  • Instrument failure on an S 60.

Moin, moin, this is my first visit to the Volvo-Talk, otherwise I am on the road in the BMW E39 Talk. In this case it is about the commuter car of my son-in-law. It is about a Volvo S60, first series, year March 2000, 2,4l, 170hp with a Prins gas system. Previous mileage 327,000 km. For about 2 weeks there are sporadic failures of the combination instrument, which attracts the failure of the instrument lighting, the climate control, all indicators, the seat heating. of the blower, the The rear window heating, the window lifter and the entire interior lighting result. The only lamp is the gear indicator of the automatic. What has been done so far: a repair attempt of the combi instrument by a renowned company that eliminates pixel errors. Apart from a bill of 59€ and the statement “irreparabel” no success. After visiting a free Volvo workshop with the statement ” 100% the combi instrument” was made a new repair attempt. This other company said un s, you have no simulation for this part because it is from the first series. In one test you soldered all the suspects known to you. Unfortunately, the success lasted only 2 days. Then I installed a used AI with exactly the same designations, again no success. Of course all fuses were checked (visibility and passage test). We are at the end with our Latin. The visit of a Volvo dealer is not possible for cost reasons! I hope now that the verbal The knowledge of this forum can show us a fingertip to heal the moose. Without heating it is already quite cold in the car. Sorry the length of the article. Greeting from the north Bernd.

  • Who does the start-stop function in XC60 (Automatics / Eco-Mode) get on the nerves?

Moin, that Volvo doesn’t have the smartest start-stop automatic I know from my V60, but now in the new XC60 (automatic) it has become even worse. In eco mode the engine (and thus also the steering power support) starts at 3km/h. So if you are standing on a crossroad and slows down briefly, the engine is off and needs his 2 seconds again until he realizes that he shouldn’t. Not so nice for me and all the others involved. At Audi ka nn you control the function by means of pressure on the brake pedal itself, that is a dream, with Volvo it always goes out, even in the city every few seconds, depending on the speed. Follow: I switch it off completely at the start of the journey (on the highway you don’t need it either…). That the function switches off the engine immediately after the start of the journey, even at the lowest levels of advantage, a sensor then realizes that it’s fucking cold outside and inside it too and it motor after a minute of driving. rt too, and then he starts again, is unfortunately really no mistake, according to my friend the software is a bit stupid and can’t help it… Otherwise I am completely happy with the car (except for the lukewarm speed-dependent volume control, but that was another thread 🙂

  • XC70 D5 temporary loss of power

Good morning, in advance: I have read here since yesterday about 25 contributions on the topic “no gas acceptance”, but mostly it was about the XC60, and with many conjectures to the cause, but in none of the contributions I found, how the problem was finally solved. Our XC70 yesterday after a motorway construction site (Tempomat was active) did not want to accelerate any more. The speed went up, however, the speed was hardly increased. On the same track we arrived just like this. 130, on the lightest climbs the speed dropped. Tempomat off, manually switch off, distance control – all in vain. After we had parked the car in the next parking lot for about 5 minutes and finished, it ran again as if everything was fine. The error did not occur any more on the next 130 kilometers, even this morning everything was ok. We only had the car for two weeks, it is a D5 AWD (185 hp), Mj 2009, 177 T Km. Has someone here in the forum this Error picture also experienced and can successfully fix? Or a link to a corresponding post with solution? Thank you in advance, Michael

  • On-board clock goes back and forth

Moin in the round, with our V70 II (MY2012) the clock in the station wagon always goes after by a few minutes. It looks as if the time is “smooth”, i.e. only one minute, then after a few weeks it will be two etc. Now to my guess: Can it be that when the engine starts the power supply breaks in for a short time and the clock then stops for 1-2sec.? And this accumulates then over several start processes per day just up?! To our on-board network: We have a new 12V AGM starter battery built 4 years ago. In the current situation, however, I suspect rather a waste of the auxiliary battery, which is actually supposed to stabilize the on-board grid during take-off operations. This has not been changed for 12 years. The small battery on the passenger side is meant with 12V, 10Ah and VRLA/AGM technology (Volvo part number 32238082). Now the question in the round: Am I right with my guess? Are there other reasons for “drifting away” the time? Is there any experience with this topic?

  • XC70 II – Emergency Run – Mistake throttle, but that’s not it?

