Good morning, so yesterday evening it happened. My first engine damage in the course of my driver’s history. When driving quickly on the motorway the engine slowed down very strongly to approx. 80 km/h and then the warning came in the display “motor maintenance urgently necessary”, shortly afterwards the second message “cooling medium level low, immediately stop”. When looking into the rear mirror I saw it then also: white smoke clouds rose up. I knew so far only from the Formula 1. I drove immediately to the right on the stand strip and waited for the ADAC, which attested a very probable head damage. Then with the tug to the . Now I am really curious what that could be. I was very upset. Especially since I had to cancel all appointments and had to take all the fun with ADAC/towinger/Is rental car, about 4 hours cost me. It is my first Volvo, therefore my question. Had someone from you already such a total loss?

D5er dreams of the VDU in the Volvo
Hello, I’ve almost become a fan of low or entry-level engines in the meantime. I always like the V70III better, even though I still couldn’t drive it in the 2.0D version. What I noticed is that the small diesel engine is not available with automatics. First I was disappointed. Today I get the information that Ford will install the new 6-speed “Power Shift Dopplungsgerriebe” in the new Focus in early 2008 at the 2.0TDCI for the first time. So could it be that Volvo will also get access to this transmission and therefore is only in wait?! Who has experienced a DSG that is not only more economical and comfortable, but also that one can move a vehicle very sportyly. There should say again Ford brings nothing to Volvo ….. Greeting Martin

V70 III really a swallowing woodpecker ???
Hello dear elk community, I follow these pages as often as I can. Unfortunately, for reasons of time I can only rarely participate. Especially the contributions to the consumption of the new V70 ́s or XC70 ́s interest me very much at the moment, since my V70 D5 II. elk is slowly getting older. So a new elk has to come. However, when I read from you, the consumption values (V70 and XC70 III), I am quite unsure. My V70 D5 from 2002 consumption at 140-150 km/h (BAB) under 7 liters. You don’t have to drive so defensively or even “sleep” for it. My wife created even 6-6,1 liters. (of course, then slower) Did someone already get from you to drive the new V70 under or by 7 liters? (of course without a traffic change to have become?) Are the factory figures still realistic at all? Then, what does the XC70 III or the AWD have to consume? If the new really consume between 8.5-10 liters, then maybe I have to think about a bit of a bit of a bit more than a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.

Change XC60 D3/D4 fuel pump
Our otherwise very reliable XC60 Diesel doesn’t like to start any more. Completely fault-free off, he nudged the following day and didn’t jump any more. The Yellow Angel diagnoses “fuel pump”, which sits very advanced on the tank top of this model. Unfortunately not accessible from the interior. So all kinds of things have to be removed from below and finally dismantled the tank. Is there by chance someone in the forum who has already done this procedure before? I would be happy about all the tips! Greeting Smaxx

On XC/V70 drivers with mileage 180tkm and more
Moin Moin dear community, as already announced above, I would like to have the `experiences` of V/XC 70 drivers whose Fhrzg. have higher mileage – from 180tkm. Built from 2011. Background are the purchase of a used one and the question on my part what happened to the owners at the end of Rep. maybe. With the km performance in the short time the engine should still be very good. But what about the automatic? I know, no can clairvoyance but what is most likely to be broken / concealed at the mileage. Is the replacement better than repair. With the above numbers you can assume that was driven a lot of highway. Is that worse for the life of the GT? Everything else on the car like chassis etc. you can see when you check through (let it). It would be nice if one or the other here post his experiences, also Volvo-grabbers, who often have to do with it. Greetings from`m Norden

Transmission flush XC70 necessary?
Hello together, I have already read a little in the forum – most posts are however somewhat older and not really to my model (XC70, D5, 185 HP, MJ2008). My elk meanwhile has 230,000 km down – the automatic works still impeccable. However, I do not know if one of the previous owners has already made a transmission flushing – but I do not believe (only oil change Haldex etc.). Maintenance condition is in every case very good. TÜV without complaints get. Therefore the question: Does a prophylactic transmission flushing – and what will it cost me about?! One reads of the different providers, which do this – “Lohnt sich”. But they want to earn money after all! Since I actually want to drive the car the next approx.5-10 years and do not intend to sell the jewel, I will let this in each case the next time. The question is only: now or if one already noticed something – that can only be today, or in 5 years. At the V70 automatic D5 from my.Onkel is not made to the gear change today?

