Hi dear Volvo community, perhaps in the near future would like to tune my XC60 by Heico and have following questions to you. Drive the XC60 with the D3 engine, 163 hp, but above all not an AWD but only FWD and automatic and it is the 2.0 litre and not the older 2.4l engine. Now I wonder if the 2.0l compared to the old 2.4l engine is a completely different engine? Now the real question is whether the 2.0l D3 engine with FWD is designed for the Heicotuning on 195 hp and 460 NM, but above all also the gearbox??? With the older D3 and D5 engines it was so that the two were identical and therefore tuning on the D3 was not a problem. The next question would be whether the D3 2.0l FWD has a different transmission than the old D3 2.4l and the D5, thanks?? In short, I am worried that the small D3 2.0l and FWD as well as the automatic transmission for the more than 460 would have been designed by Heico and the other D3 and the D5.

Volvo XC60 2.0 D3 Drive or 2.4 D5 AWD
Hello together By the end of month I will order a Volvo XC60 R-Design. As far as color and equipment are concerned, I’m pretty sure… BUT the decision whether to buy a D3 Drive 2.0 or D5 AWD changes from day to day … ๐ What do you think difference in consumption would be more than 2 liters?? What manufacturers say is not so realistic…I already know ๐ I tried both. D5 was with automatic machine and drive with manual transmission. Somehow you already notice the power difference but from the D5 I expected more. Compared to 2.0 Drive, I would say that D3 accelerates quite well and makes almost quieter and less noise than D5. Somehow nicer to drive…I always buy car with manual transmission, it was perhaps wrong feeling. With the D5 you should already notice +40 HP more clearly… AWD is not important to me…I almost never need AWD with front antrien…but it doesn’t exist ๐ Can someone tell me quite sure what a D5 AWD consumes more than D3 Driveu2.0s?

D3 and D5 – Chiptuning equal effect?
Hello Leut’, if I look at Daylight’s XC60 D3 (photo in the other Fred), then I notice that the D3 now has only one tailpipe again. That was the case at the beginning of the 2.4 d, later the 163PS versions got the same doublepipe system as the D5 (apparently the same engine), now with the D3 again not. The DRIVe had only one tailpipe (except the R-design variant). Frache Numma Einz: Are we sure that the D3 (2011) is identical to the D5 in terms of engine design – and thus can easily be tuned to the same performance? Or was Volvo so smart and has changed hardware-wise again? Frache Numma Zwo: I would be interested in how it looks like with the elasticity values between a tuned (now) D3 and the normal D5, because: ok, maybe higher performance possible (230 to 205 PS), but the question about the translation is never asked.

V 70 III 2.0 F 145 PS
Hello dear forum members. For some time I have been reading in the forum and would like to ask you a question. Recently I drive a V 70 III 2.0 F with 145 hp. Unfortunately I was not able to test the car before. The power of the engine is terrifying. Very loud and weak. I decided for the petrol engine because I had previously driven a 945 with 136 hp and the 14 years. I have tried to give the vehicle back to the dealer. This lock itself. Who has the same vehicle, also a little longer and made the same experiences. Thanks rl 66

V70III: 1cm space between tires and legs – and snow chains?
Hello Leuts, yesterday I mounted my winter bikes, but I noticed that there is only about 1cm space in the front between the tires and the leg of the spring. I drive 225/55R16 on steel rims. Is actually enough thick, but sometimes I also need snow chains. And these are 9mm wide (RUD easy to go) I have to worry about now? this purely computationally determined millimeter is not much. Is there so little space with you?? (Question is more for the self-changers – is there still the one? ) Ciao, Eric

ABS and DSTC want …
My V70 III has already been in the workshop twice because of the problem. Something is stored in the BC, but obviously it cannot be converted into understandable communication. Neither the workshop master can do anything with it, nor can one help him from sides VCG or even VCC. My dear wife feels with a vehicle that signals to her that with important safety features of the vehicle something is not quite in order, not really well. I can understand this and honestly don’t know what to think about it either. It is also unfortunate that the tempomat does not work on display either. I suspect that he simply stops operating due to lack of information from the bike. Who has already had the same or similar experiences and how could be helped? Many thanks in advance for every effort.

Volvo’s stand-up heating retrofit offer
Today, like many of you, I have received an advertisement letter from Volvo. They offer to upgrade a stand-up heater for only 444,- euros. “Refitting” is the wrong word. In my car, the necessary hardware is already available, because it has a fuel-powered heater. Therefore, only a new software has to be installed. For me, this is uninteresting, because my XC70 already owns a stand-up heater ex works – and just about that I’m angry now. I have paid the list price (1280 euros). Isn’t that a kind of rip-off? No one told me at the time of purchase that the “hardware” is installed automatically anyway and a software-like retrofit is easily and cheaply possible. So I could have saved more than 800 euros. Or how do you see this? Greetings from the frosty Munich Thomas

Exchange of side panes advisable?
I had ordered my XC70 with tinted laminated glass panes from B-pillar. I got the laminated glass panes but they are not tinted. Now the dealer offered me to exchange my side panes back and install tinted ones. I find this quite interesting, but wonder if in the end I don’t have more after-effects than advantages? Do any glued insulating sheets have to be removed? Can such an exchange be done “without a trace”? What do you think/know about it?

Downhill Downhill
Have a D3 GT FWD (see signature) and travel daily in the mountains and valleys of the Taunus. In order to reduce the brake wear and because it is so easy, I set the selector lever to “manual” at the beginning of the descent and switch down. In order to reduce the speed of the descent I also like to choose a very small gear. So I hardly have to operate the brake. The speed is often very high and the engine noise, let’s say potently. It is built in a limit, so that I can only choose a small gear as the vehicle “wears”. However, since I practice this every day, I am still thinking (the engine jauling doesn’t make any more relaxed) if I can not do anything damage and in the future stand better on the brake. By the way: AWD only has a mountain descent assistance (to get these answers first).
