  • My neighbor wants an XC70…

A strong hej to all XC70 drivers! The following: When I parked my V70II in front of the house this week and wanted to march towards the apartment, my neighbor intercepted me. He thinks that he wants to get a new (used) car. His current Seat Leon is no longer suitable and he would need a car with a lot of trunk and four wheel. He would have it after an XC70 Mj. 2008 which stands with us in the city at a Mercedes dealer (KLICK!). What I think about it. I had to admit that I haven’t dealt so much with the Volvos on Ford platforms yet. But I haven’t heard much about these vehicles with regard to problems yet. I’ve been standing in place at the dealer’s place today and looked at it myself. Purely from the optics it’s good when you look at the km stand. My questions: I’ve already tried to inform myself about the SuFu. So really up-to-date and relevant contributions I could nic Is there any real flaws? What about four-wheel drive? This was a sad topic with Volvo in the past, because I would like to deal with the subject very slowly myself, because something like that should be on my doorstep in the next few years. Greeting Ben

  • Good bye S80 D5, welcome S80 T6 AWD

So, after my 2011 S80 D5 Executive took the final path towards Lithuania, it has been replaced by a 2015 S80 T6 AWD summum since today. Sleep 52,000 kilometers, there will hopefully still be a lot to go. Unfortunately, the sliding lid and keyless go are missing, otherwise the 2015er is naturally matured in many things, especially with regard to infotainment. He has the Inscription package, thus the same soft leather as the then executive, seat ventilation front and egg warmer h As far as the engine is concerned: a difference like day and night. Finally a 6-cylinder gasoline engine, no comparison with the gnarled D5, as far as the quietness of the running and the sound are concerned. What I lack is the analog clock. Executive drivers know. I can hurt the missing logos on the C-pillar. Images are available tomorrow when he is washed.

  • Strange electrical problems

Hello guys, I own a Volvo V70 III 2012 2.0 163 hp diesel engine. Currently with 311,000 km. I have various electrical problems: – Electric trunk does not open – Sometimes I stop the locking mechanism, but nothing from the electric motor – Sometimes I hear that the electric motor does something, but the lock remains closed. So the trunk cannot be opened. – When I drive and have my lights on, several sensors give a warning when braking. – The sensor for the trunk indicates that it is open, but it is not. On the display this warning sometimes goes very fast on and off. – Sometimes it tells me that the key is not close. I have no Keyless Go, only the key in the slot. – It indicates a warning that Start Stop must be maintained. – If I drive without light, these warnings do not appear, but the trunk cannot be opened either. – While the engine is running, I hear a warning. When I turn off the light, the noise is no longer there. The problem with the trunk occurred first. Because my start-stop system also did not work properly. When I switched on the engine and ran the engine at about 3000 revolutions per minute in the parking position, the trunk opened when I pressed the button. But at that time I also had the problem with the trunk sensor, that it was the trunk as a but after the battery change no longer, until now. I checked all fuses, but nothing was out. The battery gives me 12.6 V when the engine is off when it is on, its about 14.4 V. I also checked the cigarette lighter front and rear, which also showed more than 14V. It must either be a ECU or a cable is damaged. If it is the ECU, which could it be? Does anyone have an idea how I could proceed to ide the problem. And how can I open the trunk if the electric trunk can’t be opened? I’ve searched many pages, and it says everywhere that I either have to unscrew the handle from the inside or from the outside under the handle, but I couldn’t find anything that can be opened. Thanks for the help!!

  • XC70 – A few questions

Moin forum friends, maybe it’s because it’s about to be consecrated but in the last few days I thought about replacing the Dickelch of my better half with an XC70. Not that we wouldn’t be happy with the 90’s but technically it’s not quite at the height anymore. In addition, our old four-legged friend has so much to jump into his box, the Ldekante is relatively high. So XC70. The first question concerns the GT in conjunction with the D 5 Engine: I read somewhere that the starting weakness is still a topic. Our XC90 is equipped with GT and needs a few moments, until it finally starts. So, from your point of view, the combination GT with D5 engine has improved compared to earlier (we drive a 05 XC90)? Does all assistance systems work with the circuit? Furthermore, a question about the Polestar power increase to 230 hp. Does anyone of you have it installed in the XC70? as with the 215 hp variant? Can you confirm that there is no additional consumption? Last but not least the auxiliary heating: Is it right that in the XC70 of 2013 electric heaters are built over and that one therefore has to order the auxiliary heating and the function can no longer be unlocked? Thanks already for the answers and beautiful Christmas days Texan

  • (Chip)Tuning XC70

I think about a field optimization or a chip tuning of my XC70 (year 2016, 2.4 D4, AWD, 133kw/181PS, approx. 84 tKm) after. Of course, you can be divided here, about the whether and above all how. Maybe you can help me to make a decision, because I belong to the drivers and less to the screwdrivers 1. Is a field change better, or a a tuning box and where exactly are the differences (for a layman)? 2. Are there any risks that speak against it (I don’t guarantee any more)? 3. Is the promised fuel savings really to be realized? 4. Vmax cancellation? 5. Which manufacturers are really recommended (Polestar, RaceChip, BSR)? Who keeps what is promised? 6. What else to consider? Thanks a lot already xc70ww

