  • Needed Help

Hello, my name is Michi. I come from the S-Class group and drive a S450. Now I’m looking for a “new” vehicle for my wife and could narrow down the search a little bit. Basically it’s about reliability! But should also have comfort and performance. As far as the Volvo S80 is concerned, we vary between 2 models: 1. S80 4.4 AWD Executive from 09/2006 with 115,000 km, very nice equipment and should no longer be affected by the initial problems of this engine. 2. S80 T6 AWD Executive from 01/08 with 139,000 km, full option, so really EVERYTHING about extras. I would like to hear your opinion about the 4.4, I ask you for very specific information about the T6. 1. I have read about the T6 of transmission problems. These seem to “only” concern the 4 gear automatic. The one found by us Geartronic. Is this also affected? 2. How is it ordered about the durability of the engine? Especially with regard to the [or DEN?] Turbo. Thank you for Your support… Greetings Michi

  • Used purchase with 115T Km, XC70 Built. 2014 D4

Hello together, 2 years ago have bought an XC70 D4 AWD Automatik Bj. 2015 with 115T Km from first owner (is driven per year almost 60T Km). Everything was fine, only sometimes the gearbox blows out when changing from D to R or R to D – sometimes but also very delicate – no matter whether I change slowly or quickly. Can’t recognize a dependency on long service life or recently driven for a long time, according to friendly (but I don’t trust) is also the latest software on it. N and my suspicion is that the predecessor took it quite a bit (but I didn’t hear anything else that makes me suspect it) or often pulled it under a lot of weight (I attached two pictures of the AHK – can you deduce that from it?). Anyway: can you do something there? Does the coupling mean to exchange something big? Thank you in advance!

  • Does the XC60 D4 VEA engine have a diesel particulate filter problem ? NO!

Moin Moin, we still have to buy a new car. The XC 60 is a short choice. It has to be a diesel for various reasons. Driving profile: 2 x daily 18 km at the piece of highway 2 x weekly 50 km at the piece of daily rides in a small town up to 3 km occasionally motorway rides > 50 km annual runtime approx.18000 km With the previous vehicle there have been problems with the diesel particle filter, since this does not completely pass through the cleaning processes The filter had to be burned within 130000 km 2 x manually. But this can also have had to do with the vehicle itself, because various sensors were already defective. Is the XC60 with the VEA engine basically what the particle filter is about, without problems or has to be paid attention to the driving profile? Would be nice if positive, as well as negative experiences with details were reported here. The manufacturers / sellers always say: No problem… …..

  • Understated engine? D5 2.4 215hp

Hi, do you have opinions about whether you can undercharge an engine, in which you can e.g. the 215hp D5 max 130kmh ride and also otherwise only for commuting trips up to 20km oneway? Abdominal feeling would be with: no, is it good to have reserve?! Weird question I know, but found nothing about it. Best regards

  • V60 D3 2014 – Volvo On Call & Start/Stop without function

Hello, please, I need your help… Since mid-April, my Volvo V60 D3 2014 Volvo on Call has been running without function, as well as start/stop no longer works. In the VoC app it says that the vehicle is in rest mode. The suggested manual start does not bring any improvement. Last entry in the travel book is from Easter Sunday. After that the car was not moved for about 8 days. Since the problems… :-/ I was last week at the dealer, there were all the current Upd but it didn’t work for the VoC control unit – it stopped 3 times, also a disconnection of the battery and subsequent replay attempt failed. Start/stop worked again shortly afterwards, but now also no longer. I have now arranged a new date next week, where they try again. However, there was already an invoice for the last date… I should pay the three wrong attempts all, altogether 182 Euro only for this S oftenware crap! I have to say that the software of my Sensus Connect Navi seems to be out of date… I don’t have the point with the Internet connection via WiFi hotspot over the iPhone described at Volvo for Update 2015. How are your experiences with the software updates at Volvo? What can this be about with the VoC and the Start/Stop? Greetings!

  • Volvo Workshops overloaded – Note for buyers of a used Volvo

Hi, in great disappointment about Volvo I had to get back to this topic. The reason for my disappointment is an unacceptable long waiting time for a workshop meeting despite a total failure due to an electronics problem. I am also interested in whether it was similar to other Volvo drivers. In the radius of about 50 km from Stade, between Cuxhaven and Hamburg, when selecting 5 Volvo workshops a waiting time of 1 1⁄2 weeks is the best possible result, what could be achieved by switching on the central Volvo customer service. Before it went direction 2 1⁄2 weeks. Because of the previous failure of a Xenon-scattered workshop, which could not be solved by exchanging the Xenon-burner and Xenon-control unit, it should even be a date in 4 weeks. Since it was then considerably time consuming to find a free workshop at all (>10 asked for help), however, the advice given to a Volvo with an electronic problem already gives me as a layman to understand that the diagnosis of Volvos probably represents a special challenge. In view of this workshop there was no need for help.

  • Sensus Navigation (2013) Update

Have now made the update (as of April 2018) from Navi via Stick. So far so good, but I can’t notice any innovations. In my surroundings, innovations have been made in the road guidance for the last 1 1/2 – years, such as gyro. But these things are not taken into account in the update. Does someone know how busy Volvo renews his cards? Am there a bit disappointed, can’t be. that you have such a long delay in updating the cards.

  • Is high beam assistant worth it in the V70 / XC70?

I’m looking for a V70 or XC 70, preferably with a high-light assistant. However, only a few of them have on the market, so that the selection is enormously limited. Now I ask myself, is it worth it? What I read here in the forum at the V40 is not encouraging. https://www.motor-talk.de/forum/fernlichtassist-t6759944.html I prefer to refrain from using an assistant who makes more stress than relieves stress. Therefore, my question: How reliable and comfortable does the high-light assistant work for those who have one in their V70 or XC70, economically (motorways, roads, inner-city)? Gladly with the indication of the year of construction.

  • Vibration/slagering during braking

I’ve had a good time to get back to the bike, I’ve had a good time to get back to the bike, I’ve had a good time to get back to the bike. I’ve been driving a Volvo V70 III D5 AWD 215PS and I’ve got the problem that the car always starts to vibrate again in the bike. In that year I’ve been driving about 50,000 km and now he has 330.000 km on the clock. Bremdisks and pads I’ve already made 5x new. (Brembo, Volvo Original, ATE) After the change I mostly have 2-4tkm quiet and then it comes back again. (Slimming process, speed independent, at some point so bad that I can hardly drive anymore, because the steering wheel almost flutters me at the brake. Tires have also come back 4 months ago and been re-wokeed. As I was in doubt and no longer knew, I gave the Volvo to the brake at the front, the bike change again and again.
