soo…the transfer is getting closer and closer, then I start the thread to the car in the last few days arrived the first “accessories” parts, different charging adapters (CEE red on Schuko, CEE blue on Schuko (missing in the picture) and Type 2 on Schuko). Thus, power should be available virtually everywhere for the V60. Which registrations with the different charging providers (e.g. Chargefoxx) makes sense will be shown over time. If everything goes well, the transfer takes place on Saturday.

  • Installing used ECUs. Learning to use ICM CEM DIM

Hello dear forum! I have a specific problem and a general question about it. In short, in my XC70 II from 2008 with D5 engine according to current (admittedly vague) diagnosis, three ECUs were broken at once. Namely, the instrument cluster (DIM), the infotainment (ICM) and the central ECU (CEM). Can be even more but this can only be tested after these three have been exchanged. Computing should be seen with workshop costs of 3000-500€ symptoms as follows a us: During the ride the infotainment goes out and the instrument cluster reports errors like parking aid defective, brakes defective, airbags defective, ABS defective and more. Short time also total failures of the AI. Meanwhile everything works again completely normal and without messages. Reading the error codes results in 3 DinA4 pages with over 70 (mostly) communication errors. Guessless as I am, I would now like to exchange the ECUs for used ones and let them learn from Volvo n. Here are my questions: Is this possible and if so with which ECUs? and is there someone with similar history and a possible other diagnosis? Thank you for your help and opinions! If you need more infos just ask…

  • Geartronic makes kittens

V60 D3 GT EZ 05/11 vehicle has now run 40,000 km so far without problems and to complete satisfaction. Recently, a little unmotivated switching of the GT and an “extreme grinding” of the individual gears with high speeds with stronger gas giving, means that when giving gas first the speed goes up without something important happens. Then comes thrust, the speed stays high and then goes back slowly and the vehicle switches down again. The vehicle drives This is quite unharmonious and the whole thing wasn’t at the delivery of new cars. Reinforced this occurs after the first inspection in May. There was probably a new software for the transmission control. An audition at the delivered: “There we can do nothing”. As I said, the whole thing was not before and I consider it a lack. If this is not otherwise possible, they should change the whole transmission unit or play the old software on it again. I don’t care, but I don’t care. so we have no fun at all on the car. Gives experience values on the topic Geartronic, tough response behavior, faults, warranty cases, etc. Thanks for Tips

  • Help – where are the front headlight fuses ?

Hello, unfortunately I am still very inexperienced with car screwing – I want to change a xenon lamp for the front headlight to the right of the Volvo, S60. The replacement lamp did not work. As a result I have the still working lamp of the left side installed in the version of the right front headlight – LAMPE BLIEB DUNKEL ! Aha, I think, then it lies on the control unit or the fuse. But I do not have the descriptions for the fuses – I find no explicit indication: fuse X is for the right headlight etc. Does someone have a tip ? I have already sipped all the fuses in the engine compartment for testing. Danke for every hint ! Christoph G.

  • Noting of the tailgate

Hi, since our V60 tailgate could not be unlocked anymore, I searched in the forum and otherwise in the net and found nothing, except a hint somewhere that there must be a note lock. That’s why I went to the search and showed here how the note lock of the tailgate can be operated on the V60. 1. Picture 1 Punching through the plastic cover of the lock with the emergency key or similar iron, e.g. small screwdriver. There is a perforation that exactly anze The emergency key fitted exactly and went through the plastic like butter. 2. picture 2+3 A pointed object slightly bent from left to right and inserted into the now existing opening (left to right is meant if you are lying in the back of the trunk with a view). Maybe 4-5 cm max. Then the tip n easily tilt object from left to right and the lock unlocks immediately. Best regards to the Volvo dealership H. from FZ, especially to Mr. W., who told me on the phone, very elaborate thing, and the interior cladding has to go off and gets broken sometimes. If you have to make such sales and all the people think stupid, then I doubt the decision for a Volvo now, although I am a convinced Volvo driver for many years. Not to be seen. Guys guys guys. Greetings Peter [Transmitted by motor talk from the theme ‘V60 year 2010 ff. Notentriegelung tailgate’.]

