  • Bloody encounter with the steering wheel in the V70

Since yesterday my V70 has the nickname of the “Schlitzer”. For some time I had always had small cuts on my fingers, but didn’t know their cause until yesterday. Yesterday I tried to get into a small parking space for a relatively long time and then of course strongly cranked on the steering wheel. After parking I notice a lot of smeared blood on the steering wheel and on my left hand and also a little dripped down blood. The cause of the injury is dry. I tried to photograph this and attach it to the article. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come out very well on the mobile phone pictures, but at the edge it looks like a thick aluminium foil has dissolved and a very sharp edge has been created there. Did someone already have the same problem or idea how to “defuse” this dangerous spot? I would also be happy about tips for removing blood stains.

  • Regeneration DPF

Hello! Quick question: Do you get it (e.g. through display/light in the instrument cluster) if the DPF is to be regenerated, in order to drive a slightly longer distance (20/30km) if necessary, or does the car fall into the emergency run relatively suddenly/surprisingly – if the DPF is closed – and then you have to go in the emergency run into the contract workshop for regeneration there? Thank you.

  • Bye Volvo

After years of driving my Xc60 I have now made the jump. After 60tsd km engine change after 65 tsd km gear change both fortunately with warranty. Now with 175 started again the gearbox to hook. Like the first time. Real if you can’t build it or not buy it. I have now decided for the second because Volvo has become exorbitant to me now, and I especially got to know the quality. Bye Volvo Group hello bay In the case of motor vehicles, this is the case in the case of motor vehicles.

  • Upgrade Android Radio – Yes or No?

Dear community! There’s already one or the other thread on the topic, but there was nothing really informative about it for me … it was more about the box, which 1zu1 is transferred to the existing display. I would prefer something like this:https://de.aliexpress.com/…/1005003058801308.html?…https://www.youtube.com/watch?… I’ve already written a lot with the seller but certain things are not yet 100% clear to me! The Volvo voice control and the USB port no longer work – as is the original Navi etc. The seat heating is still open and whether or not I can access the old system. The information was that the old box remains and I had to store it somewhere and then I can access it via AUX – only how should the keys work in the Volvo menu if there is only one image transfer?! The thing cost, temperature adjustment also, as well as the parking sensors. et 350 Euro – speak for me too much to go at risk there … I personally am simply dissatisfied with the original Navi, because he has almost never the desired house number in the system, i.e. on the last meter I have to reach for the mobile phone. Besides, the music files could be more clearly arranged! What do you think? Would it be bad if I had no access to the old system anymore? Actually I don’t put anything there anyway, except the time … Is there otherwise something else I should think about? What do you think, what would the installation cost approx.? I also have to install a rear view camera with the superior … Thank you for your help! thank you lg

  • Cooling problem / engine damage XC70 2.4 D4 Year of construction 2014 with 214 tkm

Hello together, after a long search for causes regarding cooling problem (engine regularly showed overheating during normal driving, high pressure in the cooling system, cooling water consumption) through my experienced house workshop with exchange of thermostat, water pump, cooler sensor, sensor compensation tank, no CO in the cooling system) without any change in the symptoms, I brought my XC70 today to the local Volvo dealer in Freiburg. This called me two hours later and opened up to me, that in the engine block the partitions between the cylinder and cooling channels around the cylinders are defective / permeable, what is irreparable and requires a new engine, the costs were estimated at five digits. The engine shows full power, does not consume oil, has been regularly maintained and is now to be replaced? How can that be? This indicates a serial design error? Is there no culpability? No possibility Volvo therefore to an M I paid for the car in 2021 at a large car dealer with 140 Tkm 17.5 TE and should now pay for a new engine? I am stunned…sour! What can I do? A used replacement engine could have the same problem? What is this XC70 worth with this damage? Who knows a advice? Who had similar problems? What is to be done?

  • V60 Axle cuff back right sifft

Moin, Since we want to leave for Norway next week for a 5000 KM road trip, I put myself under the car today to inspect everything. I noticed the inner axle cuff at the rear right (all-wheel). On the fuel filter housing was a greasy thick liquid, as well as on the inner (so differential side) axle cuff. I was not sure if this is just dirt, but I assume quite strongly that the fat from the M After I cleaned everything up and drove 20 km I looked again, but everything remained clean. I can’t find a crack anywhere. Workshop appointment I probably can’t get any more by Thursday, certainly not with spare parts. But I still call the friendly one in the morning. I just see the holiday fall into the water. Does anyone have experience with it? And would you still drive with it? Can hardly imagine that this is 5,000 Car: 2017 V60 CC D4 AWD (5 cylinders)

