  • Brakes – V50 – with how much KM change

    Hello, just one more question 🙂 I bought my V50 with 39,000 km – it was rather short distance driven. Since then I drove about 2500 KM, almost only motorway. The brakes work perfectly, but are not very noise-free. One could call the noise scraping or grinding. No squeezing, does not pull in one direction either. Often it is also caused by frost – especially in damp weather. Do you know this ? Greeting & Thanks Elchtest

  • Starter battery exchange at C70 2.4i

    Hello dear forum, two weeks ago I wanted to get my C70 out of the winter break and drove to the underground car park/double parker to replace the vehicles. No sign of life at the C70 when activating the radio key (he has an alarm system…). Well, called the ADAC and he could revive it with a power bench. After that the car drove out of the TG and checked the charging power again at the surface of the earth… the ADAC man measured 63A, what goes out of the light engine in the battery and 9A in the vehicle. He said that this would not be a bad value for an 80Ah battery and meant that I probably didn’t have to change urgently. The battery has a sticker 2016, so I don’t want to complain. After 4-5 years, the things are just through. Now I’m looking for a power bank start aid and a new battery, mine is a lead acid, no AGM. In the TG I don’t want to keep groping around besides starting aid, so that I don’t have to fall under the double parkers. If someone has a tip for start aid/power bank, I don’t want to change the battery for me, I can’t let it be good for the battery.

    Hello Volvisti, We are looking for a new car for my wife (aka OHL). After many test drives and rolling through countless catalogs various manufacturers are now 2 candidates left. Basic requirements were: gasoline, automatic (minimum 5-speed), air conditioning, seat heating, etc. The 2 candidates are: – Lancia Delta 1.8 T-Jet (200hp) and 6-speed AT; quasi full equipment (platino incl. panoramic roof, parking automatic, etc.) – Volvo V50 2.4i with 5-speed AT; summum with a bisserl frills on top of that price are both at a level. The driving performance at Lancia is better, but that’s not decisive (in the V50 there would be also the T5…). Lancia says the belly; sometimes something new – and the car has convinced with the test drives. But the head says Volvo – drive only Volvo and am satisfied for years. My wife likes both cars equally well… If you could take the pink Volvo glasses (Danianiel would take them).

  • Key forgets sitting position

    My C30 (D5 GT, MY 2008) with electric seats does not remember the sitting position. As a first measure I replaced the batteries, did not bring any change. Then the:-) put the keys back, did not bring anything. If I turn on the two keys and both sitting positions directly in a row and close everything works. the seat drives when the door is opened into the last set position. But if a day is in between there is nothing left to drive. Finally, I open the door with my key, nothing happens, put the seat with the memory button in my position, drive and lock again. When I then get back in 10min later, the seat drives into the position of my OHL when the door is opened. Has anyone ever had this, or has any idea what that could be? Will the position be stored in the key or in the vehicle? Greeting Jens

  • Noise engine front passenger side

    Hello together… on my car there was a problem recently that after hot driving there were noises from the engine compartment. The search was caused by strong vacuum in the area of the valves. The pressure compensation then probably via camshaft seals or valve lids… The symptom has now been fixed (two 5mm holes in the valve lid). But the reason is not. Therefore the question: How does the pressure compensation usually happen ? Can it come to such a large vacuum? In the meantime the engine control light occasionally goes on. The on-board computer does not show any message. OBD II causes the message mixture to lean. Theoretically this can be related to the additional “ventilation”. What do you think about it?

  • V50 suddenly doesn’t start anymore

    Hello together, Since a good year, I am proud V50 2,4l owner. Actually also totally happy with the car. Yesterday I turned my car off at home and wanted to start again after 2 hours approx. Zack car no longer starts. Starter battery is full and has no big voltage drop. Key battery is also quite fresh. I ignition in position 2 is normal the ignition, without warning messages or other unusual events, ignition in position 3 it remains with it. I ignition quite normal, radio and inside light remain however also on ( in position 3 switches off normal everything ). Starter I checked, which is i.o. Nothing is stored in the error memory. Is there any problems with the ignition lock or with the immobilizer with the V50? I’m slowly a bit helpless… if you still have other ideas then gladly out with it.

    Good morning together! Maybe someone can give me a tip. The Navi in my V50 will open normally after switching on and while opening up you will see the normal display. Once it has reached the final position, the screen will turn black. When folding you will see the display again. I suspect a cable break. Before I build everything apart now, I would like to know if there is someone here who has had a similar problem before. If yes, how was the problem solved?     Hi people! Our new one has been on the doorstep since yesterday – and also unfirst Volvo: a V50 (not yet facelifted but new car) 1.6 diesel as momentum + small extras It is titanium grey-metallic and drives at its peak (at yesterday’s first 250 km). Motot performance is quite enough for us, it is also really quiet inside. We drive almost never faster than 130 on the track. Want to arrive relaxed.. and for that this car is simply perfect. I will then report how happy we are with our elk. So far we had a group brother: Ford Focus Trend 1.6i from 2002. With this we have covered 80,000 km without a single defect. Only cover part: brakes at the front (but not because they were down, but because of rust from long standing – thus rubbing). Cut consumption after 80,000 km: 6.54 liters Super-league on 100 km – that can be held out!
