Hello, (V40, BJ 1998 Phase 1, 2L, 140hp). Perhaps one of you can help me further, here my problem with the V40: In case of a cold engine it behaves quite normal. As soon as it gets warm, it starts to stutter on the 2nd and 3rd cylinder at half-perceived gas pedal. The ignition coil for the 2nd and 3rd cylinder, as well as all 4 spark plugs, have already been renewed. The compression has been measured and is at a fantastic 13,xx bar. The injection nozzles have been exchanged: from the 1st to the 2nd cylinder and from the 4th to the 3rd cylinder. The symptom remains the same. If you stay on the gas pedal, blue smoke comes out of the exhaust. Therefore, the compression has been measured to definitely exclude the cylinder head seal. The lamp for engine malfunction does not glow. Does anyone know of you such symptoms or can give a hint where to continue looking? Well-known mechanics are at the end with the Latin (but no Volvo special knowledge). Is there are diseases with this model? Where do you really want to look at me?

Hello municipality, for a long time let nothing hear from me….bin since December in or on Fuerteventura, at the end of November 3000 km from Cologne to Portimao (Portugal) with full car, roof rack, 2 wheels, roof box and full or rather overcrowded trailer…. My airbag lamp has been running permanently for a short time. I have read out the error in a Werstatt (not at Volvo) and he has read out the error. Code SRS-0125. Error cannot be deleted. The workshop has measured all the cables and does not find the error. ECU ok. As he said, it is probably a signal error in the system. Whatever that may be called. It is about the shoulder/head airbag (IC). However, it has not taken off the sky. There should probably be more cable connections there. Hello dear people, I have unfortunately again a new problem on my Volvo. After a clutch damage (about 170 Tsd.) (the workshop told me it is the printout bearing and has made the clutch new), is now two months later the gearbox broken. When driving there was suddenly no more drive, so the gears could be inserted quite normally just the car didn’t drive anymore. Now the workshop told me that there is a hole in the gearbox and the car would have lost a lot of oil. Can this happen now due to the previous clutch damage? Or was it already broken and was overlooked when the clutch was replaced? And my last question, the workshop meant that a used VW could be built in, which would not be so expensive. Is this really just so?? Would you like to hear a few opinions, I just don’t know if I should do that. Thank you very much!

As can be seen in the subject, the org. Volvo rims have “crater” and need new tires, which tyre size can I do maximum on it? There are 205/50R16 on it now! These are also available as max. in appearance, so if you can mount something bigger, they would have to be registered anyway. If you have a tyre tip, I would also be very grateful! Oh and what else….I have the V40 SportEdition, but without a sports suspension, the current chassis is already quite “soft”, you mean a conversion to sports suspension is worth it? What will that cost in some way? Now after 300 K km it’s time, the Stabi bushings (rubber bearings on the auxiliary frame) have been knocked out. Stabilizer can be moved, and there are bumps… Have VIDA the instructions to change the whole stabilizer and that looks very cumbersome. Has anyone ever managed to replace the rubber bushings without lowering the engine steering gear carrier and reported how he did it?