  • RTTI update for the Sensus

Moin, I had my sensus updated by Volvo to RTTI. An update that is really worth it. The sensus reacts faster and smarter. In the past, the sensus often only reported a traffic jam when I was in it – now it takes me by (Stau am Horner Kreisel in Hamburg – who knows it….) But it was not easy for me to get the update. I called my dealer, there the update was unknown. The consultant said that I want the cards aktu It took me a little while to explain to him what I wanted (not RTI but RTTI) but then he wanted to get in touch with Volvo and get in touch with me. That happened a short time later. There would be an update like this and it could be done. Date was arranged, update started. Unfortunately I didn’t have any Internet access in the V60 anymore – and that’s a prerequisite for RTTI. So the car went back to Volvo. After the second attempt worked. Everything. Pleasant side effect: The parking sensors don’t sound so annoying anymore. It’s probably not just an update for the sensus. Also the Navi reports now: The goal is on the LINK/RIGHT side. Didn’t make it before. Conclusion: For €49,- incl. control a significant improvement. I can really recommend the update.

  • xc70 D3: How do you recognize Turbo-Tausc?

Hello to each other. I call an XC70, D3 automatic from 2010, model 2011, my own. I am a third-party owner. Now I have read that partly the old Turbo was changed to a new version. Unfortunately I don’t have a service booklet and also don’t know which Volvo dealer the vehicle was before. The previous owner doesn’t know if the Turbo was replaced. Is there a way to recognize this somewhere on the Turbo? I look forward to relevant information. Out. Best regards Thrusty

  • S80 2 D3 MJ 2012 or not?

Hello together, I am just about to decide to buy my first S80 and wanted to ask the experts for their opinion here. To the vehicle: – S80 D3 MJ 2012 in black-metallic, summum except seat ventilation and Blis full equipment, such as heater, seat heating front, rear, premium sound etc… – 177700 km ran, first hand, all inspections carried out from the beginning at the Volvo, check booklet and all documents available, last inspection at the Volvo on 03.2020. – Toothbelt still nic Ht changed – 8x tyres on original Volvo aluminium wheels. Tyre condition still good. – Body has some scratches and small traces of usage around it, but is a garage vehicle and the paint is not matt or futile. I uploaded some pictures from the vehicle. I could buy the vehicle for 7700€. I looked at the car/tested it and I like it very much. I am in possession of a v70III d5 MJ 08 and have very good experiences with the vehicle. The S80 d3 MJ 2012 Versio However, I don’t know. What do the experts think is a good price? Should I pay for the price? Thank you in advance.

  • Sporadic whimpering, ratters at partial load or gas removal, which then disappears again.

Once again I have something nervous again with a somewhat helpless workshop. I had a noise in the city traffic months ago, which actually sounded like if I had captured a piece of cardboard or garbage and dragged in the wheel box (no metallic screeching, rather a grinding), which then was simply gone after the standstill and did not occur anymore. But lately it comes sporadically again. With slower ride with the description as usual, at 7 0 -90 km/h but rather more high frequency for a short time, if I drive rather with partial load, or roll. Then it sounds more like a higher frequency whimpering. Usually only for a few short seconds and then away again. My OHL describes it rather as if you are dragging something along, or like the sound of the “glucky wheel”, where the ratting is then rather a whimpering. At load it has never occurred, so even at full gas no noise. In curves nothing perceptible, even at unevenness nothing. I can feel it in the steering wheel, which also meant that it was quite clear in the popometer on the passenger seat…but he doesn’t have an idea. Drive waves outside sound different, wheel bearings should start singing at curves. I simply have it straight ahead…without load, without floor waves. Now I should keep driving until it gets worse and much clearer, but my OHL finds the Idea stupid and by the way, we always have 2 kayaks on the roof, so it’s a bit complicated with the assistance in case of an emergency.

  • Purchase advice Volvo XC 60 AWD

after years of driving Mercedes and the problems there will come ever faster and sooner the next car will certainly no longer become of Mercedes own. the problem was always only rust and transmission the first W203 with the 5G-Tronic still stainless and the transmission went at 190.000KM grinding it had already after 2years the plague everywhere and all fenders, doors and bonnet were replaced and the rest was painted, the transmission 7G-Tronic rose b The GLC goes back to the dealer prematurely because rust after 6 months and at 21.000KM the 9g-tronic over. I am therefore really thinking about whether I should not take the Volvo with a manual transmission. nice on the Volvo automatic is however that I can force the gearbox into my gear in manual mode and can also roll away with 70 in the highest gear without the same wild to and fro. what is less beautiful is that you have to buy for almost all packages although you can know things don’t want, for example, an XC60 in the basic version would be enough for me to have Kinetic and I would like to have the Navi, darkened disks and Xenon. the rest naja nice to have and much to be broken. for the business package or the light package I could just warm myself up but because I buy only half-year car/year car as a rule because the value loss is simply too extreme the first months. will be a little difficult in the market because a Kinetec first order r rarely takes AWD, Xenon and navi to it. so you have to rely on something higher-quality momentum or sumnum to get these extras. almost always, however, the driver assistance package is there and that makes me worry most. as long as they work they are certainly quite nice but whether the 350,000Km in 5years is always the question. someone has already dealt with it and can say if you can deactivate all these assistance systems if they are defective without there s you have to replace ECUs or sensors ? or simply put it it is possible that I just shut them off if they have failed beepers and finished or have these systems to follow that they always add the error memory that eventually the car won’t work for me and I have to have them forcibly repaired?
