  • V50 Lowering + Track plates

Hello, I am driving a V50 with 17″ “Spartacus” rims and 205″ tyres. I have now ordered for front and rear 35mm H&R lowering springs. For my taste, the wheels are a little too far in the rear wheel box and I would like to build up a harmonious optics distance disks. I thought about 20mm per wheel (40mm per axle) the whole only back. White jmd if there could be experience with the wheel boxes in this combination? n Change wheel boxes and do without harder shock absorbers as well. Would be happy if you could help me.

  • DPF additive already due at 40,000 km?

Dear Forum, my C30 1.6D Drive was recently at the contract workshop for the 40,000m inspection. What surprised me a little bit: The DPF additive was filled up, cost the already mentioned here several times approx. 100 EUR for material. On my demand, why already at 40tsd-km was refilled, the master showed me the service plan (this checklist-like expression, above the vehicle data, then the list of works due). In the header was clearly the 40,000-inspection. Did something change? Interval from 60 to 40-Tsd. shortened? Does someone know what? And immediately another question was not made. Brake fluid, for example, thought that would be due at 40tsd, but was not in the said service checklist. Does this fit? Did something change here? When should it be changed now?

  • Watch out for this car!

If you are interested in the car here, be careful!http://suchen.mobile.de/…/205959533.html This is my age C30 (see below!). Even the letters to the C30-Forum are still there… It was obviously turned at the kilometer stands. I sold the car with approx. 205tkm (according to the sales contract as well!). Now it has suddenly only 198tkm! I don’t want to know what else was done! Otherwise the car was so great… Nu https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2947/15368320511_b72fe50de2_b.jpghttps://farm4.staticflickr.com/3891/15184977687_773db92b41_b.jpg

  • S40 2.4 – Drowning/tubes/rumming when starting

We drive two Volvos with the 2.4 petrol engine, one V50 (2010; 50,000km) and one S40 (2007; 124.000km); both machines, thus quite well comparable. The S40 has for some time a very rough, loud, roaring engine at the cold start. Comes from the engine compartment and sounds a bit as if the exhaust was leaking at the front. When driving off the car the noise is quite loud. Over the first 500m-1000m or so the engine noise becomes always quieter and then normal. The consumption is around the 7.1 L (is cruise route in Switzerland), it needs some oil (100 to 150ml/1000km), rarely it squats briefly when running on the highway. After warm starts the S40 behaves quite normal, hardly up to no tubes/crumbs… The question is now: what can this lie on? Let the worry and workshop check or drive up to the service (is at 130,000km, approx. mid-October)? Thanks, all on all sides good journey and bes te Greetings Peter p.s.: by the way, the engine noise has nothing to do with the higher turning idle when starting, that’s what our S40 and the V50 do over the first 30sec at the stand or until you put the automatic on R/D and start driving.

  • Engine damage after oil dilution V50

Hello dear Volvofans, now comes: Volvo V50 2006 Year of manufacture Engine: Diesel D5 Gearbox: Automatic Km: 25000 already has the third engine after two engine damage due to oil dilution! 1. Engine damage and change was at approx. 23000km (only engine change) 2. Engine damage and change at 25000km (motor change + injectors + turbocharger) Has anyone ever heard of this? OIL RENEWAL ! I suspect the oil dilution comes from the automatic regeneration of the particulate filter and the The vehicle always seems to try to regenerate the particulate filter. Volvo is currently testing and testing! It is not an isolated case … check your oil level before changing the oil! The oil is very thin and smells like diesel. To the engine damage it is actually only at full load on the highway. Volvo has no explanation yet…do you have a? are you aware of other cases? Thank you and greetings Grisu86

  • Add and install Parrot 3200 LS-Color, what do you have to consider?

Hello guys, I’ve just built a Parrot 3200 LS-Color from my old V50 (see photos) I don’t know what’s clear with 4 cables, because I think I’ve pulled off a part of the waterfall console now, but I can’t immediately check that because the battery of the old V50 is almost empty. It’s a red, black, orange and yellow cable from the blue box of the Parrot into the car interior. The yellow cable seems to pull somewhere towards the trunk. The red cable went towards the ignition. You can see the cables clearly in the photos. Since these cables ran from the car into the Parrot, and I have now pulled them off, I wonder where these cables have to lead now without the Parrot in the Volvo. Or can I just leave them in the air? Can someone help me? I know the description is very vague and the Parrot is already an older model… I just found a Youtube video, at m However, the kit seems to have been installed a little differently:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Cmmq4Bf__M Thanks for a few tips 13112617

  • Timing belt change and water pump

Hello dear, our V50 2,0 D, year 10/2004 has now 210000 Km on the clock. Now we think of course so slowly about the timing belt change…prescribed probably at 240,000 Waiting for the last pusher, we don’t want that. Now I just called a Volvo workshop and the nice lady said, around the 950 Euro and if the water pump was with it, she doesn’t know. Well, if that costs so much, then we have to live with it. Now comes the very big “abe r” .. There are also quite free workshops and we also have someone who at least changes the timing belts at other car brands in a “tank shop”. For that I would have to buy the material (as he then passes through me). I remember my old Opel even earlier, that was really not a thing. But “formerly” was a long time ago and Opel is not Volvo. So what do? Volvo, Free or “College”? Is special tool necessary? From the belly I would say, free works att. What do you think? Greetings Grille

  • Glass damage Windshield

Hi together, My V50 parked outside in wind and weather and unfortunately survived the storm on Saturday not completely harmless. In any case I have since been on the driver’s side at the lower end of the windscreen (in the black area) star-shaped cracks, one of which reaches about 8cm in the transparent area and is also visible from the inside. The damage was probably caused by a wooden block (at least that was still on the ventilation grid). Neither from the outside nor from the inside is however m I’m not sure if an exchange is really a good idea after the experiences I’ve been doing with workshops for the past few years. And if so, rather to the friendly one, who knows how to remove the claddings, but has less experience in bonding or to a glass specialist, who has a lot of experience in making them look good, and who knows how to remove them. How are your experiences? Thank you and have a nice evening! Greeting famai

  • V50 stands at the Volvo dealership for over 2 years

Good evening! It’s about this car: https://www.comparis.ch/carfinder/marktplatz/volvo/v50/15185853 The car is currently on an uncovered stand at the Volvo dealership. It would also have a certain warranty (but I’m not sure if it would still be valid after the 29 months…). What would be special when buying it? Is it even advisable to buy a car that stood at the dealership for so long?
