Hello, for a few years now I have been browsing on these pages. It’s informative, entertaining, and I have to shake my head a little bit with one or the other thread. Because of whom something is important. Surely a whole series of visitors only report when something is broken or a piece of advice is needed. So you get the idea that the V50 is a terrible pile of junk, in particular, before which you can only grumble at best and you make the most meaningful three crosses when you have sold it. If you have at least got a reasonably bearable countervalue in Euros for it. I did not bother to browse the other forums, whether it is similar with the cars/owners there. In short: I noticed that there is no one here who seems to be satisfied with his V50. So I hope that a few people will report themselves, who are now already a long time without extra-planned nuisances their V50/40/C30 drive through the area and at this point of time.

Downsizing – Comparison of consumption
A short report about an interesting comparison. We have in the family Volvos, I drive a 2009 S60 D5 (185 hp) with manual transmission, in the family there is next to an XC60 still a 2009 V50 1.6d. On the weekend a trip took place, before the S60 and the V50 were filled with fuel and the average consumption was deleted. The journey was a 70-minute drive on exclusively country roads. The V50 with two people drove ahead, I followed with another person in the S60. At the same time arrival we compared the consumptions: 5.8 l in the S60 D5 vs. 7.1 l in the V50 1.6d. Very disappointing and no glory sheet for the V50. Hope that the driv-e really did better than customer feels easily tapped.

white C30 rdesign – discs sounds???
Hello, I’ve been driving a white C30 rdesign MD2010 1.8 for about 1 month now and now think about letting the back panes sound. I can’t imagine exactly if this would not seem too bad …. Does one of you have a white C30 and has the panes sounded? Or does someone have a photo at hand? I’ve already used the Google – image search, but I don’t think that you can do much with the photos, because they were mostly processed with the computer, or were made on any car shows. Well, maybe someone can help me. Have a nice evening!!!

2nd annual inspection at the S40 1.6D
Hello, I’m just about to fix my invoices and notice that the 2nd annual inspection of the XC90 D5 with approx. 40,000km is almost identical or cheaper than the S40 1.6D with 30,000km, both times the same car dealership. Although the XC90 needs almost twice as much engine oil. On the invoice for my XC90 is listed a basic price of 170,00€, in addition there are different costs for oil, various filters, total price 502,08€. However, with the S40 my wife the basic price is specified with 238,00€. Also here are several costs for oils, filters etc.. So I come to a total amount of 493,48€. According to the invoice, no additional work has been done that drives the price upwards. I would be interested in whether this is normal or whether you have an explanation for this. What do you pay so on average for the inspections at the S40?

Chip tuning – V50 D3
Hello together I actually wanted to order a chip tuning for my V50 at Heico, but the following answer came: Quote: In the context of our cooperation with Volvo Cars Switzerland, we are only allowed to supply products that are homologated and approved in Switzerland.Unfortunately, we are not yet offering a performance program for a V50 D3/2011 in Switzerland for business reasons. HEICO SPORTIV GmbH & Co KG Rudolf-Diesel-Straße 44 D 64331 Weiterstadt Now I wonder if there are clever alternatives?

C30 with track broadening
Hello together! I have a question. When I was at my Volvo workshop last week, the workshop master spoke to me about the wheel widths mounted on the rear axle. Of course, I noticed these already in autumn when changing the wheels, but I thought that they are standard at the C30. This also fits visually very well, because the C30 has a slightly wider butt. In addition, 16″-alus look quite good. Since the previous owner was a pensioner, I don’t think that the widenings have been mounted. I don’t have an ABE and there is nothing in appearance. What does it look like with you. Is there anyone who drives a lane spread on the rear axle. ? Mine is a 2.4i momentum. Greetings! Thomas

Change diesel particulate filters after 120,000 km?!?
Moin, if it goes to Volvo, then with my V50 2.0 d in 12,000 Km the change of the diesel particle filter is on – with the associated costs (but this should not be the topic…) I drive with my Volvo 35,000 Km per year – a lot of country road and also sometimes highway. Volvo stumply prescribes the change after 120,000 Km, without asking about the driving profile or the age of the car….. With a car with a mileage of 120,000 Km, a change is certainly less commercial than technical thing, but what is at 240,000 or even 360,000 Km, if the cost of the change reaches or even exceeds the time value? Does one then have an economic total damage? Or does the thing fly out and the Volvo leaves us to Africa??? So, is there any experience values concerning the overlay of the change interval? Does it run better – someone could experience a difference between old and new filter? (My given 210Km/h does not reach – would it run “free” after the change?) For corresponding experiences I am grateful….

Tyres/wheels for the V50
Hello, I’m new here, but I’ve been reading silently for quite a while. Last year I bought my first used elk (V50, 1.6 D) and I’m actually quite satisfied. Only with the current tire, which of course is not due to the speed. Had the series tire on it on steel rim and would now like to change to something chiceres. Imagine me in any case 17 inches, like with 205 or 215 tires. Would like to use the wide selection of non-original rims (come on cheaply) and have no idea what is possible there. Read everywhere that you have to build bricks or car parts. Actually, I am the classic series vehicle driver and have never bothered with anything like that. What can you recommend there? Have looked around me at Dezent and Brock and I like this one or other (Dezent: V, N, Brock: B 21, B 24), but that never fits 100% to the EEC regulations.

New emblem / noise
Hello, I have read somewhere that it is not supposed to be a big discovery to attach the new Volvo emblem to a Volvo V50 BJ 2009. Since I can no longer find this page, I have 2 questions about it. First of all it is really not a big effort after time and costs? Somehow I can not find a spare part page where I could find the price for a grill, with new emblem. Thanks in advance. Oh, one question is still. When starting the engine, I always have a „cratch/looping in the engine room” in the cold condition. This is depending on the speed becomes strong, but does not have to go off. As soon as the engine temperature indicator has reached the first beam it is gone. Does this have anything to do with the starter?
