  • New headlamps for V40 Built 98 Phase I 2.0 Turbo

    Hello all, I have a question for you: My elk has quite funky lamps, I would like to put H7 lamps in. An inquiry from the dealer resulted in an offer for the following headlights: Vehicle equipment: for vehicles with light-width control (electric) Lamp type: H7/H7 Scatter disk design: crystal-clear scatter disk equipmentvar. TURBO T4, SP. EDITI. Number of connections 5 As far as, so good. However, I have no pins on my old headlight. I have uploaded some pictures to you. Is there an adapter for, or do you have to make it yourself? Probably someone has done this here in the forum, but the link to the description unfortunately goes to the void (elchschreck.de).     Hello dear forum community. I’ve been having a problem since recently. My engine knocks, nails, or whatever you might call it. I’ve already handled the Sufu on extreme mishandling and partly. Problem started with unround motor running. I’ve done the following: Coils are already new, but again tested with others – no improvement idle controller cleaned – without improvement gasoline pressure regulator/limiter removed and the small gasket replaced because this was porous – while standing the car about 2 weeks. Car started and see there – runs wonderful, ABER: Now the engine knocks (video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_Ohl7LMk6Y&feature=youtu.be ) Have the screws pulled from the scrumptle to the turbo and 2, which were bolted out also lightly? The suck-up curved screws are still pulled – thanks to loose under and pressure hoses (the thin ones) were already controlled and neatly attached (something to change) – no remedy- and filter change with 5Wanks is not possible.

  • Volvo v40 Built 1996 85kw Gasoline roof rail missing…

    Hello, I got a nice V40 from 1996 with 85 kw at 225700 km into my hands. The good piece comes from loving hands we look good, got TÜV a year ago without complaint and is well maintained. Runs clean, everything well except for a little rockfall on the hood and a few small scratches/macks. Unfortunately he does not have a roof rail but only on each side three recording points (grey stoppers in grey plastic profile). Since I want to mount a roof box, I probably need the rails. Is this for subsequent installation (without ripping off the roof sky) or is it such a plug-in system…? And is there the manual somewhere to download…? Thank you! …it is my first Volvo!

  • Lamp change Faucets lighting (ventilation) V40

    Hello, I have a V40 Bj. 3/99 Diesel with climate (I think manually, because I can not set a degree number, but can only control the heat regulation). In other articles I read that the lamp replacement should be relatively easy. I could simply pull off the buttons of the two switches (ventilation strength and direction of the air supply). But then comes a white plastic part with 2 “nips”, which can not be pulled out easily. Did the two “nips” with pliers bend a bit inwards, but the thing still could not move out of the disguise. To break nothing, I stopped this attempt. Can anyone give me a hint? Many greetings!

  • Simpler method to check charge air and turbo hoses

    Hello people, after I have now tightened the charging air and turbo hoses in several places and replaced the seal at the suction bridge, my problem with the pressure loss is not solved. Again my problem: When I give gas I hear air escapes like somewhere. Sometimes louder, sometimes quieter and sometimes not at all. The “not at all” is (my observation after) only when the car has stood longer, mostly when it has been warmed up by the sun. When I speed up, the turbo nicely builds up pressure and then quickly walk away from the gas, I hear again how the excess air escapes somewhere where it should not. At least it sounds like that for me. That’s a blow-off… as I said, when the car has stood up, this is not the case (sometimes) but I can’t predict now when everything is in order and when it doesn’t. That comes and just goes away… So now my question: Is there any easy way to check all air hoses for cracks etc.? All I’ve come to, I’ve already looked at and feel like it’s not like a little bit of trouble.

  • front axle (?) jerks/pulses, brake pulsates to the pedal

    Hello, municipality! maybe someone can give me a hint: my V40, 80 KW, EZ 06/2000 makes me feel after several weeks of standing outdoor problems, which were previously definivly not recognizable in the set: it is from the front axle (thought it would be at the back) a jerking/pulsing to feel (all city traffic speed, higher sw. not tested yet), and when I then on the brakes climb up (strong or weak = no matter) the brake pulsates very strongly and you can feel the whole thing very clearly in the pedal! brake effect is however excellent as always…! no grinding noise to hear – thought only on rust on the disk. what can that be? at other places I read from loose brake disc!? but how should the suddenly loose, if the car stood for weeks only? problem occurred already on the first meter! who knows what? many gruesses from HH andreas

  • V40 1.8 jerks on speeding up

    Hello, our 03 V40 1.8 petrol truck has been speeding since yesterday. The car starts normally, runs evenly in idle mode and if you carefully keep the speed running nothing. If you step through a little harder, however, the engine jerks like crazy. What could that be?
