  • V60: Buy now quickly before price increase 11/2012 or wait for Facelift?

Hello, I am currently planning to buy a new car, and the V60 has the best chances. Since there is a juicy price increase on the one hand at the beginning of November, on the other hand, a facelift is obviously announced for 2013, I am faced with the decision to hit it quickly now, or rather to wait. My Mazda 6 has already nearly 180T km down, but it will last for a while, so that’s not the problem. The Facelift model has a higher residual value in return, and it may be possible to negotiate larger discounts if the FL approaches, but if you choose the “old” model, I would like to mention the topic in another thread, but I would like to have as many opinions as possible, which is why I have a special topic. What do you think about it? I am grateful for opinions … VG Moon

  • News: Volvo Car Corporation announces temporary stand-still at the Torslanda plans

For more information: Quote: Volvo Car Corporation announcements temporary stand-still at the Torslanda plans Volvo Car Corporation has decided to temporarily stop production in the Torslanda plant during week 44, from October 29 to November 2. The measure is taken based on a continuous deadline of the automotive market, primarily in Europe. Therefore a further adjustment to Volvo Car Corporation’s manufacturing operation is necessary. The decision to temporarily stop production means that the Torslanda plant e mployees will be on leave with pay through a combination of utilising time banks and leave of absence. “Europe is the main market for Volvo Car Corporation and the continued recession is naturally affecting the demand for our cars. Against this background, it is essential for us to continue to use the built-in flexibility we have within our manufacturing system,” says Jan Gurander, CFO and acting President & CEO of Volvo Car Corporation. The temporary production stop is in addition to an earl ier decision to reduce the production pace in the Torslanda plant from 57 cars to 50 cars per hour. That change came into effect on October 1. There are no plans for changes to the permanent work force at the Torslanda plant.

  • How safe is laminated glass?

Hello As I know, more and more new cars with laminated glass (with V70 and Co. now also in combination with tinted windows) are ordered in the side windows. These have the advantage that they lower the noise level in the vehicle and make it difficult to steal valuables from the car. Great, but… I have been thinking about such a scenario. What if, for example, the doors are clamped by a collision? Often, one can be rescued or recovered through the side window. However, the rescue from the side window can be greatly complicated by a laminated glass (especially when it comes to minutes). Does Volvo develop a mechanism for this case? As in trains, for example, where the rubber joint can be pulled out all around the window. (The front or heel disk) What do you think? What is the relationship between the safety of the valuables and the evacuation of the occupants from the car?

  • Resale V70 2.0D vs. 2.4D5

Hello Volvo municipality, would like to separate me from my S80 D5 and will buy me a V70 for it. I’m just not sure if it should be the D5, or alternatively the 2.0D with a hand switch. The 2 ,0 D is actually sufficient and for everyday operation completely i.o. Besides, it is under economic aspects of the secret tip when it comes to driving a V70. Where I’m not sure is at the resale. What do you think, if you want to sell the V70 again after 3 to 4 years, where is the loss of value less, with the small 2.0 d or with the D5?

  • CarImage All-wheel Compare XC60, GLK, X1

In the AutoBild Allrad no. 3 is a comparison X1 against GLK against XC60. The BMW (519 points) wins just before the Mercedes (514) and this just before the XC60 (509). Just the conclusion here: BMW + very agile driving impression + best driving performance + cheaper tax/insurance + low diesel consumption – very tight suspension – tight luggage compartment – engine vibrations in idle mode – average warranty performance Mercedes + proper suspension comfort + particularly comfortable entry/exit + high resale value + driving engine with a very powerful effect – high price – expensive comprehensive class – shorter maintenance intervals – expensive extras Volvo + largest luggage and rear compartment + most comfortable vehicle tuning + great ground clearance + maximum load – large turning circle – highest diesel consumption in the test – longer turbo delay – forecast higher value loss Based on this information, one can almost determine which car fits better to one, even if the information content of some statement is only accessible by reading the complete test Greet Martin

  • times for a change ordered a V70 🙂

Meal Volvo friends, the successor of my V50 has just been ordered – after laaangem back and forth (V60 vs V70 vs XC60, Mondeo, Mégane, …) it has become a V70 after all: V70 D4 Geartronic Edition Silvermetallic (oyster grey has unfortunately flown out of the progamm) T-Tech interior equipment anthracite, sanded silver inlays Driving assistance package Winter package Pro Volvo On Call Composite glass PDC front boot fixing system Eyewear holder Not wheel Defall Engine designation For almost the same money, however, my OHL et moi have decided for various reasons against leather seats and for understatement level regulation I saved myself like at the V50, AHK/ängerbetrieb/Fahrradräger are not relevant. Due to medium-term family planning, I took the V70 wg. space and volume in the trunk, less because of constantly maximum load in the rear compartment.

  • Questions not resolved after a week

Good day, after an exciting week V60 I still lack the answers to the following questions: – Is there the possibility to connect an IPhone (using telephone functionality) directly and without using BT with the sensus? – Is the display of the cooling water or oil temperature possible e.g. by coding changes (hidden keys?) – Can the daylight functionality be reset without the friendly? – Is it right that the stand light does not run out after some time when the key is taken off? – Is it right that the reset of the average consumption is not directly bound to the T1 or T2 memory. i.e. Reset deletes everything, T1 and T2 Thanks for answering

  • New moose approaching…

Hello all, first of all the warm greetings to all Volvorans! I am actually not a new one, but a “returner” so to speak. After long years of Volvo I switched to a Subaru Outback 2.0D in 2010. Without a doubt a good and very reliable car, there is little to complain about but…. it’s just different. (a long topic) The Subaru is rather a car for car pragmatists and I am not one of them. I also have to feel comfortable in the car and not only drive from A to B. However, after a short time it was clear to me that he had to leave. I compared different vehicles, like X3, Q5 or GLK. The test drive then brought the decision. Now, today it is so far. I order a long consideration and comparison today an XC60. Delivery time (allegedly) only 8 weeks, so first KW in May. Best greetings in May.

  • V60 Purchase advice Ocean Race vs. Momentum

After a long time we decided against the new V40 and for the V60. Here’s my compilation: V60 T3 Momentum/ or Ocean Race Business Pro Pack Security Pack Winter Pro Pack fitting sensor ZF Servo driver seat electric My better half doesn’t find leather so sparkling. They mean they get so warm in the summer and you sweat more than with the T-Tec. The other problem is the color. Electric Silver seems to be a bit tricky to hear. But the washing system will only see the new one every few months. The blue of the Ocean Race is also in the selection. But I have never seen it live. Currently we drive the V70 2.5FT with partial leather outer color Oyster Grey.
