probs next week still tooth belts , oil , filter etc .     Hello dear forum community, I have recently had a problem with my Volvo 850 and hope to get here the decided tip for troubleshooting. It’s a Volvo 850 lw 2.4 10v petroler 106kw. And he suddenly didn’t jump on after short distances. When turning around the key everything sounds quite normal, but he doesn’t come, when I have waited a while he went on again and drove again. However, the issue is getting sharper. Since I already knew this problem I started the car especially in idle mode on the weekend to avoid the problem, when driving off he started to stutter, went out and the same problem as if I had had had had it out!! Now I drove today towards a friend who wanted to look at the car, after about 2km when driving on a traffic light he went out again and no longer at!
