  • When should you sell a Volvo?

My Xc 60, 2,4L, 210hp, manual transmission is BJ 2008, since 2010 my possession. Current KM stand, 196′, scare booklet at the friendly… The last 12 years normal wear, but the last 12 months, repairs without end. Come on with: – Differential gearbox defective, – Haltx defective – ECU defective Everything repaired, Between by again customer service, no major abnormalities Today to the workshop there squeaking.. Currently defective: – crossbar rear left and right – brake calipers back tight – neat rust on the underbody Now comes out the rear axle again, remove rust and seal and the rest new. Yes….. There is again the question of all questions: When is the right time to give off the car…. Will not have any discussion here, just share my experiences, since it is one of the first xc60. We only use the car as a second car, must no more than bringing me to work every day (35km) so everything is relaxed. Greetings and a nice evening

  • VDASH – How does it work?

Hello, I’ve been dealing with VDASH for a while now, but I won’t be really smart about it. There are free features like error reading and paid? I would like to add the Autolight function to my moose, for example. Do these extra packages cost extra money? As I understand it, I have to “crack” the code of the CEM via VDASH, which can take a little eternity, correct? I need a compatible DICE, a laptop with VDASH. Internet access, support battery for the vehicle, because it must stand on ignition II during the code reading operation, right? Is there any way to have it done in its surroundings? I only have a communal garage where I can not leave the moose standing unattended for a whole day and no internet is available. What happens if the moose is in service 2.0 with the friend and then updates the software if necessary? Is the additional software then gone via VDASH? Maybe someone’s gonna help me out.

  • Engine damage??? Engine runs but clacked.

Hello everyone, my wonderful Volvo V70 has a motor damage. That says at least the nice man from the ADAC, who told me to be a learned roofer… I had him to be towed to Volvo in the middle of the night in my distress, but they didn’t even look at him and offered me to change the engine for 12,000 euros. So I picked him up again and found that he started and the engine was running. However, he makes an unhealthy sound. Unfortunately, the problem is not solved. It starts, the engine runs calmly for about a minute and then you hear a metallic cracking irregularly. Did any of you have a similar problem or any idea how to go on troubleshooting? I am very happy about all the tips and ideas of you. I still don’t want to give up my little Swedes. Thank you for your help and many of you Greetings! Sarah

  • MKL V70 III, 145PS, built in 2008

Moin together, this morning the MKL went to me during a move. Otherwise no noticeable changes. I have heard quite once that the exhaust gas values change so that the Lambda probe complains. Now unfortunately I have no tester at my hand, only from Monday again. Currently I have the vehicle battery clamped off for a long time, maybe that helps. I know the information is poor and I try to get more information: but do you think I can get more information about the car? Is there any idea what it can still be, what can be checked for? Have the good one not been so long, have already read something of adjustable camshaft and sensors that I can measure. So multimeter is there, can I check something with it? And if so, where do I tackle it? Greetings DerKlet

  • Problems with the particle filter

Hello together, first of all, I have little idea of cars, so please for tolerance. I drive a Volvo V60 Diesel, 163hp, BJ 2015, 130Tsd KM. So far I had no problems. I use the car only to commute to work (one-way 45km). A short time ago a message appeared on the display on the way to work: “Maintenance engine system required (or similar)”. At the same time the power of the engine was severely throttled. Until then, the problem had disappeared on its own and also the message. The error memory resulted in: “Regeneration time particle filter exceeded (or similar)”. The car mechanic could not do much with it, advised me to turn directly to Volvo when reappearing. At Volvo I had also called afterwards and they could not do anything with the problem description. Today the problem has occurred again. It was remarkable that in the days before the first appearance of the problem I drove more short distance than usual. Do you have any advice? Thank you.

  • V70 III Total windscreen wiper failure

Hello dear moose drivers, since yesterday the windscreen wiper of my V70 MJ2010 doesn’t want any more. It doesn’t matter whether it turns on the rain sensor or tries the different modes. I’ve already tried the following: -Clamp the battery for a few minutes -Safety checked (yes, the fuse no. 9 which is completely sick in the engine room). Interesting is that when I activate the rain sensor, the green LED lights up in the button for about 1/2 sec. and then again it’s clear. If anyone still has a good idea, let him make it known. LG Malte

  • Grinding drive shaft right front in cold condition

Hi! Here I have a 2008 V 70 III T6, which produces in cold condition grinding noises from the drive area at the front right. When I turn the right front wheel (on stage), the grinding noise comes along and it also shortly follows when the wheel is already standing still. Seems to come out of the gearbox somewhere. In warm condition the noise is gone, in cold condition it is clearly audible in the interior. Does anyone have a tip? Greeting,Martin

  • Door handle stays hanging

Hello, with my S60 several door handles hang after opening. But you can push them easily again or you close the door strongly. Basically it is only an optical problem, maybe some oil is enough in the right place? Thanks for tips!

  • Problems Windscreen wiper V/XC70 III

Hi, everybody. My XC70 has a phenomenon that makes me quite stunned now. Since the pick-up at the wipe, always light stripes remain directly in the viewing area. As with older wipers, which I have always had exchanged directly with such signs. Important: For at least 10 years I have always had this done, which probably always used original spare parts for me. There were never any problems. Anyway, I have claimed this several times, the wipers were changed several times (4 – 5 times), in the summer even the whole mechanics. Without improvement. Another recommended to have the disc changed… Had now complained about it in connection with other problems at VCG in Cologne, then the nice man on the phone told me immediately that the problem was known in Sweden and one would work with high pressure on it. There should be a solution there at short notice… The interesting thing about it is that I had the problem yesterday I was so annoyed by it that, contrary to my habit, I just got some Airtwin wipers from Bosch. Mounted, problem solved! I wonder, what do they do??? Does one of you have the same problem? Greetings P.com

  • XC60 MJ2015: Racising wind noise between 80 and 120 km/h

My XC60 already has a long history of suffering with regard to unpleasant noises in the interior. My friend, however, has now managed to free the center console from its permanent snare after countless attempts. However, for a few weeks now I have noticed a quiet rustling noise, which comes from the A-pillar area of the passenger side between 80 and 120 km/h. The noise is quiet, but still annoying. It sounds like, for example, a dry I’ve searched everything, but I can’t find any leaves or other foreign objects in the area. The seals outside all seem to be tight. An attempt with folded outside mirrors was also negative. Someone an idea?
