  • Key rim lock missing in new cars

    Hello all, I wanted to mount the winter tyres yesterday on my XC60 MJ17, but I had to find out that the car was missing the key for the wheel locks. And yes, I rolled the vehicle from left to right. The call to the local Volvo dealer, I spoke here with the friend workshop master, brought disillusionment. Volvo can’t open the locks because the key is missing. The only way would be to drill the locks, but at the same time it could the rims are damaged. Apart from the financial costs. About the FIN it would not be possible to determine which locks are mounted. What now ? Martin

  • Close electric tailgate by remote control

    Hello guys, no, don’t worry – I’m not going to ask if you can close the electric tailgate by remote control — I’ve read the manual and I know that it’s not possible I’m just wondering if no one has retrofitted that yet…? I mean, on the one hand, it would be very convenient if, for example, you took a shopping bag out of the trunk with each hand and then just press a button of a remote control (which you can still clamp between your fingers) or from the entrance of the house (if you have to turn off the pockets anyway to open the door) – press the button, shut the door, press the other button, car closed. And on the other hand it would be absolutely no problem to retrofit it yourself. As I understood that, the key in the door is only a simple lock key. So there is a wire that is interrupted by the switch. Switch (actually push the button) – short key ss – Shutter closed. This could be installed for a handful of euros (or francs) yourself. Some micro-locker (press button = contact closed) with keychain remote control parallel to the installed button and ready. Should you get in any electronic shop. The power supply of the receiver could be easily achieved via a lithium battery (should hold several years) or via the on-board network (has enough power in the tailgate). I have here from Leut or even over model series. But I’ve found for hours after a report about the above conversion googlet and nothing…. Really??? Gruss Christoph

  • Illumination V60 [D3S-Xenon]

    Hallå. After the exchange of the Xenon burners it seems to me that the light image has changed. On the one hand, I think that the light spreads further to the left and right, on the other hand, I see a yellowish “rand” at the end of the rather whitish light cone – difficult to capture with the camera. In my opinion, you can only install the burners in one position and snap in. Is this all normal or has a mistake crept in? How does your light image look like?

  • Poltern on the front axle?

    Day together! After switching from Saab Cabrio to Volvo S80 (MJ 2008) I am very satisfied and am looking forward to a new forum 🙂 However, I have the feeling that the front axle of my new one is poltert in unevennesses. I still know this from my 210 e-class when the Stabis were knocked out. Is this also a topic for the S80.   • Remote control for ex-works heating – Volvo V60

    At the last service in February, I asked the dealer for a remote control for my heater (Webasto) ex factory. I would have to know that the solution with the Webasto remote control and receiver in the car is no longer offered. Instead, this should now work via software and the normal car keys (see photo). Which buttons should be pressed there?? How is there a feedback?? About vehicle blinker? My dealer could not tell me exactly about this. .. but should cost 240,00 EUR and work with my key.. !? In BC there is the function Immediate start of the heater. Wouldn’t it be possible to use this function for an e.g. GSM box?? I would simply look for a line that activates the heater against mass or +12V switched on? Is this somehow possible? Does an AEM module have to be available for this? Does anyone know about this? Would I be happy about suggestions/answers. Thank you!

  • Used XC60 with automatic, or better switch?

    Just look for a new used one, probably it will be an XC60. Sumsum, all-wheel, D5/D4, emergency brake resistor, Xenon, seat heating are a must. Most used are with automatic gearbox, now some questions: 1. how reliable are these with Volvo? 2. which Aisin manufacturers were installed with XC60 from 2009 to today? 3. were there some weak points with gearboxes?

  • XC 70 or V 70 / Purchase advice

    Hello all, I am currently looking for an XC70 or V70 from year 2010. The annual mileage will not be more than 10 TKm, because it is used in addition to the commercial car, mainly to transport bicycle and dog and to pull the motorcycle trailer, possibly also a caravan (but that is not yet decided). I have not decided whether it must be the significantly heavier four-wheeler, either. Arguments pro/contra are welcome. h here already read some hints about the XC 70, like e.g. on the subject of joints. Overall the models are probably inconspicuous with regard to defects. My then V70 year 2008 ran anyway with regular maintenance about 170 TKm long distance without faults. Nevertheless, still questions remain, for whose answer I thank in advance. Diesel or petroler with 145 to 185 hp: – four or five cylinders diesel? I had so far only the 5-cylinder V70 with 185 hp. – Are the petrolers stable? – which engine would you recommend? Seat height: – compared to the V70. I can only find dates for the V70 (56cm). – Do you sit noticeably higher in the XC? Facelifts: – which years of construction are to be preferred? (Sometimes the models are also covered up)

  • XC60: Perfomance Sound – Upgrade USB

    The history starts here. I want to upgrade a USB port to the original Perfomance radio. At Ebay many different adapters are offered, which allow one. I have upgraded my radio to watch which is installed with me. (by which numbers can you recognize this?) On my request for an adapter a salesman wrote that it is not possible, because the radio has a light-guide input. (two orange cables on the edge) But where do you find an adapter? Do they both go?? What now? I haven’t seen any USB adapters with a Lichleiter cable yet. I am grateful for any help.

    Hello, everybody, someone knows a capable Volvo-Spezi in the area Oldenburg or at least not at the other end of the republic? Because I would like to have my air conditioning system repaired, which cools sometimes, but only if it is good. The coolant has been checked several times now or it definitely has the right stand. According to a free workshop, which has tried several times, “is everything ok”. But before I let everything change now on good luck, I would already like to contact someone who really knows.
