  • Which headlights really fit ??

VOLVO V40 Kombi (VW) 1.9 DI Kombi 03/99 – 07/00 95ps Hello all together, After a long search in the topics I found unfortunately nothing to my problem. And indeed I did not come through the TÜV because my right headlight is oxidized from the inside (reflector). But now I wanted to change all the lights (both headlights + both turn signals ) because they are also not so beautiful from the outside. But in the search I encountered problems with the year of my V40. 9101 809 have the year of construction 03/99 – 07/00 and according to ID number is my V40 B.j 2000. At Ebay I find even a whole set (both headlights + indicators) of Polar Parts however these are ONLY from 08/00 The poles (4-pole) even agree but according to the key number would fit only for a stronger model (102ps + 115 ps) and only from 08/00 i.e. only one month later than my…. My question now : do not really fit these to my Volvo or is the bottom here is the article: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Spotlight-Blinker-Set-Clear-chrom-Volvo-S40-08-V40-2000/301918612867?fits=Make%3AVolvo-Model%3AV40+Kombi-Type%3A1.9+DI&hash=item464bc06d83:g:adsAAOSwjwlXA8~r For my exact year of construction there is unfortunately no set and at Polar Parts this is a headlight that I do not have to change naturally in stock and besides you would certainly see the difference if I only exchanged this one… Thanks for every help LG Big Daddy

  • Connections Headlights?

Moin together. I installed clear glass headlights in my V40 2.0T ’98 H7. With one the reflector disc was burned. New ordered, installation is no problem. Now I have found that I have 6 cables on the wire harness running to the headlight. However, there are only 5 connected. (photo & colors follow tomorrow) Now my question – does anyone know what the sixth cable could be for? The moose is an import vehicle – so much I know. (In the vehicle license is V30, TSN is ge Light turns on the following: • Ignition on, main light switch on 0 -> everything, except stand light • motor on, main light switch on stand light -> everything on, except the stand light • motor on, main light switch on dipped light -> everything on incl. stand light Confused greetings & beautiful Easter days Manuel

  • Planned purchase of a Volvo V-40

Hello, we are planning to buy a V-40 in the summer. Viewed purchase price so around 2000,- . Desired engine 1.6 or 1.8 l. There are already models from year 2000. We have already looked here and there and I have seen that the models on the fenders are very rusty. Unfortunately not so in the Volvo matter, therefore we would be grateful for tips. What is to be observed? I noticed that there are relatively few models with sliding roof. Thanks

  • Child safety rear door

Hello Volvo community, I have a question. A friend of mine has a Volvo S40 from 1997. What does he need for the child protection of the rear door. Only the switch of the armature board or something else. He says the cable with blue plug is already there. Thank you in advance.

  • Clutch defective and then the still……

Meal, today was a real Schei****tag. This morning I brought our moose with defective clutch to the friendly, with 200tkm on the clock I can not be angry about :-/ The estimate amounted to EUR 977,- The following works should be carried out: – Change coupling and release cylinder – Change simmering of the crankshaft on the transmission side (the TÜV has moaned). Today the master calls me at noon and announces the good news: Two-mass-Sch wungrad (ZMS) defective, costs again 974,- Great, I should have sold the box before the repair…. Can someone tell me if there are test procedures to test the part? I found nothing in the technical documentation…. I still called different parts dealers, but the part is not available anywhere. Ner the price should be good, 570,- incl. VAT. I immediately put the master, that I want to have all the replaced parts in the trunk to control. Bin i who actually invented the Schei**** with the two-mass swing wheel? Greeting, M :-/

  • Selling or repairing

Hello, my moose has to go to the TÜV in two months, which won’t make it any more. Furthermore, no TÜV-relevant repairs are necessary – all in all, I’m not sure if I should separate or stay true to myself. Maybe you can give me advice or recommendations here. To the Volvo: V40, 2001, 1.6 (109 hp), 110tkm, comfort equipment (tempomat, 4x elt. window lifter, 6x airbag, partial leather, climate control, on-board computer), fog lights, color: Blueb erry, brake system completely new, camshaft setting servo new, air mass meter new, ignition lock new (300Euro), set of winter tyres new (400 Euro) To the defects: – stabilizers and crossbars rear – timing belt change necessary – clutch cylinder leaks – 1x wiper water pump broken – fuel pump has to be changed – Scheppern front left (probably crossbars / stabilizers) = approx.2000-2500 Euro Thank you in advance!

Hello Volvo friends ! So … now unfortunately I found only with tragic background on this page. My beloved V40 almost no longer lives – at least the heart (motor ) stands still. Have you heard about it – the car is Bhj. 11/99 and has now 119,000 km down – 500 km before the next inspection – well – and now the timing belt has torn and has taken the engine right into the beyond. Although the car was bought only in October ́04 – no guarantee (according to Volvo F And now ? Helpless and sad (I had just decided for Volvo because of the so praised reliability ) What do you have for experience ? Perhaps also tips? Thanx Britta & Flo

  • Upgrade board computers in Ph.2 (BJ 2003)

Hello since I have my V40 now (see click here ) I would like to upgrade the board computer as long as this is not too expensive. In the SuFu I found unfortunately almost only threads for the retrofitting of the board computer in phase 1. Since I have a phase 2 however, I would like to know to what extent this retrofitting is difficult/priced? That should be a lot easier than in the Ph1, because the amature board does not have to be replaced. My questions: 1. Since the cable for the BC switch should already be in place, I wonder if it really is enough to buy and connect the BC switch…. Are the sensors already pre-installed in every V40 (Ph.2)? 2. If only the BC switch really needs to be retrofitted, is it enough if I let the board computer unlock? 3. Is the BC switch for phase 1 compatible with that of phase 2 (I don’t think personally) 4. What would it cost on average? 5. Is the BC switch for phase 1 compatible with that of phase 2 (I don’t think personally) 4. there are a few good sources where you can get the BC switch? At the bay you will unfortunately only find the switch for phase 1. Thanks already in advance for the answers
