  • Volvo v50 1.6D coupling problems

Hello dear Talker, My v50 has problems with the clutch, clutch pedal stays now and then just down, I have to then make the car up the pedal and pump several times (if it comes back then) , now I had the car on 28.02.21 brought to the workshop, and I was told until yesterday he would not get any parts, on my question what would have been broken … the main cylinder. (Which is now the main cylinder?) I picked up the car yesterday statement I was able to drive with but has to pull the pedal back again and again, Very nice is of course super almost 4 weeks without a car with 2 children, for nothing. I called yesterday directly at volvo and asked how it looks like whether the parts have been in stock because I don’t want to miss out on the car again 4 weeks, and those who thought they would have to look which cylinder is broken and then it would take at most 4 hours… had someone already the same problem and can tell me which cylinder is meant by it ? Thank you and dear greetings

  • V50 D2 – Starter battery type – Can you take it?

Hello to the round, I think I should miss my V50 1.6 D2 (motor code D4162T) this year a new starter battery. I have had frustrating experiences with the lead batteries before. I don’t think anything of Varta: They have rested forever on their laurels from submarine times and apparently hardly invested anything. For my previous car I had bought a banner battery with Ca technology from Austria. Although it had 2 or 4 Ah too much capacity, but in their 14 years NIE mucked. (Has sold the thing in the end even good conscience for 10 EUR.) I have now looked for a suitable Banner-Bleiakku (see selection in graphics), but really nothing fits there. Dimensions, capacities ok, but the cold test current is almost always too low (except the model of Exide). How decisive is this feature? Can I still take the Banner Power Bull P74 12? Thank you for your opinion! Enjoy the sun! Graamand Graamand!

  • C30 Door lock Errors DDM-6C05 and DDM-6C08

Moin people, for some time now the following errors are stored in my C30 Mj2008: DDM-6C05 central locking motor M2. Fixed in active position DDM-6C08 central locking motor M3. Fixed in active position The function of the ZV is given. The error occurs immediately after deletion. The spare part is available as a version with (31416681) and without (31253657) secured closing position. My questions: 1.) Has someone already had experience with this fault picture and can support it? 2.) How do I recognize which version is installed without expanding the part? Thanks and nice weekend. VG Malte P.s. Googlen and SuFu has not really contributed to the solution so far.

  • V 50 Headlight washing system

Servus mitenander, have with my v50 a small but nevertheless annoying problem: The headlight washing system at the front left does not drive again correctly, i.e.: it works generally but the flap looks out after the operation still a centimeter, was recently for inspection in the workshop, but they also have no right opinion. Somehow it can not be sense of the thing that I press it again by hand. Does anyone know what is there? How is the system actually moved in since some tooth rail or similar that could be jammed / adjusted? Thanks already in advance

  • Volvo V50 T5 AWD with 30 mm Eibach and 8×20 MS Design 235/30 R20

Soo after the last 20 inch post is forever ago I would like to present here my chassis / rims combination to the question what fits and where you have to work to clarify! So I have Eibach 30 mm springs in connection with Sachs Advantage Dämfern and all crossbars, sockets etc. installed and me from MS Design the MS18 8×20 ET45 (normal for the Ford Focus,Kuga, etc.) and in black gloss powder coated. With respect to the tires: 225/30 R20 is not enough due to the 85ers load index! So I had to go to 235/30 R20! after some problems with the HA regarding stripes I had more concerns that when the tires are fully impacted the inner Kotflügel diss….. Mhm… so I risked and see there: front and back no problems! So I do not know any FWD vehicle and assume that the AWD is a little higher. Vl. an advantage. Whether you can transfer this experience to the S40 / C30 I can also leave some of them with the screws!

  • T5 Engine

Day together, bin am überber vom 2.4i mit 170ps auf den t5 motor mit 220 pferdchen to switch (used), alone the turbocharger and the all-wheel drive speaks to me very much, but I would like to hear from a couple of people who want to sell me nothing sometimes their personal opinion, with the dealer is of course always the best and most economical engine in the world … So if one of you has a t5 engine in his Sweden / had I would like to know: – how much do you pay with your insurance? -how much fuel does he swallow with what driving mode -how much taxes do you pay -how are you generally satisfied with your engine? Please also write about what for a year of construction and which model I drive a v50 year 2004, 2.4i engine with 170 and built-in LPG system, the consumption is at such about 12 liters Innerorts, however the liter gas costs with us only 71cents. Per 100km I pay therefore approx. 9.50€ If I get a model with the t5 engine, I will also let myself build up again an LPG system for every case thanks for your feedback already!

  • Underbody protection

Hello, if you want to install an underbody protection later on with an annual car, how would the procedure be? The question is, if you can then preserve the previously stuck dirt/drain through the underbodywax and thus lead to possible rust problems? Is an underbody wash in the wash road effective enough? What means would be recommended for the subsequent installation? Thanks for notes, Gustav

  • Massive A-pillars

Hello, do the A-pillars also seem to be enormously massive to you? At entrances and exits and at intersections, my wife and I always have “bammel” to overlook someone who is (or that) covered by the A-pillars. In the V 40, however, one had a magnificent view. Likewise in our old Audi 80. Does this relate to the topic of safety? Is this particularly pronounced with the current manufacturers generic or with Volvo? Is there no shortage, we just notice. I’m curious if you feel it that way, since the forum (m. E.) does not say anything about it. Frdl. Greeting!

  • Comparison V50 – V70

Hi, because I had my V50 2.0 D in the workshop today, I came to the “genuss” to drive a V70 with the 163 HP diesel as a replacement car. My subjective impression: bigger is better – wrong There, where the V50 wiesselflink goes around the corners (e.g. in the underground garage) or can run smoothly over narrow, only slightly curvy country roads, one has to fight with the V70 correctly. A step on the gas pedal and the car runs – wrong at least with the V50. With the V70 you have to be rather the feeling on board a ship: one hears the moter turn up, but takes only hesitant lay off of the Dampersteg. Inside is correct place – only partly the luggage room is really huge. At the front the exuberant interior equipment makes the room impression in the V70 again a good piece of unresolved. However, is already more place than in the tailor-made V50. The surcharge for the V70 is moderate – wrong from me. The V70 had not got the sales sign with the radio list yet.

  • V50 2.0D – What was that?

After about 10 km the car starts to buck (not jerking), takes gas only sporadically and stutters. I fled on a dirt road. Car started off again – now suddenly also the tank warning lamp starts. What now – I ́m walking, tatata. After filling in 5 liters of finest diesel, the car started and hopping towards the petrol station. Shortly before the engine goes off. After a few minutes again and meanwhile with rage in the belly, full gas, squeaking tires and see there, the Volvo runs like a one. With subsequent refueling I got 42 liters, with the 5 liters from the hiking inlay makes 47 liters of fuel. However, the capacity of the tank reaches 55 liters. Does anyone have an explanation, since it can probably not have been located on the lack of fuel. Greetings bkpaul