  • Heaters – how do you handle it?

Hello to the round, I have read a good 50 articles here, and am now a little confused. I have admittedly never been busy with the topic, since the Tiguan Diesel automatically switches on the heater, even for short distance. I guessed so also with the Volvo. Yes, I know: after 8 years you should be informed accordingly. Ash about my head. I drive the XC but also only sporadically. Now however to the reason of my confusion. I have here among other things the following n Post found:In addition to its function as a comfortable room heating system, the heater has a second task: If the outside temperature has fallen below a certain value at the start – as for example now in winter – the operating diesel is preheated for better gasification. Does this mean that I don’t have to turn on the additional heater at all, because the heater is automatically switched on? Or has the author confused SHZ and heater here? Or is it possible here to do so. Questions about questions. I have switched the heater to “one” since today, despite the short distance. However, the car hangs on the CTek when it is not used, so I don’t think much about the battery (the biggest model of minor that fits into the box).

  • Steering wheel emblem S80II

Hello! Does someone happen to know an online source for the steering wheel emblem (the silver lettering “Volvo” with blue background)?! Skandix has that and I have now, after an appropriate order, also, stupidly changed the format of Volvo 2010 and my car is from before the change. So it doesn’t fit. For safety, I bought two not matching emblems… I need the part in 35x8mm and I have found only two sources online so far… One in the U.S.A., the item costs only $ 2.70, but shipping $ 45.00. I can then make a detour to the friendly one. And another source offers imitation parts, also at a too high price, but especially in a bad look in my eyes, I prefer to drive through the area with half-blanked blue. With the friendly one I do not come by “accidentally” and therefore I do not want to go there especially now, if it is not absolutely necessary (Insp section, wheel exchange, etc. are of course just finished).

  • Engine controller S60 2

Moin together, last week Thursday I was at a longer traffic light phase and I turned off the engine as usual with S/S function. After the start then the engine control started. I am then on Monday to an outdoor to let the error read out. (My next Volvo workshop is almost 80 km away.) There an unknown error P1407 was read out, and then nobody knew what to start with. The error was deleted, but is now back since yesterday evening. Google says, P1407 is an EGR-Temp sensor. The car drives normally as usual, no abnormalities. Does anyone know if you can change the sensor yourself, or where the sensor is sitting at the S60 II, 120 KW Bj. 11 Would otherwise read out an appointment when making a friendly “right” one. By the way, since the start/stop no longer works, is shown “electrical system”. Can this be related to this? Does anyone know where the additional battery is installed on the model? Thanks already, Crashman66

  • Tyres on one side

Hello, with my XC70, the tires were driven on one side, even though I was only measuring last year at the track. I returned to the Bosch service and made a complaint. I should take the car there again today and they wanted to check it again. The company just called me back. The track is not adjusted, but the fall does not fit. They therefore directly telephoned Volvo and received the following information: Fall cannot be set in this vehicle. Does it have to renew the shock absorbers and the springs in front, but only possibly. Is this possible??? Did someone have the problem before? Thank you, Christoph

  • Buy XC60 Gen. 1 or Gen. 2

Hi together, I want to get an XC60… now I have 2, I think, good offers: Model: XC60 D4 Momentum AWD Geartronic Price: € 23.990 First registration: 08.2017 Kilometer level: 182,000 km Power: 190 HP Model: XC60 D4 AWD Kinetic Geartronic Price: € 20.990 First registration: 04.2015 Kilometer level: 150,000 km Power: 181 hp The most important thing for me is maximum durability… I like the 2017er outside better and is also the “new”… but has already 180.000 km… On the other hand, it costs “only” 3,000 euros more… But in the 2015er you know what you buy. With good care 500,000 kilometers usually no thing… What do you think? I’m really hard to decide between the two… Ciao, Rains