Volvo XC70 II 3.2l AWD Automatik asks for brainstorming again..
My Volvo XC70 II 3.2l AWD Automatik Bj.2008 makes following sorrows: My elk buzzes, grinds and vibrates only at the front right, at the beginning only at a strong steering impact on the right and only at the same time giving gas from 1500 revolutions.Lastly from time to time also at steering impact on the left. And even as long as it is cold. After about 10-15 km when it is warm, no noise can be heard the whole day (even after several hours).Only the next day at the first start of the day. The workshop indicates that wheel bearings / suspension / brake unit / guide handlebars are checked and in order. In addition, after disposing/mounting the above parts, noise has become quieter.Even if it stood load-free on the stage, it is noise away for two days?? Steering is easy as always, no noise from the servo pump is also acceptable. I still hope that the steering gear is a fault on the steering gear or the steering gear.

V70 accident – economic total damage or not?
Hello, unfortunately, I have been involved in an accident today. Luckily, no one has been injured. However, my Volvo has caught it so properly. The insurance company is informed and will send an expert the days. It is a comprehensive damage and I am not tied to the garage with the car. What repair costs for the friendly (which should be a repair for me then only there) can I count on? Will a repair still be worthwhile or is this an economic total damage, where the repair costs lie over 130% of the replacement value and the insurer simply rejects a repair and only compensates the difference between the replacement value and the residual value? The car is from the beginning, service-maintained and only with Volvo, full folder from Km 1 to now. The car ran until today like a Swiss clockwork, zero problems and I have always properly maintained the car. I know that a calculation of the exact damage height is only possible by a proper expert report, but I wanted to hear the opinion of the experts here before. Still few vehicle data: BJ: 10.2007 KM: 191000: No D5 jumped, no D5, unfortunately, but I didn’t got out of the wrong.

Farewell to Volvo
Hello Zäme I would like to say goodbye to you because I no longer drive a Volvo and have sold my Volvo XC60 D5 AWD. The reasons for this are among other things the new model policy and engine policy of Volvo and the lack of possibility because of the age of our children (7, 4 and 1 month) to have 3 child seats in the Volvo XC60 (too cumbersome, too uncomfortable). The integrated child seats helped nothing. The new XC90 was simply too expensive and not available within a useful period of time, and even that does not even have 3 single seats(including ISO Fix in the middle) in the 2 series. So we have now bought a VW Sharan 2.0 TSI. I will not miss a minute (I never really warmed up with the combination D5 and the 6 gear transducer automatic MJ2010), moreover we just drive a lot of short distances, the AWD unfortunately already. Good time and accident-free journey Tom

Rust / rusting on roof edge V70 – individual fate or general problem?
A few months ago, I was disturbed by stubborn “Fliegendreck” at the roof edge above the windscreen of my V70 (III). But even after prolonged soaking and polishing, the spot did not go away. If you look at it more closely, it is probably a matter of rusting. Lackabplachers are not visible at the roof edge, when the area is enlarged strongly, the place shows rust bubbles bursting up. Meanwhile, the first spot has become significantly larger and five more have joined. From week to week, it seems to be more to feel better at first than to see. According to Volvo, these are impacts of foreign bodies, so that there is no reason for any remedy from there. Stone strokes, according to my experience, lead to paint chippings, which then rust from the blank sheet – unless you do anything. But that without visible impact, just blooms from below??? Does anyone know the problem (my V70 had first registration 03/2010 in Sweden; varnish is Caspian blue metallic) or does anyone have an explanation for this unpleasantly rust-like Volvo?
