  • … just before the decision on the V50

    Hello Volvo community, (my first post …) I am not yet among the moose drivers, probably but soon. I am about to buy a V50 D5, manual gearbox (new car) and I am already more or less interested in the details. Would I be very pleased if you could help me with a few questions … you also want to have an elk soon – suspension: I had the feeling that the V50 is a bit “soft” and subjective (all of a sudden). So I think about the sports suspension. Does that make sense from your point of view? – Special equipment: Can someone tell me where the optional “waste bag holder” (for CHF 30,–) is located? I couldn’t even tell the nice salesman and can’t find out on the HP either… (if someone has a picture …?)… Not that the thing is in the trunk – discount possibilities: Does someone have a Ctual values, what is possible at the moment of discounts in the V50 D5 in Switzerland? My dealer tells me what about “nettop travel” (I would also do if I were a salesman…). What is realistic possible or fair for both sides? So far the topic at Volvo is quite tough (compared to BMW for example) — and I’m certainly not a geezer-ist-geil buyer… Thank you very much !! Gruss Riv.

  • Tips on Buying Used

    Hello, we are about to decide to buy a V50, the engine selection falls on a 2.4 liter either 140 or 170 hp. My question is, what should I pay attention to during the inspection? Are there weak points that should be considered with an “extra” look at the V50? Of course, the checkbook has to be complete and comprehensible for me. What does it look like with the engine mileage?   • C 70 2.0 D -Vebrauch

    Have my C70 2.0 D for 3 days,so far everything is ok, only the consumption has scared me a little… The average consumption is about 9.1 liters!! (I only let the engine spin up to a maximum of 3000 tours and do not “step” it) I find that a bit much or is that normal???? Example my old Alfa 156 2.4 D I risked with 6.8 liters and kicked it like nothing good… Do I have to accept this consumption or regulate it still down??

  • alarm at volvo V50

    recently I bought a volvo V50, and am satisfied with it. but, there is a problem, and that’s the alarm, I don’t know if I have it?! the book I’ve read through, done everything as it stands there, but nothing. front of the windshield in the middle of the armature board would have to flash a red LED, yes it doesn’t??? I also did this test, where I opened the windows and then closed the car, and the hand in the car stretched through after the deadlock, and again nothing!!! I really don’t know what’s going on, whether he has an alarm at all or is a fuse burned or anything else? someone can help me. it’s volvo v50 2.0 D kinetic bj. november 2004. thank you!

  • IceLinke One Experience?!

    Hi, after a few attempts with FM transmitters (most annoying that the IPod is not loaded) I came across the IceLinke One:http://www.dension4u.de/…/product_info.php?… according to the homepage it should be compatible with all Volvo models!? Has anyone already had experience with it (quality, sound, installation) and can someone tell me if it really fits into the models from MJ04 (I myself have an MJ07, unfortunately without Aux input) Other solution around an I-pod neatly in the Volvo z u still doesn’t seem to be integrating! (or I missed anything) 🙁 Thanks for your help =)

    The models C30, S40 and V50 will be available as a DRIVe variant from October onwards. http://www.im-auto.de/autonews/1815.html From my point of view, the right step towards future drive technology. Well, the VOLVO does not only adhere to the FlexiFuel models, which is biofuel in competition for food production. I hope that there will be further DRIVe models, perhaps also coupled with Elekto technology in the future.

  • Successor for V40 T4 wanted

    Hello. I drive a Volvo V40 T4 BJ98. I would like to make an “update” soon. I want a strong five-cylinder petrol engine with all-wheel drive. Do not necessarily have to be a combination, but the car should already offer enough space. Is the V50 T5 AWD a worthy successor?   • Gas conversion!? T5, 2.4i, 2.4 or 2.0D

    Good evening, as the overhang already says, it is about the purchase of a new V50. At the moment we drive a V50 2.0D and a V40. The V40 has to be abolished soon and thus becomes room for a new one. Now the question, which is best if you consider a possible gas conversion. I have already selected from some posts the individual advantages/disadvantages. But is a lot of point of view… But what would you advise? With a garden & landscape architect n in the house the car is a lot on the road and so each year about 40T- 45T km come together. Does one somehow have an invoice, or also recommendations whether the surcharge of the T5 compared to the 2.4(i) is worthwhile. Or if it would not be cheaper to take a diesel. Is the additional consumption of a T5 compared to a 2.0D not so strong that it would not be worthwhile again? In addition, the conversion costs of approx. 2.6 – 2.9T EUR… On the other hand, the steur savings are (how much?). nice if you could give me tips and let me share your opinion. My great C70II (since July 2007 in use, up to now 9000 km down) was cleaned and maintained regularly in a Carwash washing system (which with the allegedly lacquer-saving textile wash) . Sometimes the full program, so about every 4 weeks, in between the medium care with shine protection. My friend advised me to complain about this at the wash road, otherwise I should have the car polished professionally in the spring – he could recommend me special lists that can eliminate the holograms. Can you make me think of your experiences: 1. Have you had similar experiences? 2 What can you do about it? 3. But better hand wash? 4. Does polishing make sense after about 9 months, and if so, where is it best to do it with what means and procedures? Do not hold so much of polishing machines, for example, as I fear a “damage improvement”. On the one hand, I am naturally happy about every intense sunshine, on the other hand, also regularly look at these ugly reflexes. Who can help me with good tips? I am very excited. Greetings Uwe
