Hello Zäme I would like to say goodbye to you because I no longer drive a Volvo and have sold my Volvo XC60 D5 AWD. The reasons for this are among other things the new model policy and engine policy of Volvo and the lack of possibility because of the age of our children (7, 4 and 1 month) to have 3 child seats in the Volvo XC60 (too cumbersome, too uncomfortable). The integrated child seats helped nothing. The new XC90 was simply too expensive and not available within a useful period of time, and even that does not even have 3 single seats(including ISO Fix in the middle) in the 2 series. So we have now bought a VW Sharan 2.0 TSI. I will not miss a minute (I never really warmed up with the combination D5 and the 6 gear transducer automatic MJ2010), moreover we just drive a lot of short distances, the AWD unfortunately already. Good time and accident-free journey Tom

Rust / rusting on roof edge V70 – individual fate or general problem?
A few months ago, I was disturbed by stubborn “Fliegendreck” at the roof edge above the windscreen of my V70 (III). But even after prolonged soaking and polishing, the spot did not go away. If you look at it more closely, it is probably a matter of rusting. Lackabplachers are not visible at the roof edge, when the area is enlarged strongly, the place shows rust bubbles bursting up. Meanwhile, the first spot has become significantly larger and five more have joined. From week to week, it seems to be more to feel better at first than to see. According to Volvo, these are impacts of foreign bodies, so that there is no reason for any remedy from there. Stone strokes, according to my experience, lead to paint chippings, which then rust from the blank sheet – unless you do anything. But that without visible impact, just blooms from below??? Does anyone know the problem (my V70 had first registration 03/2010 in Sweden; varnish is Caspian blue metallic) or does anyone have an explanation for this unpleasantly rust-like Volvo?

Leather of driver’s seat begins to tear
Hello, I drive one of the last V60 1 linje swart. The car is now almost three years old and has run 46,000 km. In the care of the leather seats I have noticed that the left seat of the driver seat has a approx. 15 cm long “riss” in the surface of the leather. Certainly the left seat is stressed by the entry and exiting, but can the leather here already be broken? What can I do to prevent the damage, and is this possibly something that Volvo shows itself to be kulant? Does anyone else have such problems? I have read nothing of it. The picture shows the seat of the seat surface. The leather is “broken” here on the surface, i.e. it is not a fold, but a damage of the surface. Many greetings! kulpin

Heating- how does it work? App etc!
Hello, I have the XC 60 D4 Summum, R-Design with preheater. EZ 12/2014. I use the Volvo app. See picture in the appendix! Question: If I start the preheater directly and without a timer in the app, it always went out again after 5 minutes…. The interior remained cold. Outside temperature around -2 to 0 degrees. Do I do something wrong? There is then in the app: preheater starts, start requested, preheater switched on. At the car also quietly something is buzzing…But just after 5 minutes the fun is over. Tank and battery are full. Question about the timer: There I set my departure time and not the time when the preheater should start, right? The interior should then be warm even after 20 minutes, or? Previously in the app stood about 25 minutes that the preheater would be switched on. I get out to the car. No noises, car cold. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to program something in the car? The runtime or the temperature?

Separation grid or grid in V70?
Dear Forum I would like to protect the passenger compartment from bullets, especially since the trunk is probably used for a longer journey, despite the roof box, over backrest. No animal transport, only luggage. For the V70 there are the extendable cutting nets or a foldable grid. Who has experience with the solutions? About the SuFu I did not get the desired information. My assessments, without having seen the two real: The net seems to be needed something cheaper and the cassettes fit into the compartment on the lower floor when not used. Visually, I like it better, but it takes away precious depth of the trunk. Is it parallel with the roller blind usable, or does it have to be out first? I would probably have to buy the grid anew and in my opinion provide for something “Viehwagenambiente”, but looks robust. Folds the part back there annoying? Must the roller out? What do you use? What do you recommend to me? Or does someone in the forum have a grid, which dusts only in the basement and I could take over? Thank you for your experiences Simon

