Hello dear Volvo community, in the near future, I intend to buy a newer car, and have considered the S80 3.2 or 2.5T next to the Mercedes W212. Basically, both engines seem to be quite solid, but I noticed that the engine spaces seem to be very tight and packed especially in the 3.2. My question, therefore, would be whether experience exists, how expensive repairs in and around the engine range can be for the two variants. In the case of the S80, sometimes the steering gears and the climate compressors have broken down. Does it make a difference which engine is installed and how complicated is the exchange then? Thanks so far and many greetings Robert

Chiptuning possible
Hi Volvo colleagues! I bought the XC60 2011 D3 AWD 2.4 Bi-Turbo with 163 HP. Engine D5244T16! Lt previous owner (first possession) got a chip tuning from Volvo – how and what can he not say more exactly. Now my question – how can you determine if there is a stronger software on it? Does the Volvo with the tester look or do I have to test it? Maybe it was overplayed at the service? My father has the XC60 2.4D with 163 HP from 2008 with 1 Turbo and Chiptuning , that goes after the turbo hole then felt already better to the thing … thought the Bi-Turbo with software would attract rather more intense … it is supposedly up to 230 hp possible since it should be identical to the 205/215 hp D5 … Both by the way are hand switches … Thanks for your tips in advance! LG Peter

Presentation and a few questions
Hello to the Volvo fan base, I’ve been the owner of a Volvo XC60 D5 AWD Geartronic Summum with Inscription interior year 11.2013 with 215 hp (already the Facelift model). I came to the Volvo rather unexpectedly. I rewrapped the purchase of the old car (7 months) because it didn’t work. Ordering the new one cancels because at the moment not available as ordered or possible delivery date unclear. Then the Volvo entered my life and I am totally happy The Volvo had nearly 36,000 km on it when it was bought. Looks like new and is like new. And it has almost everything that is necessary for a relaxed driving. I only had the trailer clutch fitted when it was friendly. I also had the underbody and the cavities resealed. Now I have two questions: Does the XC60 have a second battery on board or not without start/stop automatic. The BDA says no, because no start/stop automatic. Is that true? Can I use a CTEK MXS 10 A charger directly connected to the battery or not. The BDA does not mean otherwise the battery monitoring could get problems. How do you do this if you do a card update of the Navi, which lasts 3h or determines the PIN for the vehicle via Dice. Greetings PMC

Display/sensor values wrong after inspection XC60 D3 100 KW BJ.2012
Hello everybody, I was just in my Bosch workshop of trust for the checkbook appointment. After I moved the car about 500m much had told me that the ventilation did not work and gave the car off again. Result: inexplicable, then gave a mass signal on the fan then it ran again. But according to the workshop they were not there yet near the component and only changed the interior filter. The next day I picked it up, saw on the display: Oil level just before Max (1 bar was empty) and drove about, 1 km there came the info in the display: oil level too low 0.5 L refill. So again to the workshop. Result: inexplicable, have 0.5 L refilled. I drove away again and after a few meters came the message again: oil level too low 0.5 L refill. So again to the workshop. I looked at the car from below, no leak everything dry. The next day picked up, the workshop drained the oil and measured everything. in order is, the display shows times 0.5 l refill or 1 bar oil level ok. Result: none, a call to VOLVO but there was no information, Master doesn’t know any more. Here are the errors that have occurred or occurred since the date: -Interior ventilation no function -watch in the display stood up –:– although it was set correctly, Master says he didn’t touch the battery (would there be no reason to) – Oil level display shows incorrect values -Display : no belt in the font though I am strapped – Plug connection for trailers must have a problem, after a few meters the trailer gets no more signals and there are error messages in the display. After I have removed the connections and plugged in again, however, it does not last long. Can someone help me here?