Hello, we drive an XC70 AWD D5 with 185kw, built in 2013, Km-Stand ca 254000. Around March / April 22 the car did not want to start several times when it was warm and ran partly in the emergency program. As a result a new throttle was installed in a free workshop due to the error messages in the memory. Subsequently the car ran smoothly until it had a power drop at about September / October 22. This had an effect so that the car after starting as in the emergency program without turbo, after about 5 – 10 km but pulled quite normal. During the ride the problem did not appear, there was no error message or warning indicator in the display. The error message was again ECM-21750, throttle valve, low air flow. Also did not occur at every start, about every 5th time. Now was renewed by the free workshop of the “load air hose pressure tube throttle valve” and “load air hose intake tube” (So it was on the bill). When the same problem reappeared in February 23, the free workshop sent me to the Volvo dealer because he could read out more. He had as the only suggestion to renew the throttle valve. My free workshop had on guarantee changed the throttle valve built in the previous year. Afterwards everything was fine again. In June 23 the error (P2175) occurred again with the same symptoms. The throttle valve was removed for inspection and sent in, but no error was found. The pressure tube was renewed. Again everything was fine. In December 23 it started again with the same problems. Again a new workshop was tried. Here the Lambda probe was renewed. Again everything was fine until it started again in November 24. Same problem as always, but this time with engine control light, and emergency run at almost every start. After at least 10 km drive everything is normal again, the vehicle pulls up again a cold start. A new battery has The only other error messages in the memory refer to the Haldex: P188913 Oil Pressure Pump Performance The normal driving cycle of the Volvo is 2 x 25 km a day, a bit of city, short highway, then highway and back. In between 1-2 x per month a longer highway route. Since both my free workshop and Volvo has no further idea, except gradually to exchange all parts, any idea would make me a positive Erge bnis leads to joy. Thank you very much

  • Bug Start Stop Volvo V60

Moin moin love moose community. I have the following problem with my v60 bjr 2013 2.0T 163 ps. And though my start stop does not go since I own this vehicle, because he has a mistake with the BMS. Then I looked at it all today and saw that there somehow a cable and a plug is missing. I don’t know why or what the predecessor did but somehow that’s what lazy. I would like to know where the cable goes with the plug to see where the with me is.

  • Rear flap

Hello Have a question for my neighbor. With your xc60 the electric tailgate spins for a week. From nothing an engine (not heard) in the tailgate makes noises. Then it lasts for hours and then goes away again. At the time no reaction on the tailgate. No matter what you press- it does not do anything. But the noise remains. It was previously not done at the car- neither driven nor opened. I self-trained mechatronics technician do a different job for years abe r I was wondering if anyone knows Dad problem. Has happened 3 times in the last 7 days. But wasn’t at home at that moment. So the sound just comes like that. Are at noon out of the house car stood since the evening before and hear the noise. Something turns on by ghost hand. If one then opens the tailgate / closes hours later there are no problems noises. Thank you Beautiful Christmas

  • V70 D5 light flickering, exterior and interior.

Hello municipality, I noticed earlier, during car washing, that my light was extremely flickering, inside as well as outside. I had standing light on, the engine was running because I wanted to shower the car only briefly. I first came to mind to turn up the D5 Ü3000 RPM, problem was short time away. Fing however relatively fast again. So then I went shopping at the neighboring Kaufland and came out again, nothing was any more. Everything normal. Could here possibly. The generator controller have a Macke en ? The colleague has run 307xxxkm, generator free run I have already replaced. Or announces here a generator failure It greets CZEA1989

  • Strange phenomenon with central locking

Moin! Yesterday I noticed something strange: I drove with my wife to my mother. After the visit we went to the car and I pressed the opening button from the transponder key. Then when I saw the blinker confirmation and the folding outside mirror, I saw that my wife was already getting in… So the passenger door opened already before closing up… We could then reproduce this phenomenon at home a few more times… I closed the car and the passenger It was only when we were playing around on the buttons in the doors (ZV version with buttons with lights on all doors) that we were able to achieve a complete locking (also the locking during or after starting was affected). A study of the description actually only revealed that during the closing process I was now paying attention to whether the turn signals were glowing, otherwise the locking would not be complete. The LED in the centre console on the windscreen should then flash when the vehicle is locked. It was quite frightening for me yesterday, because I had already a few weeks ago this “Hm… does the turn signal not work anymore?”Thought had thought… Was my passenger door not locked for a month now? When I then parked the car yesterday and locked it, the turn signals went on. Also a control gang around the vehicle with test on the door handles was successful, the driving teu g was now completely locked. Is there any funny function that prevents the locking of the passenger door? I have a service appointment with the friendly one on 13.8., because I would like to mount the problem again (if there is no function that provokes this “phenomenon” and then I make myself a monkey at the “monition”… 🙂 ) Greeting from Hamburg Olli

  • Engine goes out in the middle of the ride!

Volvo V70 III, D5, D5244T4, built in 2008 I have had the vehicle since the end of 2011. The following problem: At the beginning about once a year (every 20,000 km) abrupt (with one blow the drive is gone, no further ignitions, tell-tale lights then go on) going out during the ride, after about 10-15 minutes then normal start again. Immediate starting is not possible, he only orgs. In the years of frequency increasing, 6 months ago defect of the injection nozzle 1, repair, diesel particulates Since the increase in frequency, now approx. every 30-50 km abrupt going out during the ride, after approx. 10 minutes as described again starting possible. When going out no connection with certain driving situations can be recognized. The vehicle was already presented at the BOSCH service, there no relevant error message in the OBD. The throttle motor was then changed as possible cause (was expensive and meaningless). I bought an OBD logger, the z It is interesting: I have changed the relays 10, 11 and 13 in the engine compartment fuse box, does not change anything. BUT: When the engine runs out, jumps, if one pulls out one of the two grey relays and plugs in again, the motor SOFORT on! As if a voltage had to be “let off”!
