Evening, and that’s what I want to know now, if I can build in any double-din radio at the v40 or if it might not fit at all (e.g. if it has any intention or other limitations). I plan to get a new double-din radio from Kenwood. and wanted to know in advance if this works.

LiMa eats V-belts
Hello together, just – at least I think that- my alternator said goodbye and nicely eat the poly-belt the same way. A new poly-belt should not be a problem, but what does it look like with the generator? Does it necessarily have to be new? It can be turned perfectly, but somehow the belt disc from the generator “walked away”, I think that also destroyed the belt. Now I have read something about generators with “freewheel” and that you can probably repair it seperately? Only I can’t really imagine something under freewheel with a generator… I once took two pictures so you know what I mean with wandering away. Thank you already! mfg EDIT: Another picture from the inner of the belt disc, looks somehow not good…

Automatic sports switch on the S40 I 1.8, what happens anyway?
Hello Volvonauten! after more than 12 years of gentle handling of the well running S40 phase one I sometimes use the sports button. Mer Kraft is provided, the acceleration is better, as far as clear. Does this change anything about the driving characteristics? The operating instructions are not quite clear, is the suspension set differently, or is there simply more Ps with activated sports circuit?

Clear varnish experts here?
Is someone working here in a car paint shop by chance? I have clear varnish (metallic paint) on the roof and on the front bumper and are looking for a solution to seal the still relatively small places permanently……Clear varnish pen from Volvo and BMW-Clear varnish from a spray can have held exactly half a year And as soon as the places are free again, rain/frost and dirt ensure that the places slowly become larger again. True it is that one uses in professional workshops 2K-Lak. Can one with it also small places permanently seal. It does not have to be nice, only durable. Now is unfortunately too dark to make pictures… The largest place is about 3×4 cm.

Right outside mirror!
Hello friends! I have a little problem with my V 40, BJ: 2003, MJ: 2004, 90 kw 122 hp, automatic AW/ 50-42, motor B4184S2. The right exterior mirror housing is a little loose in the anchoring in the door, compared to the left exterior mirror housing. To the functions: Both mirrors can be folded on to the doors, by hand. Both mirrors as well as the rear flap are heated bar. Via a joystick in the driver’s door I can change the position either the left or right mirror in the housing. But that all works. The case for the mirror is a little loose at the passenger’s door and would like to screw it down yourself. Can you please write me how to put it on?

Speedometer exchange from Ph1 to Ph2
Moin together! Maybe someone can answer this question to me… I have a 2001 V40 T4, this one has the old phase 1 speedometer in it. Now I got a cheap information switch with the corresponding phase2 speedometer over the grid. Is it possible to wire the Ph2 speedometer in my car? Of course the plugs would have to be taken over by the Ph2 speedometer, but they were there. I don’t get quite smart from the circuit diagrams, so I ask here if someone has done this already or not.

Volvo V40 1.6 Klappert very loud
Good evening, I’ve had a V40 1.6 EZ 06/2000 for about a week. The oil in this one was bad black, but has already been changed. Both the brake calipers were attached to the handbrake at the rear, but they have already been fixed. One problem remains: It nails like a diesel, both hot and cold, when starting extremely loud, but falls off after a short time and gets a little quieter, but stays constantly loud and good to hear. I have not found a video of my own yet, but I found one on Youtube where it sounds the same way:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_Ohl7LMk6Y Does anyone know what that is and what you can do about it?

V40 2.0T moves to the left after driving on the motorway
Servus people, after I drove my V40 now almost 10tkm (now about 220tkm) something happened. We drove yesterday with a fully loaded car to Prague. The whole track due to traffic is quite smooth (180-200 kmh) but without any problems, almost like on rails. On the return drive the car has become very restless in a long right curve, has somehow swollen and since then pulls very strongly to the left (depending on the road tilt times more times less). We drove then immediately on the side strip and looked at the tires/wheels which were completely in order but at all other speeds were. At the last 100km we drove then with 90 behind a truck and finally also came home. Mistakes: 1. The car drives very swamy 2. The steering pulls strongly to the left 3. at 90 kmh the steering wheel jerks, but at all other speeds it is still quiet 4. The car swings fast – the steering has not tested both – There is nothing visible at the drive train to the left 3rd at 90 kmh the steering wheel can’s swings, but at all the other speeds I did not have a bit to change.

Purchase advice
Hello everyone. I’ve got another Volvo V40 to buy. I have a 2.0l Turbo to buy, but I don’t know it so well. My current one is a 2.0l with 136ps. What should I pay attention to with the Turbo engine with 160ps? Thank you very much.

Newbie with questions
Hello dear Volvianer, since yesterday I am in possession of a 1998 S40 2.0T. I now have some questions/problems: 1. Tempomat does not work. So not at all. After the fuse we have already looked, which looks good. 2. The radio. I have upgraded the original SC-802 and my JVC radio installed. However, it does not save the settings. I have tried various wirings already, but with the original wiring the radio does not work at all. Now we have bought a double DIN from Kenwood and there it works just as little with the storage. Can this possibly be on the adapter from the original cable tree to ISO? 3. Brumbing and roaring in the interior. At speed <1600 and >3000 it is very noisy in the car. I think it comes from the exhaust system. Do you have perhaps another idea? On Tuesday I have an appointment in a workshop. The master at that time has learned himself from Volvo and perhaps knows some tricks and tricks. But I wanted to get the opinion of the old Volvo driver.
