Hello to the Volvo community! I’m seriously considering my Bavarian Brummer (E39 540ia on LPG) for a current S40. The last years were nice but it makes me itch again to drive something new. With the BMW I had good experiences, only unfortunately I had before him an Alfa 156, which has seen the workshop more often than I my girlfriend. For this reason I would like to inform myself before the purchase about the weaknesses of the car. I think about buying the 2,4i or 2,4T and then to upgrade to LPG. Are with the S40 or V50 any defects known, also those from early years of construction at the beginning of 2003? Fahrwerk? Kats? Motor? Gears? Electronics? I am interested in all childhood diseases! The car is optically and financially a scratch and it is quite itchy? Would I be very pleased about support very much

330d Cabrio vs. C70 D5
Actually, I am on the road in the 4F-area, but since at the end of the year a second car/cabrio is to be purchased, I come here to inform myself a little. As can be seen from the title, I have only two cars left to be selected under. First of all the minimum requirements, which have crystallized over the last months: – tin roof – automatic – diesel – 4 seats So it is easy to see that there are hardly any models on the market that meet the above-mentioned requirements. Test drives will be made the next weeks. I have already opened a post in the BMW-area, but would like to hear a few opinions here among the Volvo drivers. Especially interesting are of course information about problems (yes, old hat, always the same thing, I know)

C30 2.0 (petrol) switching accuracy
a question to the Px1 petrol drivers (1,8 u 2,0 Duratec HE) … do you also have that the switching accuracy / lightness (especially 1 & 2 gear) with the time (1 year & 13 TKM) decreases strongly? I find the circuit in the meantime very rough and difficult (in the left alley) and above all there is in the interspaces (between the gears) – and again a gear crash of the synchronous rings, simply if you stick with the shift stick a short time in the range between two gears. It can be switched still decently, but “premium” is definitely something else and I will not tolerate this so, am in January with the year-insp. and listen to me before to be done by not possibly again with “typically series, due to construction and completely normal”.

C70 new purchase
Hello here in the forum, I’ve been reading with you for a while, but I haven’t really spoken yet. I guess it’s because I’m not (yet) a Volvo driver. But now it’s been crawling for quite a while, I’d like to buy a C70 at last. I’ve already found my desired model and a few dealers off. Now my question: How much “discount” is so inside, is there even a few percent??? And does the car also have its good sides, after all that you hear here, the car doesn’t really seem to be the yellow of the egg!? But I think the look is awesome! Oh yes, give a few nice gimicks if you buy the car then when you hand it over or conclude the contract (what)? Greeting hF

Volvo S40 II hard to sell ??
Hello to the Volvo Forum, I have been driving a Volvo S40 II, Built 09/2005, Kinetic, 2.4 ltr., Automatic, TÜV 05.2016 The vehicle has currently run 98,000 km and is maintained checkbook (at Volvo). Had as repairs last year a new battery, new timing belts, new cathedral bearings, new springs front and new summer tires. I even had a seat heater (driver’s seat) retrofitted. It is in a well-kept condition without bumps and scratches. Why do I post this here? Since the Volvo was only intended as a transitional vehicle for a year, I wanted to pay it now for a new car purchase. However, the dealers in question were anything but enthusiastic and offered only as a purchase price of 3,500 euros. And that, although a current Schwack report as a dealer selling price of 4,700 euros showed. The dealer selling price was not according to Schwacke at 6,200 euros. As a reason, there were arguments like: – too few vehicles on the market !!!? – can be sold hard again I thought II was so popular with a purchase of Volvo?

No oil pressure! ?? Is this the end? V50 2.0d 2008 130000km
Hey, a week ago, after a highway ride at the traffic lights for a second, the red warning light went on. Immediately again. Engine oil changed and hoped that the spook had an end. On Monday at home In the city, unfortunately, she went again longer. In the driveway I heard a slight knocking engine from and to the mech., which measured the oil pressure, so too little, at temperature pressure oscillates out. Then what is confusing he thought that the two-mass swing wheel would definitely come over the noises from there. Which would I rather have tapped on connecting bearings because of the money-consuming oil pressure. What now? The opinions in the brand-independent forums, because it seems rather not to be a Volvo specific prob, oil pump change connecting bearings over what else is coming to you? Turbo? I’m curious about your opinions. Oil a5/b5 Greeting

Volvo V50 T5 AWD driver.. Questions about driving behavior.
I’ve already started another Fred here with various questions (the other questions have been solved halfway… thanks.).. but that with the AWD doesn’t let me go and really would have liked some statements from connoisseurs about the AWD. I have now a month.. before almost twenty years a Impreza Turbo with permanent 4WD driven. So.. yesterday was in the snow (on dirt roads where with my Impreza no problem). Resumee: Half lung ignition and cut hands through foot mats and branches put under the wheels. I didn’t come along. Bauer had to rough myself with tractor… and he also nicely smashed the whole plastic covering under the engine. But anyway… did I want to test something so much to test the 4WD. But by the way I was really stuck in the snow, I also saw how the 4WD reacts.. and he doesn’t react at all! The front wheels just spin through! If I give a strong gas, turn to it… so late? Then I’m going to support it too late? But I’s like that I’m going to do some physics.

Change of timing belt
Hello dear Volvo community, I would be very interested if someone with his elk is already ready to change the timing belt or have already changed. As I have experienced the intervals of the V50 at 250,000km, that is hammer. The timing belt can be that he does not tear around but the around 8 water pump etc ) I will change mine at 85 t km about including the water pump. I would also like to know what it costs? ? The Andreas would have to know that. a nice evening gruss attila

Used V50 almost unsaleable
Actually wanted to say goodbye to the brand Volvo, but my V50 turns out (unfortunately) to be very cumbersome. Whether private or at the dealer – it is simply not with this car to achieve a half-acceptable price. I never thought that a Volvo would be so reluctantly taken into payment! Have a V50 140PS 8/2006 with 113000 km on the clock, SSD, Navi, seat heating, Wimnter tires on aluminum, accident-free and stacked – and as the only offer for this car was offered 10,300 euros. The brand really has a problem. Was recently at the contract workshop to make a check ass. Mentioned the planned sale. Ask me the car house employee, what I want to buy then next. I said: Probably a Tiguan. He: “Can I understand.” No attempt to change myself, however, to make an offer, then I still have to sell the XC60 out of it. Nix, niente! And with all VW dealers: Although I would pay the rest cash – to make the V50’s car with the rest of the luggage. “Can’s not make any more at the same time.”

Purchase advice for C30
Hello! The leasing for my current walking aid runs out (currently a Daihatsu Copen in everyday life) and I want to buy a compact car. I have pulled the C30 into the narrower selection. It’s very important to me that I get a gasoline engine (diesel pays off with me, but I want to enjoy driving fun). Performance should be between 120 and 150 ps. There’s a Volvo 2000er. Is this a Volvo machine? What is the efficiency of the machine? I’m not looking for a turbo. My cop has just 87 ps. A little more would be nice. The 1600er is apparently nothing else than a walking aid. It immediately disappears. What about maintenance costs? Car insurance? Consumption (for example)? Are there generally weaknesses in the C30? What would you recommend me for a minimum equipment? Climate automation is a “must have” for me in any case. Just as Tempomat. Are there other things that I should pay attention to? Thanks. MfG Tom