XC60 D5 – “Motor maintenance required”
Hello municipality, now it has also caught me, yesterday suddenly the yellow warning “motor maintenance required”. To the background, my five-cylinder from Mj. 17 (the old) has completed in the last years each 12-15 Tkm in the year, short but also long distance, largely trouble-free. So far no performance losses noticeable, no emergency run report. Last service 7 months ago, of course at the FVH. I asked for the oil level, which showed itself just in the red bordered field right, i.e. it could have “mistaked” “some” diesel in the engine oil. What else could come into question?? My friend can only read out the error memory on Tuesday, but complained immediately with overload and booked out for at least 2-3 weeks. In one week however, I want to reach my holiday domicile in Croatia. Who has similar experiences and can give tips ??

How long does your first car battery last/hold before replacement/change?
Hello forum community, my V70 will soon be 4 years old. I had a small ignition problem recently where it was -1°C in the morning – after pressing the start button it took much longer until the engine started. But it was only one time, otherwise the car starts without any problems. Now you often read that the car batteries end their life cycle after 4 to 5 years and you should think of a change before you get problems in the winter. My KfZ master of trust thinks this is nonsense. If you don’t get serious problems, a high quality as it is built in, so 7 years. How are your experiences, when was the car battery changed with you before it has given up the mind? I only ask here for car batteries that are not in use for start/stop, because my V70 does not have this fiction. Motor is D3, MY 2011 Greeting foodtek

XC60 dealer discounts and equipment
Hello Together, I’m on a good way to be here soon more often, as my next car is to become an XC60 (10 years with 2 Tourans are enough for me)…. My wish configuration is now quite certain: XC60 Ocean Race, D3 manual gearbox Onyx-black Business package cargo space package parking aid front glass sliding roof seat heating rear rear camera loading edge protection electric folding exterior mirror steering wheel heater Now to my questions: – Have I still forgotten something important (doesn’t have an automatic fan, engine is enough, is still unsafe because of light package)? – Who has an overview of the current dealer’s aftermarket? I have so far several offers that move quite homogenously between 14-15%. The variant with registration as a demonstration car and take over two-three months later comes to around 20%. Intermediators like C….. Would I like to take advantage of it, since the dealer should at least be halfway close to it. EU carriers unfortunately also don’t like to be right, at least if I look at the frequently found dealers. – I have a real experience of using a vehicle like 5.

Generator-free run XC60, time, costs, or yet in self-direction ?
Hello Volvogemeinde, My XC60 2012 215ps diesel has a defective freewheel generator. In two weeks I have large inspection however… The local has put down the belt, since his opinion can every moment the freewheel completely goodbye and there could also become dangerous for engine (???) I is a riddle what could damage there the engine, maybe wanted to impress me. Now I got from the man a suggestion, about 650€ for a freewheel, spanner, climate belt. Everything at 3,6h a little long and expensive I find. My elk has around 150000km. What is necessary to change and what are the fair costs ? Is this hard to get the light machine down ? Can you get those up or rather from below ? Am former car electrician, maybe I should dare, but if too much fummelei at bad access. This car drives my wife and of it depends on her mood, therefore guys … … please, helps the poor Greeks ??

V70 2.0D – Electronics Failure while driving for fraction of a second (CEM?) / VIDEO
Hello together, a friend recently added a used V70 2.0D from 2009 with approx. 213.000km. The car has an interesting problem: In case of running engine (in stand or while driving) suddenly all lamps light up in the speedometer, the central locking is controlled and the lamps of the buttons in the center console go on for a fraction of a second. The speed drops and the “DSTC on” message arrives, similar to after the engine start. It seems as if the onboard electronics for a fraction of a second lose voltage. I have the impression this is related to the current decrease… (e.g. when the windscreen wiper runs). See attached video. Reading out the car brings three errors: POT (Heck valve module) – U300316 battery voltage. General electrical errors. Current circuit voltage under threshold DDM (driver door module) – B110A11 driver’s side rear door central locking motor. General electrical errors. Short circuit to mass CEM (central electronic module) – B10EA14 positive temperature response.
