On the way to work with a not yet completely warm engine, today the car jerked at speeds of 1800 independent of the inserted gear. This afternoon it was gone. For this the on-board computer showed that the residual range (with the tank filling) has been reduced by about 100 km (way to work about 25 km). There the engine must have swallowed up massively on the diesel. What could that have been???

GPS signal/position incorrect
Hello together, the following problem bothers me again… I drive comfortably from my home “A”, using the Navi. The position is quickly found and the journey runs according to schedule. I arrive in “B”, stay there for a few hours and then drive home again. If I do the Navi on I can type the destination (which actually means that a signal is present), but I drive around according to Navi in my home “A”. That means when I start in Berlin, drive to Munich and start the Navi in the evening, the Navi thinks that I am still in Berlin and of course comes constantly through each other because Navikarte and my route simply don’t match. The whole thing then takes about 10 minutes (most of the time you have already found through the city center etc.) and then the right position is displayed. Had such a thing already? DSC at the moment failed and wheels are crooked
Hello Elkfriends, I have a big problem, I wanted to start my V50 2.0D BJ2004 yesterday, he was standing outside for 3 days now. He jumped on, but I got an error message “DSC at the moment” and the steering seemed to be out, because the wheels almost didn’t hit, or if the steering wheel has hit, the wheels are anywhere else! But not where they should stand! What does the Volvo have for a steering or what effect can the DSC have? Do you have to learn the steering angle again? Thank you for your help! Greetings Holger

Hello, I had a wild accident at the WE. The vehicle is in a free workshop. Yesterday the expert was on site. He was able to find out that this vehicle must have suffered a side damage. It was already leased and painted – I bought it as an “alleged accident-free car” as an annual vehicle. Since the belt strapper was removed and the airbags caused some error messages, the error memory had to be read out and deleted. The free workshop has a “universal diagnostic device” in which you can define the corresponding vehicle. In the diagnostic software you could also make a “comfort” setting. My question at this point is whether you can prove a corresponding tachomanipulation on this car. The error message there “KilometerZaehler manipulated” – “super”, I thought to myself … so much about the official VolvoHaeddler and an annual vehicle. Wild accident 🙁 now it got me too.
Well – yesterday it got my open air also: wild accident. I still have the fright in the limbs. But it all went out happy. In a piece of forest suddenly a deer right in front of the right front, no chance to do anything. There was a bang and a very nice sentence, the car put it to the right on the grass but I could just catch it. Actually then I saw in the rear mirror what happened. The track is quite narrow, unclear and it was too dangerous to stand. So first 1 km away and parked at a bus stop. Police informed and sent the wildguard. Then first the car to inspect. Then what should I say: nothing to see at all! But that doesn’t have to be called anything. Today early brought the car to the workshop and now the result: nothing! Apart from prints on the inside of the front aprons, everything is ok. Crash structures, driving station, spotlights, clogging mass to the cucklings. But this morning the car has to be brought to the workshop and now the result: nothing! Apart from prints on the inside of the front apron, I couldn’t believe it was a total damage.

Why is it so hard…
I’ve been driving my S40 for 5 years and wanted to treat myself to a new one a year ago. Unfortunately, I had a lot of bad luck with my car when it comes to the repairs. But almost everything was covered from the warranty. Unfortunately, Volvo behaves differently than kulant in terms of kulanz. But that’s another topic…I’ve already tested some cars and not a single one was in line with my expectations. Either the driving behaviour was not right or one was uncomfortable. And it was all so-called premium brands. If it goes on like this, I’ll drive them in 2 years. Also I’ve tested the V40…a really good car. Unfortunately, I got annoyed about Volvo right at the time. Wg. about 70€. Maybe I have strange demands??? I really don’t know. As long as there is no better one, I won’t buy a new one from another “stall”.

Side panel no longer automatically lowers
A week ago we had snow and ice. The side panes were frozen, so that the automatic lowering could not work when the door was opened. Now everything is thawed again, since then the window on the driver’s side has not been lowered and lifts itself automatically. Manually, however, the window can be driven up and down quite normally. Isn’t there a trick to calibrate the windows? Thanks for the tips!

Confusion when specifying timing belt change V50 1.6 Petrol
Hello, I have read here in the forum, in maintenance plans of Volvo and Ford various information about the interval of the timing belt change and am now somewhat irritated, because I would like to risk a damage here. Vehicle: V50 1.6 gasoline Zetec-SE Ford Alu engine. 123.000 KM BJ 07 / 2005 Regular maintenance, but first timing belt. During the last maintenance in April 2013 at 107.500 KM I was not pointed out about an upcoming change. The car was already almost exactly 8 years old information that can be found about this: Change at – 120tkm or after 8 years ( you find more often in the net or here in the forum ) – 140tkm or after 7 years or mx 10 years ( maintenance plan ) – 160tkm or after 10 years ( maintenance interval at Ford Focus ) Since I have now 123,000 on it and in the 8.5 year I am somewhat unsure!? I actually wanted to make it during the inspection next spring. If the installed tooth belt is critical or susceptible to it ? After maintenance plan I am not even still a bit of time. But I still have a bit of time.
