per chance I found rust on the s40 by my brother on the front left of the bike run have attached a picture that I found in the net. it doesn’t look that bad yet, but it rusts right there. is that normal? we are very disappointed. the car was bought last year for expensive money at an official volvo representation.. volvo s40 t4 1999 243000 km run otherwise I found nothing regarding rust at the spot in the forum… what could be the reason? the car is sont top. s chade thanks and greetings

Hello community bought me a T4, year 97, as a butcher, I drove 420 km, which runs really well : ) but always starting from about 3000 tours starts the loader , I suppose, to whistles . That then becomes higher, if the speed rises, is that normal , did not have that with my C70 2.0t , can someone tell me something about it ? Thanks for the help already

Hi, everybody, I turned off my Volvo S40 1.8i BJ2001 last week. When I wanted to start again, he gave gas all the time when I was idle. I then stuck off the air mass meter and then he stopped it and had an increased speed of about 1200 revolutions. So I thought it was because of it and built a new one. After that the problem had not solved. throttle valve cleaned up. Intake checked if it was where Falsc hluft pulls (negative). Still the same thing. But if I drive now then he has, if I drive a slight slope like light dropouts and has hardly any power. He then jerks so lightly. Furthermore he had a round speed and a also too low speed in warm condition (500-600). And he also turned up at the cold start up to 2000 revolutions and then fell down to 1500. Hello guys, I’m interested in an S40 from Volvo. It should be a diesel(1,9D) but I have no idea what’s better. It should cost max. 15000EUR. What’s the S40?? What’s it like when it’s in consumption, works, biting parts,…. .Can anyone ever write their experiences about the Volvo S40?? What would you recommend to me for an engine and what should I consider when buying (km-stand,…)? Gasoline or diesel?? Would you be grateful for any help Gruss B4-fighter

I am not yet one of the Volvo owners but this could change already tomorrow I could get a V40 Bj 97 cheaply and I also like the car nevertheless there is a problem: the central locking is not possible and not at all. Neither via the key nor via the 2 remote controls nor via the switch over the radio, simply no function With the key in the driver’s door only this goes on the same also with the passenger door and suitcase raum. I’ve already read a lot of posts here in the forum but with the other threads only partially what doesn’t work. Could it just be the fuse or a relay? I don’t think the whole control unit is dead directly or would this be possible!?!!? Something else: the car has now almost 127000 down and the seller doesn’t know if the timing belt has been changed (is changed at 120000 or????) Which cover/folder can I open again after Would definitely change him if he doesn’t look so great anymore! Hello Ihrse, BJ 1997 TD 90 PS 152tkm wheel bearing according to 2 workshops and Tüv complete i.o. for some time a grinding noise bothers me while driving. It is best to hear it when rolling at idle speed. I would type it from the front but in the car it is very difficult to locate it. Was already in 2 workshops but they dismissed it as a rolling noise of the tires. To my opinion this can not be for the following reasons: 1. Also on the dirt road, where through the Unter 2. as soon as I step on the brake the noise is gone! 3. The tires are almost as good as new and with other tires (winter tires) I have the same noise. When I pick up the car I have a grinding noise at the back of every wheel crashing{ the workshop said that would be normal and not to be heard during the ride. (nothing can be heard on the front wheels when I turn the brakes) Brakes in front are also complete 2 months ago The sound disappears at about 50 km/h, but between 150 and 160 is again intensified … over 160 to limit lt.
