  • S80 FWD or AWD, what is more recommended?

Hello dear Volvo friends, after I have been reading here for a long time and Aunt Google could not give me satisfactory information, I ask the experts here. First of all my starting situation: Currently we manage our everyday life a Mercedes 220 CE (year 1995, petroler, 150 HP) and a Peugeot 405 (year 1991, petroler, 120 HP). Since both sweethearts are now youngtimer on the way to the oldtimer, I am already thinking for a long time about how it should go on auto. Now I want the gels My favourite is a later Volvo S80 D5, which I would like to know now, is whether I should rather take one with front or all-wheel drive. The theoretical differences (traction, winter and trailer operation advantage AWD or consumption, weight advantage FWD) are known to me. Since the purchase prices of the AWD versions are not higher, I wonder if there is a hook. Therefore, how does it look like? Ktisch out: Does the AWD show positive (or negative) in everyday life? Are any problems that speak against the AWD (or FWD) known? how expensive (priced) repairs may be compared to the FWD In other words: is the AWD or the FWD to be preferred from a technical point of view? The better winter characteristics are by the way not really relevant with us in East Westphalia-Lippe. I hope that someone can help me with the decision, Rainer

  • XC70, extension of lower front grille (PDC)?

Hello, does someone happen to know if you get the lower grid (with the two internal PDC sensors) even without disassembly of the bumper? And if so, how? In Vida it is only described with removal of the bumper, as well as with the radiator grille, which you also get so “fumbled”. Background of the question: I have to renew my front PDC cable tree.

  • Coolant loss

Hello, I will describe here my problem, which should probably be known to many, or already there are some threads to it. I noticed with my S60II D3 already last winter the coolant missing, or has a loss. This was 2015/2016 in the winter. Haber thought nicely after thought ok will be ok. About the meagre spring, summer until autumn was nothing…Now now on the cold days, for a few weeks, I have again coolant loss… When I open the lid slowly, zie The hose is also very hard, and after pressure check after Volvo say immediately, no D3 engine is known with ZK problems…If the first…wanted to make ZKD immediately, without CO2 testing. In addition, I have the feeling that the Volvo does not pull asoo as before…come up to 200 km/h…with ach and krach…wasn’t like that before… Then I went to the workshop around the corner…This one has a little leaky it tested….negative Then CO2 test done….negative…. now I should just drive like this… Or do I just want to have ZKD done for expensive things like this? Since it could not be determined… Therefore my question: has someone possibly had the same symptoms? Is what known? Am really desperate with the cart… For answers and advice I am grateful… Gruss Enekin….

  • Diagnostic tool from Biltema: Who is interested?

Servus, I’m going back to DK on holiday on 17th August for 2 weeks. Since I want to buy a part of it myself, I could also bring more devices with me if I were interested. Here the link:https://www.biltema.dk/…/diagnosisvarktoj-til-volvo-2000046392 Execution would be as follows: – Pre-transfer via PayPal Friends and acquaintances – Purchase for my part depending on the desired quantity (max. 5 pieces, would be something much else – shipping in the 1 September week to the respective interested party I can send via offer a friend free of charge, also one of the reasons for the quantity limit. Everyone must now know for themselves whether he wants to take the “risk” with me. I can only offer it. Please no discussions regarding risk and money etc… Who does not want, does not have to.

  • Diesel(?) collects at injectors

Dear community, after almost 10 problem-free years (the V70 was bought used) – also thanks to the forum here (had once an account for my Clio and then for the Volvo) – I or also the contract workshop is faced with a mystery. Whereby the contract workshop could probably solve that, but they somehow lack the incentive :=) Here are the basic data: – 1.6 liter Peugeot Motor – MY 2010 – 109 hp – 215,000 km – DPF exchanged at approx. 120,000 km – before approx. 3.000 km injectors new a regular service at the Volvo dealer Symptoms up-to-date: – on the cylinder head cover (I hope so) next to or at the injectors, a more or less clear liquid accumulates already after a few minutes of driving. It should be diesel (for oil it is too liquid and clear), at least for me it smells like diesel. – the car gets hot faster: I have often had the phenomenon that the air conditioning is deactivated and as next stage the display “E I never had that in all the years – extra consumption by approx. 0.8 liters (since approx. 5,000 km I have a slightly increased consumption. This is now about 6.2 – 6.4 liters. Before that I had no problems to reach 5.6 – 5.7 liters.) To my question: How would you proceed to find the error? (Workshop says it is not a fault.) At the injectors the seals were recently renewed. If the engine is running ke in diesel exit on the various lines (at least at first sight). Where could the diesel (if it is diesel) come from? Here is a photo of the left injector. (I can also take a photo of all injectors.) Thank you very much! L.G. Kerihuelo

  • Detach V60 D4 camshafts…

Hello everyone, Does anyone have a few tips on how to best proceed if the camshafts had to go down with 181hp (D4204T5) on the 2014 V60 (D4204T5)? I would have turned KW and NW wheel on markings, belts down, then valve cover off, NW wheel off. Then unload the NW evenly? Or is there a special position that you have to adjust similar to some BMW before you can release it? Then, when installing the NW, just tighten evenly and then to torque? Are there other valuable tips here? Thanks in advance, Lg, Michael

  • Problem: Automatic lighting

Hello together, I have recently had an XC60 Mj. 2014. Like all “new volvo drivers”, I also have to get used to the non-existent coming home function. The button on the remote control has its advantages. But I don’t think this function works properly with me. According to the operating instructions, “Abschlendlicht, Standlicht, Spiegelleuchten, …” should approach these buttons when operating. With me all lights are on, only the dipped light is not. Can you program this? s on the xenon light? Thank you for your help. MfG Tom

  • Which shock absorbers for the front axle at S80 2 2,5T

Hello, the shock absorbers on the front axle of my S80 2 2.5T are over. How can I find out which shock absorbers are currently installed with which code? I tried to read out the “vehicle information” with Vida, where it is supposed to be, which code the built-in shock absorbers have. But that’s not possible. There is an error message that Vida wants to access something – maybe a server on Volvo? – which does not work. How can I get the information about the code ode r which shock absorbers can I install if I don’t know the code? Thank you for answers! Friendly greetings Put

  • XC60 Diesel without Adblue a problem for the future?

Hello, I love it with an XC60 diesel from 2016/2017. Almost as an annual car or a young used car. Now they all have Euro 6, but no adblue. How do you see this for the future? Of course, nobody knows how to continue with the diesel at all. But I also don’t want to invest 30k and shortly there is a problem driving currently two Golf TDI with Euro 5 and the scandalous engine, that’s enough for me. From Sept. 2019 there should be no new registrations without Adblue anymore. W You can see that if you can say anything reasonable about it.
