  • Wheel lock at XC60 defective – How to open?

    Hello all, with my XC60 this wreath of a rim lock (Original Volvo) is “doll” turned and does not open any more. About the search function I found no suitable thread here, so I open a new post. Long speech, crooked sense. I (and the workshop) do not get the wheel screw open any more. The workshop wants to weld now something on the screw, but this would make the rim very probably “black” by the heat. My idea would be to stick the adapter for the wheel screw with Loctite and try it like this… Do you think that could work? Or does anyone here have a different idea?

  • XC60 Cargo compartment cover – defective

    I bought my Volvo XC 60 – BJ. 2012 – a few years ago. Something later it turned out that the holders of the cargo space cover were only “fucked” to keep them for some time. The search for a spare part was not successful – there is probably only the complete role of the cargo space cover as a spare part. Now I have a solution and the exchange with was not so expensive. My new 3D printer has produced the parts now. The right part is available Thingivers as a sketch to download. The part was mirrored again so that also for the left side a sketch was available as stl file for the 3D printer software. For exchange I needed a drill and a few small drills to drill out the “old parts”, something to pop out the leftovers and then use the new printed parts – finished. Now my Volvo has again a functional blind for the cargo space cover. I think the same plastic parts le are also installed on other Volvos. If anyone needs it, please report.

  • Is anyone driving an S60 Cross Country here?

    Hello, I wanted to ask if here (preferably Southern Germany) someone is driving an S60 Cross Country as AWD. I also have one and a problem with the car myself, and would like to take a ride with your car (and/or you in my S60CC) to see if this is really a problem or it is normal.   • Handbrake parking brake electrically fixed triggers not ventilated

    Moin together, since yesterday the right parking brake hangs. The wheel remains blocked. The electric actuator/motor works audible, but seems mechanically unattainable. It also runs longer (several seconds) than usual (<1s). Can it be unscrewed without having to put something back in the control first? Basically: how do I get the brake free again?   • Improve Volvo V60 T6 Twin Engine chassis

    Hello to each other, after my V70 T5 I have now bought something completely new. A V60 T6 Twin Engine from 2019 with 120,000km, one of the last of the still more than 180kmh runs Generally I am very satisfied with the car after the first 5000km, driving feeling is very good, electric range is usually (0°- approx. 33km), power is more than sufficient. The only thing that bothers me unfortunately is the chassis. It is generally i.o. but unfortunately a little too tight compared to my V70 before/after lowering. The chassis is equipped with 4C but this only changes the damper rate to my knowledge and has nothing to do with the spring strength. A nice gimmick but in my opinion hardly really noticeable. I wonder if there is a possibility to change the firmness of the chassis with e.g. other springs or rims/tires (currently 18inch 235/45). I have also seen that there is a KW V3 also for the V60, there is possibly a report of experience in the comparison. with the original chassis. I would be very happy about tips if someone has something that could help.

    Hello dear user, yesterday after our holiday in Italy my Volvo was divorced from life. Overall we drove in the last 10 days 3,000 kilometers by car. Yesterday on the return trip the unthinkable happened. We drove down from a rest yard after we made a short toilet break. When I then drove on the acceleration lane and accelerated, the car accelerated quite normally up to approx. 100KM/h and at once took no more gas a n. When I looked into the rear-view mirror I saw a black smoke cloud. So we saved ourselves with the engine switched off and waited for the ADAC. Today we got a call from the Volvo contract workshop and the nice gentleman on the phone told us that the car has a motor damage and we have to get an replacement engine. Cost point : 10,000Euro After I talked to the Vetragwerkstatt at our place today, he only said, Is that okay? I think it’s a bad performance for Volvo, because the car is just 3 years old and has a checkbook. It only has 79,000KM down. Furthermore, the car has been lying down four times in the 3 years due to problems with the turbo and every time again had problems with jerking during the ride. For 1.5 years now, the car has been running at the same time. n was quiet until yesterday… Here is a short list of the changed parts in the period from 14.08.2013 to 15.01.2014 – Charging air tube Turbocharger – Charging air cooler Turbocharger – EGR valve – Turbocharger control valve – alternator Can it be that these things were already harbingers? Does this increase the longevity of the components in the engine compartment or rather result in consequential damage due to water in places where it does not belong due to the high pressure when washing.   • Steering suddenly difficult – what cause?

    Moin, with my XC70 EZ 09 D5 GT AWD 221 tkm since today suddenly the following problem: car parked in front of the supermarket. When driving off a more than heavy steering. The servo support is definitely no longer available. I then tortured myself with the car to my nearby workshop. Error messages were only shortly before the workshop. Battery symbol and red triangle. No further messages. Here in the forum have reported some of the failure of the servo pump. The battery symbol makes me a bit stubborn here. Battery is quite new and can not actually be empty.
