Hello, first of all happy news. A few weeks ago I had asked here what my engine sounds could be. Unfortunately this did not lead to any result. Now my Volvo was examined by the Volvo workshop, and put on stage. It turns out that the “blowing”, or “summing” as the dealer called it, is a “starting shaft bearing damage”. So, the automatic transmission must be overhauled at some point. IT is a TF-80SC, 36050322 transmission. Nu n my question… of course the dealer did not want to give me a concrete answer. What can I also understand. But what do you mean. If it is a BEGINNING bearing damage, the howling, buzzing is not yet very loud… How is that then. Can the car stop at some point and the gearbox falls apart? And how long is it from the BEGINNING to the TOTAL bearing damage. Can I still drive a few more KM or even many more? I will have the gearbox overtaken, costs about 2800 €, but I would like to be able to find out how urgent this is here. I would be very happy about your opinions…. Until then, thank you very much,

Volvo XC60 (2011) New front fender
Hello together, with my XC60 (2011) both fenders are through and therefore have to be renewed. Original costs after all a wing 450€. Do I have to use original goods at this age or can I also take one of Skandix there costs only 180€. I mean to have read that with third-party manufacturers the gap dimensions do not fit at all. Does anyone have any experience with Skandix fenders or another brand? For example, with the Autospengler I would be about 1,200€ (B Eide Wings of Skandix + Work) does that come about?https://www.skandix.de/…/ Thank you.

V70 III: Opening/closing the tailgate cracks in warm weather
Hello! With my V70 III I noticed that the (electric) tailgate makes strange cracking/snarling noises during opening and closing in warm weather … maybe similar to a not well oiled hinge. This usually occurs when the sun has heated up the black car and thus also the mechanics of the tailgate well. In cold and covered sky it cracks very little. Do you have an idea where this could come from? I tap on the gas pressure springs … and less on the engine for the tailgate. Or what do you mean? Greetings KarlJohann

Which coolant/freeze protection for the V60 D3 100KW (D5204T7)
Hello, I wanted to change the cooling fluid, since it is already as old as the car, so 10 years… Can’t find anywhere which coolant/freeze protection I need. Manual says nothing, only the quantity, online I found nothing concrete, I’m shown everything possible for my car, i.e. G11, G12, G13.. What makes all this even more difficult, I have a yellow in it right now, which is very rare. Can someone please help me?

Whispering sound before engine start and running engine
Hello together, now I have to ask for advice: For some time now I have been hearing a constant “whispering/whispering” with my moose, as soon as I initiate the ignition process (passed clutch pedal) (starter has not yet started turning) and then also during the normal engine run. Turbocharger I exclude 100%, because I still remember the sound of a defective turbo from BMW times very well. My guess from previous research in the net indicates a defective turbo. Low pressure or vacuum pump. I have not found any leaks on hoses on the moose so far, there is nowhere to be found out. What I noticed was that I also have a rather “hard” brake pedal before every start process – normally this would have to be reasonably easy to operate after a maximum of 8 hours of engine outtime, wouldn’t it?

Interior: Which leather color is used?
Greetings, can someone please tell me where I find the used colour designation of the leather covers? Is it also on the type plate? Maybe a look in the interior is enough for one or the other and someone can tell me the color. I have attached two pictures. I would like to order a care set from the leather center. ->Colour selection Leather covers Volvo When I look at the pictures there, in my opinion the color Charcoal is closest to my covers. My XC6 0 is from 2015. Thank you very much Pedro

HA brake renewal: special knowledge or tools required?
Moin! So far I have had maintenance/repairs done by the friendly, whose workshop is however a three-quarter hour away. Rather because of time and a bit also for cost reasons I consider to have the upcoming renewal of the rear axle brakes (dishes + stones) made here in the place in a free workshop. With those I used to be always with my old Fiestas and was actually always well satisfied. However, the mainly experience with VAG, PSA and Ford vehicles and hardly any experience with Volvo. Now my question: Is there any special feature with Volvo (V70 Built ’14, one of the last five cylinders) regarding brake piston provision or provision of the electric parking brake, which a good but just Volvo inexperienced screwdriver must know and observe?! Thank you in advance! /MUG_

Switch auxiliary belt ???
Hello reader, my next maintenance is for my XC 60. Offer is caught up and sounds good, except for two lines that I didn’t understand and two Volvo dealers make different statements.Shortly to our car. Volvo XC 60 D5 Year of construction 2012 It is due the 4 inspection and the car has 67000km down. Driving performance about 15000km/year since will own the car. Volvo dealer 1 : Who performs the inspection, has indicated that the above-mentioned belts are changed should. According to Volvo every 3 years or after 90,000km and would like to do this now (in the 4th inspection/in 4 years) Volvo dealer 2 (where I bought the car) : Statement… According to the workshop manager, belts have to be changed after 90,000km, but can happen earlier on customer request. There is no instruction to replace the belt every 3 years. If I drive about 15000km a year, it is enough to renew the belt again the next year. Can you help me further? Makes sense to change the straps now already ? Cost point would be about 120,00€. Is not the world, but you don’t have to throw out the money. Greetings and thanks !

XC60 D5 Charging without cause?
Hello. Maybe someone has a piece of advice… Under load is a clear air-smelling, whose cause I just can’t find… Before long Zeir I exchanged already 2 different charge air hoses, each by light but clear oil release. This time absolutely nothing is recognizable. I degreased the complete charge air area and sprayed it with white special spray. Despite long mountain ride with long loader use was optically not the small to recognize…no trace of black engine oil… Is it possible that excess charging pressure is simply released consciously into the environment? Where could the noise arise? The engine is powerless inconspicuous… Thank you for tips. Erich

Electric parking brake generates error message since battery disconnected
Hello to each other, last year I completely renewed my brakes at the rear, because the brake piston was hanging on one side. I installed completely new brake calipers, so all parts of the electric parking brake were also renewed. Now I wanted to pull the fuse of the parking heater last week to learn the remote control. Unfortunately it was not possible to access the fuses with tools, because the fuse box is nested and I can not get the upper fuses out. The manual also only reveals where the fuses are sitting but not how to get there. At such moments I really wish my V70 II (the last car developed by Volvo) back, because half of the components that come from Ford were of poor quality. Anyway, I just stuck off the battery and was able to easily learn the heater remote control. I only stuck off the battery for about 5 seconds, so that both the time and time of the car can be used. Since then I have had the problem that the electric parking brake should be maintained again and again. Sometimes the symbol of the parking brake flashes and goes away only after a new engine start. I have to say that I use the brake only very rarely, because I drive the automatic and “P” completely sufficient. The mentioned messages are therefore not related to the use of the parking brake. . The brake itself works perfectly, I tested it many times and also started different programs with VIDA, all without any problems. Once again, the battery has not improved. When reading out, I only got the error message that the electric motors were left and right not contactable. That it really is due to the motors is unlikely, since both are affected. I would guess that the ECU somehow It was only since then that the fault occurred and it was also very sporadic and usually disappeared again after a few seconds. Maybe someone had the problem before or has a tip what I can still do? Terminal again with the battery and run the programs in Vida as well as press the parking brake I did everything I could think of in terms of possibilities.
