V50 1.6D Service Content 60.000 km or 3 years?
Hello, I just got my V50 1.6d from the three-year inspection and the price didn’t inspire me (with TÜV about 800€). What I was particularly upset about is that the workshop apparently also performs the filling up of the DPF additive at 60,000km, although the car has only 40.000 km on it. Likewise, all possible filters were exchanged, of which I suspect they were also good for a mileage of 60,000 km. (Doesn’t know when they will exchange the DPF for me…) Do you lose the assistance services / connection guarantee if you only have the necessary measures due to the mileage? Can you arrange this with a contract workshop, only the exchange necessary due to the mileage? I didn’t deliver and picked up the car and could not intervene in time. Thank you for your help!

V50 T5 Catalyst find no replacement
Hello, I’ve unfortunately fallen through the HU, car is otherwise top! It’s about a 220 HP FWD T5 hand switch. The Tüvler maybe meant the cat is through. But I still ordered the precat probe. I wanted to look at it for fun at home but the dumpsters of previous owners have welded the screws of the downpipe in the back direction of the rear silencer on the flange. So no with “screw up and look up again quickly”. Now I desperately look for this downpipe as a whole in the net and find besides swollen adventure of BSR no spare part! Can anyone help me? I also consider welding a universal cat Euro 4 in, but also here the complete exhaust system from turbocharger has to down and it already makes me gruesome, that the screws on the turbo also get broken and it becomes an act. By the way, the Lambda value was slightly too low (should >0,97 is 0,94) and the Co value is too high here too (should <0,2 is 2,9). Engine inspection was not even since I's a car is running low now and there is no more than 2 years old.

Can’t decide
Moin, I got my 18″ medusa rims back from the sandblasting, did the fine work before, and now I’m standing there… I just can’t decide in what color I should paint the rims! Black I find also quite nice, but then my cart is up to the outside mirror COMPLETE black, looks kind of boring also I think. Otherwise I still had chrome in mind, but don’t know if that might be too crass already.. Normal aluminium silver is never wrong – but has just everyone… just feel like a woman in the shoe shop Do you have maybe n pair of ideas, or maybe even pictures of your or other painted cars where you can look at something? Cooler fan always runs “on” with air conditioning. Normal???
Hello! I would like to gather experiences about the Volvo V50 2.0 D. Here’s my current question: Is it normal for the Volvo V50 2.0 D to have the cooler fan immediately running at the current low temperatures around 10 degrees when the engine starts cold in the morning and the air conditioning is switched on? If the air conditioning is not working, the cooler fan will stop. I would be interested to know if this is also the case with you. Or whether the cooler fan will switch on later at engine operating temperature or only under certain driving conditions such as full speed on the highway. I ask this because the fan on my car is absolutely always turning as soon as I switch on the air conditioning. Even if it is cold outside and the cooling water is still cold. Even when driving quietly over land road at 100 speed in the highest gear, the cooler fan is spinning despite (my opinion) sufficient cooling by driving wind. Does anyone know the problem? Is this a problem? If someone had the problem, what was repaired on the vehicle?

Tyre noise (saw tooth effect) at V50
According to my tyre dealer, I have a sawtooth effect on Continental Premium Contact 5 (205/55/R16) summer tires. Have these now mounted the second summer and now the noises. We have changed the tires from the rear to the front, the noises have been slightly lower, are still present. Had the same already with Goodyear Optigrip 91. I thought that with the new summer tires I am rid of the problem. With winter tires (same size) the noise does not occur. Can it possibly also lie at the wheel bearings? If someone has an idea / answer, I would be grateful. These sounds are annoying already… Or is it generally on the vehicle?

Tack, Tack and my trouble sends greetings
Hello dear Volvo friends, it’s enough for me now! Now I have only 3,700 km on the speedometer and come for the 4th time not from the spot!!! I was 3 times in the workshop because of the well-known “tack” problem when starting. Starters have been changed, cables have been checked, electronics checked. And now I’m standing again and I don’t get the engine to run!!! In my opinion this is pretty slowly unacceptable, I’ve been about all 3 weeks in the factory and the problem comes up again and again. a car is still there to drive, or am I wrong?! I don’t want to say here that the S40 is a bad car, by no means, but MEIN S40 has clearly serious problems! Does jmd have an idea what I could have left of my still changing so that I can finally start my car without worry in the early morning and can also make a quiet trip abroad? lg dominik

Conversion Instrument Lighting V50, Arbitrary Deception by Volvo?
Hello dear ones, I am Wednesday now my V50 D5. He has green instrument lighting, that’s to break. I’ve been quite confused about Volvo. On the Volvo homepage in the configurator the ads are clearly white, also the friendly dealer said that the lighting was changed in the course of the MJ 07 to white (analog new S80 and XC90). Obviously that’s not so. Volvo seems to be deliberately deceiving the customers, who wants to have an unsightly and terrible green lighting with red pointers nowadays? Here’s my question, have you had the lighting changed before? If yes, where? How much is the fun? Who has experience? I will write a letter to Volvo on the weekend, in the USA a product liability would be enforceable, but here in Germany? I find this from Volvo outraged. That has something of a mischievous delusion. What do you think?

Motor vehicle tax
Hello, I am a little irritated because of a car tax notice that I received today. I have paid 308 EUR car tax for my V50 2.0D with particle filter (Euro 4), first registration 05/2005 so far. Now the tax office wants to look at me retroactively on 01.04. a tax increase of 1.20 EUR per 100 cc. So I should pay in the future 332 EUR per year. However, after all that is known to me, this tax increase applies only to diesel vehicles without particle filter. Can it be that the tax office has been wrong with me? How is that with you? As I have just read, the tax increase applies also to Euro 4 vehicles, which do not comply with the future Euro 5 limit value of 5 mg carbon particles per kilometer. Can it be that our particle filter does not achieve this limit? I can honestly not imagine it. Then it would be meaningless – at least as far as the tax side is concerned. V50 D5 Year of construction 11/06
Hello I have a Volvo V50 D5 year 11/06 summun with approx. 20,000 km in the eye. would be my first Volvo as an alternative to the A4 and would like to have some advice or answer: 1. one reads the needs a lot of diesel, according to car picture 7.6 this is still true in the green area. am rather a speedy driver on the highway also about 200, if it is possible, therefore yes this motorization. but I don’t want to have a sip woodpecker, but what does it need at the speed is also clear. 2. did there afterwards the facelift if serious? 3. what is the resale value, or the demand, as I use in business it can be that I want to sell it again in then after 1 year with an additional 30,000 km 4.