Connecting Volvo XC60 to the Internet
Hello together I would like to connect my Volvo XC60 to the Internet. I loaded the Volvo Cars app to my mobile phone and entered the chassis number. But then get an error message: “We can’t add your 2016 XC60 at the moment. We’re working hard to solve this problem. Please try again later.” Then there’s the hint that cars can be added from 2013 onwards. Then there’s only the “ready” button. Can’t start anything else with the APP. My Wiss however, it is needed to connect the car to the Internet! If not, I would be very grateful for help Gruss DetHem

VDASH Performance increase vs. Polestar – VEA
Meal Community, What does your experience look like in terms of performance improvement on VEA engines. My V70 (’16) VEA D4 has a Polestar performance optimization (181PS/400Nm -> 200PS/440Nm) at 237tkm. I want to make life a little easier for the engine on its old days and “optimize” the AGR. With VDASH such optimizations are no problem, so I decoded / unlocked the ECM and CEM and wanted to “optimize” the AGR now. In the user interface, however, I now only follow The possibilities:1. ORI + EGR OFF (133-kW Power, 400-Nm Torque) 2. ST1 + EGR OFF (156-kW Power, 440-Nm Torque) In principle, I would like to keep the Polestar optimization and only optimize the AGR.But if I now choose the 1st option, I lose my Polestar software, or is only the AGR “optimized”? I could now also choose Option 2 and enjoy the 17 HP extra power, but I am satisfied with the Polestar performance. I have already contacted the D5T5 helpdesk. I have already written to Mr Motl about this forum. Unfortunately, I have been waiting here for almost 4 weeks for an answer. If possible, one of you also has Stage 1 on his VEA and has already been able to gain some experience here? Advantages/disadvantages?

Volvo XC60 engine damage, residual value???
Now it has confirmed, our XC60 has probably a typical damage for the 205 HP D5. After changing the head seal it still blows CO2 into the cooling water. Either defect of the cylinder head or the hull itself. According to experience of the workshop (-chain) it is more the fuselage itself. We will invest nothing more and want to sell it now. The question is now, what can you ask for? Display at mobile is free but what do I specify as VB? Without damage they will be from approx. 14,000 € Data: XC60 D5 AWD Summum, EZ: 05/2011 (one of the last with 205 HP), xenium package, rear-view camera, AHK, white, hand switch, Navi (update to future free card updates made), high performance multimedia, 212,000 km, head seal new ( ), some time ago (think about 200,000 km the springs on the front axle were made new with shots (break). I have also changed brakes at the rear (slices and coverings), but is certainly already 30,000 km ago. In the Volvo – Forum on Facebook I have already asked what I want to have. However, I have no idea at all!

Got a new used XC now and I’ll have a question.
Hi, I picked up my new XC70 from the dealer last Saturday. It’s a 08 XC70 3.2 AWD. It’s almost in new condition and has only 108 Tkm on the speedometer. Yesterday I tried to make a steel rim with my winter soaps from the old 03 XC on it. Unfortunately, the diameter of the middle hole bore does not fit. My question would be now, if there are any centring rings for it, or if now I have to look around for other steel rims. n would fit in size 215 65 16 yes. Thank you very much! Have sent pictures of the new one with me. I have to say a great moose! Greetings from the beautiful OWL, Michael PS. If any of you are interested in my old XC 70? Have it now at mobile.de. Price is negotiable.

Volvo S80 T6 AWD from 2011 Consulting
Hello dear Volvo community, as you probably see on the profile I come from the Audi corner and currently drive A7, but I am rather dissatisfied with my car and looking for alternatives for a relatively powerful good all-wheeler. As mentioned in the topic the S80 T6 AWD from BJ 2011 crossed my way in the search. Since unfortunately I found hardly anything in the direction of the purchase advice of the more current S80 I was so free to start again. Is there any explicit flaws? Technology spinning of the electronic helpers? How robust is the 305hp T6 engine and is there any known problems with it? (Does the T6 actually have timing belts or chain?…. Since I have had extremely bad experiences with chains in the last vehicles and I have been looking back at the good belts) The targeted running performance that is possible for me up to a maximum of 50k. And at the end… how far away from the Data are the consumption values for Volvo? Greetings Jay

XC60 Widening Track – Need your tips!
Hello Volvo community! My very first Volvo ever arrives next week. I hope it was the right decision?! It will be a 2016 XC60 D4 FWD 8-speed Geartronic. For purely optical reasons I love to give him only a track width of 20-30 mm on the rear axle per side?! The vehicle will be delivered with the original Volvo rim “Lesath” (7,5×19″ with tyres 235/55/19. My questions to you:Do I still have to have a track survey carried out or Does that seem sensible?! Which gauge (in mm) do you recommend? or not? Which manufacturers (..and suppliers) of widenings can you recommend?! Thank you for a few good tips from experienced Volvoians! Tangopaule
