Hello, has someone ever had a V40 2.0T with 118KW upgraded to LPG? Does something have to be taken into account or are there recommendations, which gas system can be taken or better not? How are the experiences with the elks with LPG? My brother had a motor damage twice after the LPG conversion with his Vectra C with 2.2Ltr. engine. According to Opel-Werkstatt it was the LPG. Since he drove without LPG, the third engine runs perfectly. About helpful answers I would be happy. VG, Sebastian

When does something have to be done?
Hello, there is always something about the moose (my is n V40 2.0 T) to be replaced or renewed….and so slowly I completely lose the overview and am not sure when something has to be done. And I would be very grateful about this small list that I can add to the repair calculations in my folder so that I don’t forget anything and am on the running. Oil change: 1 x a year or every 15,000 KM spark plugs: 40,000 KM air filter/inner room filter: 1 x a year Timing belt: every 7 years or 80.000 KM brake fluid: ? Cooler frost protection: ? Air conditioning maintenance: every 2 years Would be great if one or another could still tell me what I forgot or could correct if I was wrong.

Your assessment of the legal situation? Shell’s tire pilot screwed up tires
Hello together, I just wanted to knock off your assessment of the legal situation with this thread and get some tips if necessary. On weekends I used a nail in one of my just 4000 km and 2 months old summer tires (running area, about 2 cm away from the edge). I then bought in a Shell petrol station their version of the tire pilot (Shell house stamp) and on Monday according to the application instructions applied. Now I drive this morning to the tire fuzzi to have the hole professionally patched, then it is told that this stuff makes the tire unusable and it does not let itself be patched any more. But now on the can of Shell word is written: “… At the nearest petrol station stop and the tire pump up with the correct pressure. Tires as soon as possible can be repaired…” From “tire afterwards unsusable” or “tire must be replaced” is nowhere to be spoken of. Following the product description I have already heard that the tire can be patched. Pustekuchen. Since I can’t buy a new tire exactly before I have to replace the replacement of shell without having to have the tires.

Handbrake problems
Hi, was this weekend in the workshop to have my brakes renewed. I also had the car checked out. At the check you have (allegedly – I didn’t notice anything about this before) then noticed that the hand brake does not work synchronously. Despite an exchange of the disc and the block only the hand brake is asynchronous and the normal brake does not work. I have to say that my V40 2.0 has four discs and thus also brakes at the rear. The rear brake does not work perfectly only the hand brake. Now the workshop has informed me that the brake cylinders have to leave the back. Is that right? I don’t understand that he brakes correctly with the foot brake and the hand brake does not. Can anyone help me here? Greeting Ma28

Central locking system
still a problem the other day when it was really cold again and I wanted to de-icing my elk he locked himself up. so from the front.I wanted to free my car from the ice and drive home – I started into the car, engine, out -tuer to and with the scratching started, then all windows were free I wanted to go back into the car but that was locked in the car (motor on, light on). Then after a long try and help from my best friend (DER BUB, best thanks again) came back in again. at home I tried out and see if you open the car with radio remote control, tuer closes, some time does not do anything, the car shuts itself in. of my knowledge it is normal that the car shuts out again, if you open it with radio remote control again and in a certain time I don’t open it, but I did not get in the car itself. now I know it is normal, that the car is closed again best if you open it up again and in a certain time I don’t know that it works.

Replace camshaft adjuster?
Hello dear Volvo drivers, I have the following problem that seems to be an illness with Volvo. My Volvo V40 2.0L (136 hp, BJ 2001) is running up and running. According to the contract workshop, the noise came from the camshaft adjuster. I replaced it after a few days with a new (260€!), because I wanted to get rid of this noise. Unfortunately, the change somehow didn’t work, my Volvo is still racing. Does anyone have the problem? What did you do? Have used the part now and my prefer not to take it back now :O Greetings

What oil do you think?
I know there are a lot of topics about this question, but I wanted to know what you are saying about it. I have recently given the Shell Ultra Helix 5w40 in my V40 and am actually satisfied. My mechanic recommended me a 5w40 and even the Shell Oil. I always look at Amazon and for comparison the Liqui Moly 5w40 has about 700 reviews ALL have given 5 stars and you can certainly say that it is a high end oil, among other things because it is MADE IN GERMANY and I am also of the opinion that the German quality is unbroken. My Volvo: V40 1.9d Bj 2004 105ps The Shell Oil 5w40 has only as Bsp just 70 reviews on Amazon, would you say that these reviews are decisive? Compared to the Liqui Moly it is actually no comparison since just so few people buy the shell or just don’t give any reviews. Would you say that in the case the Liqui Moly is ahead of the shell, mobile and so on quality??? Of course, you can’t just clasify that because of the reviews but LG still look forward to all your opinions.

Cable fire?
Hello. Drive a Volvo s40 1.8 Yesterday my light switch was smoking and my standing light didn’t turn on anymore. After the switch was removed, I noticed that the switch was over as soon as I switched to the 2 level. Stage 1 so day running light/standlight works. So I checked the lamps myself. Both h4 plugs were lost to unrecognizability. After I checked all the fuses and found out that none of them had gone, I started to ponder very much. Seat tongue without function, number panel lighting without function, tacho lighting without function and disc water pump without function. I have the standing light until I get my spare part clamped to the battery with a 15A fuse. So and now to my question: do all the problems disappear again as soon as I have a new working light switch? Why are all fuses still intact. What has light to do with the seat heating? Did I overlook fuses.

Rain sensor or programmable wiper relay
Moin, unfortunately, the search for the above mentioned topic did not come much from. Therefore the question again which solution there is and who has had what experience with its conversions. The question: Is there a programmable wiper relay that would fit with the V40 MY 2003 ?(had I changed at the S70, simply original for the 99 of VW) Alternative would be a retrofitable rain sensor, then only by which manufacturer and how good are these. Has any of you equipped a rain sensor over the last 2-3 years and if so, from whom and how is the experience worth it? Would I be happy if I even get only experience values from hearing / saying. Thank you in advance greeting Paul
