Hello, since about 1 month I have a used V40 1.9D Sport BJ 2002. The car has 37tkm down. If I drive on the country road and turn off the radio I hear a noise when (quickly) let go of the gas pedal (to switch) as if something is ventilated or a flap is shut too slowly.. I don’t know exactly how to describe it but if I go off the gas there’s just this hissing. Do you know that maybe one of you? Maybe this is normal with a diesel? The used car dealer (swab garage) has made completely TÜV and so. Have also 1 year warranty. Do you think I should have another check something there? Thank you for your tips. Greeting, Marco PS: my current consumption: 6l with fast driving! Really great of the cars !!! (115hp)

The moose is ticking without end!
Hello dear friends and to all those who would send me to the moon! I have a very long thick problem with my V40! The V40 just doesn’t want to start, noodles itself a fairly during the start behavior, which takes up to 2 minutes, then it starts the engine. The engine control light has been lit for 3 -4 months with some breaks. I have changed everything at the ignition system now, what you can change, throttle valve has been cleaned. The LMM has been tested, is ok. Air filter has been renewed and the annual engine oil change 2018 has been already. The cat has been checked-is ok. The 1st Lambdasonde control probe has been replaced by a new one. Since the engine ran 14 days without interference. Then it went off again with very bad start and engine control light was again. I made a diagnostic test in a workshop. Result: 2. Lambdasonde diagnosis is very broken. Again a few weeks ago I bought a new Lambdasonde diagnosis at Skandix. Costet 176,-€ with shipping. Yesterday it was built. Today the same morning the test should be very good at 7:00.

My experiences with spark plugs from VOLVO!
Hello forum! I’ve had quite massive ignition problems lately with my 2nd car, a V40 model year 2004, 1.8, 90 kw -122 hp automatic circuit. I had due to strong noises of the hydro plugs let the engine clean with Mathy-C, the engine in the oil area. Then the used oil hot as it was drained, old oil filter off, new Olfilter bolted up. New engine oil from Castrol 10W40 A3/B2 cast 5,4 liters pure. Then the V40 50 to 100 km driven at different speeds. The noises from the hydro plugs are still no longer there. The cleaning was a success. But there for quite massive ignition problems. Sometimes the V40 only jumped on the third time. Here it was also very cold. I had the alternator suspected that it was the battery badly lad. Measured at the scald engine, good values. Battery 24 hours on charge again and then it jumped again. Then it was probably the battery, so I thought. There was a lot of snow, from the snow was not cleaned on the road.

Start Volvo V40 2003 by remote control
Hello Community I once had the ignition on my 125er scooter by radio remote control as 1. and then the engine can turn on. Everything itself built in. Was not a big thing when I had found the right wires. Now I was happy to install the same thing on my Volvo V40 T4 2003 Automaton. Only where are all these wires, how can I get to them? I only need the plus wire when the ignition key is in position 2, and then the plus wire, if I turn the key in position 3 to start. Can you help me further? I search pure the wires, where they are and how I get to it, without building the whole car apart… (And yes, I know that I have to place a immobilizer near the ignition lock Transponder, and that I do not have a problem, we don’t have to discuss this 😉 ) Grusss Stefan_Aerox

Something different about tires.
My thesis about summer and winter tires. An invention of the industry to make sales ? The only right point a winter tire has because of its profile more grip in snow but otherwise ? Claim: Summer tires in winter becomes hard because of the cold and the winter tires in summer softer because of the rubber mixture . The fact is that the winter tires slip just like the summer tires on ice and also on foliage because the tires do not slip on the foliage but the wet foliage on the road . Now to the rubber mixture, the tires rubs while driving and becomes very warm therefore the rubber is always warm not immediately at the start but after 1 to 2 km . A whole year tire has actually only both profiles . Due to the heat development the glue of the former round-renewed running surfaces which were also not glued . I drove in winter 2001 with summer tires to Switzerland and the car behaved like in summer, my colleague drives only with winter tires the whole year and the car keeps track even at high speeds in summer in the curve . All lug and deception ?

Good headlights for V40? Originals are tealights
Moin. My brother-in-law drives a V40, be it Bj.96, and has massive problems with the original headlights. We ham the Philips Nightguide and the X-treme Power built in and no difference: the light cone on the road are full. 10, maximum 15m. The light is very dark, yellowish, so you would drive with better standlights. Treasures the headlights have simply become blind, etc. Now what can you recommend for new headlights. Now he has the H4 in-room inside. On eBay I found headlights per piece for 65-70€. H4 in-room or also H7 double chamber clear glass. Which one really good and lots of light. Should you buy the original Hella from Volvo again? What do they cost?

Clear glass retrofitting survey
Hello, in recent times more requests for conversion to clear glass headlights are coming up for the Phase I models. So I think it’s time to discuss the topic of satisfaction and quality – but also about the price in detail. I think about points like: 1. where did you get the clear glass headlights? 2. which manufacturer is this? 3. how expensive were these? 4. were there problems with the installation? 5. were you satisfied with the light output? 6. how did you rate the headlights qualitatively? 7. what year did your elk have? 8. what connections did you have with the old Funzeln? 9. which H7 lamps you use? I think such facts are certainly very interesting and many questions can be clarified in advance. I am very excited and think that this will be an extremely interesting thread (can become)… BoisBleu

Ashtray too small!!! Conversion kit???
Hello guys, have been just under a week a Volvo V40 1,9D Bj.00 etc. Actually until now a super car, the only flaw is the small ashtray which is still in the wrong place. I ash every morning when dark is next to it. Isn’t there any conversion set for the center console? Under the radio there is enough space because of the free storage compartment. Where the ashtray usually belongs. And since I don’t want to miss out on my cigarettes I have to think of something. Hope someone can help me further. Thanks in advance, Berger666

V40 T4 ; 5 / 2004 or…
Hello Volvo municipality , especially V40 T4 Was today a used Audi A4 1.8T Avant drive (Multitronic)… After that cashier crash and hey, why should it not be a Volvo V40. There I get for less Euronen equal power (PS) and less Km on Tacho, and while searching in this forum I somehow have the impression that the Volvos seem more reliable , or deceives the impression 😉 Concretely: Is there here ex-A4 1.8T Avant drivers who are today with a V40 T4 more than happy ? This should not become an emotion battle, purely objective 🙂 Thank you ! aeroP