  • New V70/3 D5 185hp in the round, two questions 🙂

Hallööchen municipality, after my daily was scrapped, I could now secure a V70/3 as D5 with TF80-SC. The car ran 291tsd, now of course the pick up in 14 days. However, I have directly to the car 2 questions: 1. The steering 2. Which engine oil use To 1. The car now stood according to the seller (private) some time at the yard (but was always moved before and also long distance) where his acquaintances parked him between I noticed that when I got into the car yesterday for a test drive, when I parked, the steering around the middle position hardly provides servo support. With 100 rpm more speed the car left without problems steering and the support was there. Also during the rest of the test drive (45 minutes approx.) the servo was available. Only when shunting without more speed it was heavy again. Unfortunately I did not have any problems with the problem. m Nett still get information from the local Volvo dealer, there it was called flat rate: servo pump, wires, servo containers, steering gear etc. New, should come just 3 shines incl. installation. Does one know the problem here ? Did I buy scrap now ? Or does it bring something to start a change of hydraulic fluid here immediately ? 2. The car needs a service, this I would like to do myself since we continue a few places a self-helpwer kstatt, there I want to change the engine oil. According to Volvo or operating instructions A5/B5 is required, however, I have some schiss worth because of the lowered HTHS, which means the wear is considerably higher than with an oil which does not correspond to A5/B5. Here I would like to switch to a decent 5W30 or 0W40, because on the highway the cow is also allowed to fly and speeds of 220+ are reached. Thank you, for your information. Greetings to CZEA1989

  • Volvo XC60 / Diesel engines

Hello together…We bought a used XC60 / MJ 2010. Has the 2.4l diesel become. Where does this engine come from? Did Volvo build it itself / develop it or does it come from another manufacturer? Best regards

  • Chassis spring VA no longer available. Alternative? (V70 III 3.0 T6 AWD Geartr. R-Design Chassis)

Hello! I have a Volvo V70 III 3.0 T6 Geartronic AWD Bauj. 2010 in the R-design version with a sports suspension and level control installed by the factory (so everything original, nothing subsequently installed). The car (at first approved in Switzerland) has officially also installed the Heico tuning, but not the Heico sports suspension. It is a bit deeper and harder, but still relatively comfortable to drive (for me sounds like a combination of harder suspension springs and standard dampers. ) Now one of the suspension springs is broken at the VA and of course two should be renewed in a Volvo workshop for good money. Date was fixed for weeks and then Volvo-Sweden suddenly and unannounced in the delivery no suspension springs included. At the moment no suspension springs should be available, it was then in the Volvo workshop and it is questionable when and whether they will be available at all, because they were installed too rarely, namely on a Car model like my one with the heavy 3L-6 cylinder engine and Automatic and AWD. Sure, 2010 is already countless generations back, here still to expect spare parts, is already naughty by a Volvo customer. In the Volvo workshop they also gave me no part number, but wanted to become active themselves, which search and report to me. When then nothing else happened, I waited and waited, and they gave me between the lines clearly to understand that I did not want to f Avorized customers belong, so you don’t have to hurry, I am to an alternative car workshop and have now had the suspension springs and dampers renewed at the VA. Operation succeeded, but patient is now not to be recognized. The car looks now almost like high-bumped or like an XC70, while it is significantly lower at the rear. After my complaint one regrets this, but for safety I should now be original. Volvo springs for the car besor The car mechanic said that he saw before the installation that the new suspension springs were properly longer (5cm?) than the original ones, because the other coils had, he thought, they were still sitting down … Hmm …. And now I am standing where I was already standing before, namely in the rain. In the alternative workshop, I was given a Volvo part number 31255519 and said that I would be able to replace them for free and I would also get the money back for the wrong springs. would be the right one and I should get it. But here I have my doubts, was the R-design sports suspension considered this time?. I have now taken the remaining intact other suspension spring out of the workshop, photographed it and measured it, because unfortunately there is nothing written on it. 38,5 cm total length, 14.7 cm outer diameter, spring thickness 13.5 mm, 5 turns plus a 1/2 turn at the beginning and at the end. On the last big turn 3 large marking points are too Is this the suspension spring: 31255519 or rather not? And if not, what is the name of this spring so that I can try to order it somewhere. As I said, Volvo should not deliver any more, but maybe someone still has such suspension springs or knows which springs could fit in the car accessories? Somehow I tend to Eibach 30mm sports suspension springs, wants to but be sure to buy the right ones now … or are there any such suspension springs needed somewhere? It should be right for you … And: who is the manufacturer of the original Volvo suspension springs? They don’t do them themselves? Robin
