Hello you dear request for help or advice!! I bought two months ago a Volvo V40 Bj 2004 1.9d 105ps with full service book. The car has now about 185.xxx Tkm at the speedo. In the engine room I saw that the timing belt was exchanged with 89,000 Tkm in 2010 so exactly 10 years ago and just 100,000 Tkm. I paid the car only 2,000 Euro for it is completely clear I think it pays off now to change the timing belt or not, I would drive the car about 1 year still. I assume that the timing belt will cost me about 500 (panning roller, turning roller, flat belt and the water pump). To my actual question: PAY OF THE ZAHNRIMEN off, OBWOHL I QUASI ON 2000 EURO THE ELCH PAY??

Can older years of construction absolutely not be read out anymore ?
Moin together, question in the round: Has anyone else of you tried to read out his S/V40 from year ’95 or ’96 to possibly 2000? At my Bj ’98 (Mj.’99) a free workshop, an Opel , as well as a savvy private screwdriver and two Volvo workshops have tried to read out by now. There is simply no return… According to the one VolvoWorks which, out of personal interest of the boss, also likes to deal with old/youngtimers, it is probably due to the constantly new updates of the software, the older years of the year ( about 19 years) “fall down”… Can you confirm that? Would it be possible to read out anything with outdated software at all? Does anyone of you use an older reader or program? Does someone have a purchase link to it or has his old device yet to sell? In advance already best thanks for your answers ! the Manuel

Volvo S40/V40 BJ2000 Radio Exchanges
Hello dear community, At the moment I am using the original cassette radio from Volvo in my elk, which I want to replace so slowly. I have already bought a Radio DIN2 from JVC. I was aware that it will be different on the radio but I will not find it at Amazon etc.. Which adapter do I need exactly? I have the same problem with the antenna cable. Now to my second request. The mounting frame from the radio does not fit in the shaft, because Volvo has attached “rails”. Have already read here that you have to saw it off so that the radio fits in. Is there another alternative? Please have mercy with a Volvo beginner! Thanks already for the answers!

Lifetime LED headlights
Hello together Right at the front: I personally don’t like these headlights with the built-in LED floor light visually. I also don’t think they can keep up with the originals regarding illumination. Compared to the Hella headlights, they are at least a price-wise alternative: [url=http://cgi.ebay.de/…721QQcmdZViewItemQptZCar parts_ Zubeh%C3%B6r?…[/url] I would like to know what experiences you could gain with the LED lights installed in them (fix?). LEDs should last forever and two days if you believe in the statements. In practice, however, much cheap truth is used, which barely reaches the lifespan of normal light bulbs… How long do the LED machines keep in these V40 lamps from the Far East? And: Can you change the bulbs?

CLIMATE BEDING PART OF SOLD UMLUFT or STELLMOTOR does not function
Hello specialists, have again a problem with my V40 2002 At my climate control the switch for the circulating air does not radio.. lamp does not work on and the windows are fogging such a thing from and all around and this in the season. So I am of the opinion that the whole ventilation only runs on circulating air. Can someone tell me which cable assignment is responsible for the switch on the control panel of the climate control automatic !? (if you want to bridge then what should do) Maybe, however, only the bulb is defective and it is due to a actuator? Where is this to be found? Hope you can help me, because the wishing is already on my nerve! Thanks already in advance! LG

Volvo S40 T4 Ruckles while giving gas and has little power
Hello, my Volvo S40 T4 year of construction 99 Ruckelt while giving gas and also does not have the full speed also in idle run it runs bad. It seems to me as if he has ignition oscillations, I also want to check that tomorrow, or. you know if it can also have other clock things I know with the Volvo engines not so well. p.s. had yesterday in operation the air mass meter pulled off to test that, since that is the engine control light on, you know whether the one at some point goes out again or I have to delete the error manually, or. the engine now remains in emergency run ? mfg

Difference Motor 2.0l Turbo 163 hp and 2.0l T4 200 hp
Hello Have a question what is the difference between the 2.0 Turo with 163 hp and the T4 with 200 hp. What I got. The 2.0T with 163 hp Has less charging pressure like the T4 Has a higher VP like the T4 The T4 with 200 hp Has more charging pressure like the 2.0 Turbo Has less compression like the 2.0 Turbo Are the pistons changed with the T4 engine, or does the T4 have a different cylinder head where the compaction space is larger? Does the T4 also have the variable camshaft adjustment? In the 2.0 Turbo just like I drive the charge pressure just screw up might not be so good…Because it’s already relatively high compacted. Because I’m getting ready for a fresh engine, and maybe you could build it in the direction of the T4 engine. The block is from the 2.0 Turbo. Find that a few horses are more, very welcome.. Would be nice if he had more than 210 – 220 hp.

Poles on the front axle
Hello, I have a poltern on the front axle for some time now. Since I believed it was the lower engine bearings I replaced them with new ones but nothing helped since the poltern is still present. I have already renewed the coupling bars and the crossbars. Now my guess: one of the two top engine bearings, dome bearings, shock absorbers or the rubbers from the stabilizer. The noise always occurs with small unevennesses on the road during insertion or suspension. Does one himself have experience with the problem or what is rather defective with the V40? My question is addressed to you since I do not know exactly how to make a diagnosis. The mileage is approx.141000km, so still within the frame.

No more power after timing belt change
Hello together, I have the following problem and that: I changed the timing belt with my Volvo V40 1.8 today. I built everything apart and wanted to put the engine on OT. Then I turned the crankshaft and turned it on OT (The crankshaft) Look at the camshafts and notice that both camshafts do not cross with the Mackations… I then called in a workshop and I thought I should turn the engine on OT every time I did that… I built everything together and did a test drive…. I noticed that the Volvo has no full power anymore…. and the MIL lamp has arrived (The camshaft sensor is in the error memory!) Now I don’t think the control times are right anymore! (I checked the control times again! But the engine is 100& on OT!) And now I’m guessless…. Is there anything to do that??

High beam does not snap in, remains weak
Moin, am quite new here, so first of all hello to everyone! With my Volvo V40 Bj 2001 the main light does not snap after I pull the lever over stage 1 after stage 2. The light horn comes however. That is the same light as the main light, right? At the same time the bulb of the main light stays on, but only very weak… A mechanical problem is probably not or should a mechanical snap be noticeable at the lever? Oddly enough, it is also the case with me that when the main light lever is switched off, the dipped light (and not the main light) is correctly snapped in. If the engine is running again nothing. I pull the lever back (out of the first resistor of the light horn) and the main light goes on, while releasing again. Thank you for your answers! Pyfo
