  • AT Motor, D5 seems to be a surprise egg…

Since the beginning of the year I have been very satisfied with the car and I was surprised that Volvo is building such bad engines. the engine felt like a 1.8 liter with max. 150 hp, was – especially in urban traffic – extremely nagelig (there were my Mercedes diesels very quiet even in the past..) and loud, consumption around the 10 liters at a lot of highway. then after 60 TKM a new engine, because the old one was torn. so far, so bad. I felt that I had to torture myself still 2 years, until I can buy a BMW again. now I have a new engine in it for a week and 1.5 TKM and the car seems to be a completely different one: consumption (minus 2 liters!) finally all 205 horses on board is clearly quieter he has also become asking me now whether the previous engine was a negative breaker or a new development was installed. how do your D5 Diesel run like this?

  • winter tyres V60

so – my V60 I get in the middle of the winter and as standard equipped with summer tires (which is a nonsense – can not let me drive with it at all from the yard). Well – so still have to order a set of winter pushes. I tend to the Michelin A4,m.E. one of the best tires and strangely the cheapest offer of Volvo. There are certainly more here before this question – what did you decide?

  • New S80 / Facelifting

Hello together, actually I would like to buy a new S80 AWD diesel with HEICO chip for the next few days. I had long thought if I should buy a Volvo at all (because of the sale to the Chinese company). But the new Audi A8 won’t come out until summer and BMW and Benz are not really cars for me. Now I have heard from an acquaintance that there is a new facelifting at the S80 after the factory holidays in summer. Does anyone know anything closer to this?

  • Volvo D3 or D5?

Hello, as a long-time Volvo V70 D5 driver, I wanted to buy a new XC70 now – and was really killed by the new Volvo naming. Therefore, for all who experience similar things the tip: The current D3 with 163 hp corresponds in large part to the proven and as I find absolutely sufficient / great former D5! The current D5 is identical in structure to the current D3 – the performance increase over the D3 takes place exclusively via the software! So: Who so far drove a D5 and now wants to buy a new car, gets with the D3 not a worn out version of its “loved” D5, but a further improved engine! In short: The new D3 is the better old D5, the new D5 is a sharped D3. So I understood that anyway…and ordered the D3. 😉

  • Now he’s here, my new V70 D3 !!!

Hello together, my new one is here, now my third: Volvo V70 D3 Momentum Fleet Business Package Winter package Dachreling Parking aid front and rear upholstery Leather with reinforced side stop Delivery time: 8 weeks What can I say, it’s all perfect. The engine, the driving behavior, the workmanship fabulous. Also the Navi has improved, in relation to the predecessor. I am very satisfied. And so quiet. Real great. Greetings from a proud V70 driver Ossi PS: I thought I would write the lines so that once again about the V70 is spoken/written. And you don’t forget what a great car the V70 is. Recently the forum has become very S/V/XC 60 -lastig.

  • Questions about Geartronic in urban transport

For 1 week I have been driving a new V70 D5 Summum MJ11 with Geartronic and am very dissatisfied with the automatic in urban traffic. In the range of 50 – almost 60 km/h according to Tacho the Geartronic always switches at least one gear too high. The engine then often only runs on 1200 tours and shakes itself as soon as you touch the accelerator again. This much too underrun motor run is certainly not very helpful and also very annoying. Do you know the phenomenon too? Does this still change (keyword adaptation) and you have to live with it and switch it manually if necessary? Would I have better taken a hand switch again…

  • Navi hangs up – S60 II

Dear Volvo community, after the delivery stop of my Volvo S60 II D5 (own thread), I finally got my car on December 10th. For a week (about 500 km) everything worked perfectly. The engine is a pure power pack. Never before did I drive a better car. On this weekend the first longer tour was on: from Paderborn it went to the Christmas celebration to Oberhof in Thuringia. Up to the A4 the Navi did its job perfectly. The music from the USB stick provided for the entertainment. Then suddenly the highway on the two-part screen was gone – I “stand” in no-one’s land. Everything was frozen. On the keys I could push around – no reaction. The USB medium had stopped its service too – it was quite quiet in the car. Quite obviously a system crash. In the car was already frowned, that one might have forgotten, really all Russian jammers to dismantle … So we drove the next Rastststätte and I made a „Kaltstart” – so the engine went off and again. But the coffee again took a lot of time again. But again I made a call again.

  • Engine damage XC70III

Good morning, so yesterday evening it happened. My first engine damage in the course of my driver’s history. When driving quickly on the motorway the engine slowed down very strongly to approx. 80 km/h and then the warning came in the display “motor maintenance urgently necessary”, shortly afterwards the second message “cooling medium level low, immediately stop”. When looking into the rear mirror I saw it then also: white smoke clouds rose up. I knew so far only from the Formula 1. I drove immediately to the right on the stand strip and waited for the ADAC, which attested a very probable head damage. Then with the tug to the . Now I am really curious what that could be. I was very upset. Especially since I had to cancel all appointments and had to take all the fun with ADAC/towinger/Is rental car, about 4 hours cost me. It is my first Volvo, therefore my question. Had someone from you already such a total loss?

  • D5er dreams of the VDU in the Volvo

Hello, I’ve almost become a fan of low or entry-level engines in the meantime. I always like the V70III better, even though I still couldn’t drive it in the 2.0D version. What I noticed is that the small diesel engine is not available with automatics. First I was disappointed. Today I get the information that Ford will install the new 6-speed “Power Shift Dopplungsgerriebe” in the new Focus in early 2008 at the 2.0TDCI for the first time. So could it be that Volvo will also get access to this transmission and therefore is only in wait?! Who has experienced a DSG that is not only more economical and comfortable, but also that one can move a vehicle very sportyly. There should say again Ford brings nothing to Volvo ….. Greeting Martin

  • V70 III really a swallowing woodpecker ???

Hello dear elk community, I follow these pages as often as I can. Unfortunately, for reasons of time I can only rarely participate. Especially the contributions to the consumption of the new V70 ́s or XC70 ́s interest me very much at the moment, since my V70 D5 II. elk is slowly getting older. So a new elk has to come. However, when I read from you, the consumption values (V70 and XC70 III), I am quite unsure. My V70 D5 from 2002 consumption at 140-150 km/h (BAB) under 7 liters. You don’t have to drive so defensively or even “sleep” for it. My wife created even 6-6,1 liters. (of course, then slower) Did someone already get from you to drive the new V70 under or by 7 liters? (of course without a traffic change to have become?) Are the factory figures still realistic at all? Then, what does the XC70 III or the AWD have to consume? If the new really consume between 8.5-10 liters, then maybe I have to think about a bit of a bit of a bit more than a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
