Do you know that? The windscreen wiper goes to the left and cleans nicely. It goes to the right and smears something. A few streaks only, but still visible and disturbing. It always runs like this, at every temperature, at every bad weather, whether now is almost only water or like the last days, often only little moisture from cars driving ahead, mixed with road dirt. New leaves have not brought any improvement. (If I could only reprogram the windscreen wiper that it could Always left stops in the interval – I would always have clean windows.) Does any of you have any idea what to do? Are there working nano-tech stories? Appreciative for tips. The “many-in-darkness and bad weather riders”.

Bixenon headlights blades
Hello to the community! I bought a S80II with Bixenon headlights. The surface of the headlights on the leaves was already on the purchase. At least not milky, but rather like a chirping foil! Can you fix this with a polish? Has someone already gained experience? I just want to have one TÜV period time and get replacement. New ones at Volvo cost approx. 950€! I’m open for suggestions! D4 181 hp diesel engine
Hello, and Merry Christmas! Quick question, after reading numerous posts and purchase advice here in the forum over Christmas: Can I buy the D4 4 cylinder with 181 hp from year of construction 2015 with around 150,000 km mileage in the V70 basically „calmly? 2017 there were discussions about AGR coolers, oil dilution, oil consumption etc. … I am looking for a reliable permanent runner, who also moves our caravan 1700 kg several times a year “at full throttle over the Alps”. There are some examples that have also run 200,000 km and more. Or maybe also the recommendation to take another engine. (I was only 5 cylinders. Bloss with the 5 cylinders you read more often about cooling water loss, head problems, etc. This does not have.) Thank you.

Timely sound loss of the audio system
Hello and good morning in the round After purchasing the car (XC70 II, 2.4 D5 AWD, EZ 2013) I had a temporary total failure of the audio system (the topic has been discussed here in detail in the forum) I got a new Mediaplayer module (MPM). The system ran without any problems. However, for some time I have a similar problem again. The sound (radio, navigation, telephone, parking aid) interrupts temporarily, but then comes after different times like During a telephone conversation, my interlocutor can still hear me. However, I have no sound. I can’t see a pattern of times. I sometimes drive for days without problems, then again the error occurs every 5 minutes. Partially, the BT connection to the mobile phone is interrupted. If the interruption takes too long, I can repeat the sound by switching off and on the audio system. In contrast to the first error, there is here at interrupting the The car doesn’t have to be turned off and the door opened. I hope someone has the right idea here. First of all, thank you to those who have read up here.

Frozen disk (receives again and again…)
Hello together I found a (at least for me) peculiar behavior with my V60 today. I drove from about 32°C and bright sunshine towards the west into a cold front with permanent rain. The outside temperature fell quite quickly to about 18-20°C. The air conditioning was constantly off, all windows and sunroof closed. I myself did not get out at any time, so did not wear moisture with the clothes in the car. After about 40 minutes drive through the permanent rain (sometimes weather-like) I then noticed a very light (really minimal) fitting of the windshield. I then turned on the front disc heating and soldering. After a few seconds the fitting was gone and the view was again great. But suddenly the disc started to fog from the lower corners in a U-shape (round around) – and indeed so strong that I have seen almost nothing. The disc heating / ventilation then has the problem again within seconds. Unfortunately, it went on until I was home. Hardly did I turn off the ventilation was the disk again. Is that normal with the V60? Didn’t know such behavior with my other cars. Could something leak or be blocked somewhere? I assume that everything is mechanically in order at the ventilation. I am grateful for your tips and experiences!

Innumerable “Micro-” stone blows on windshield
Hello together, with the windshield of my V70/III Summum (EZ 2015) I noticed recently that it is covered with countless tiny stone strokes (or similar). I have only been driving the vehicle for about 6 weeks. At the beginning I didn’t really notice the problem, or it just looked like a slightly dirty disk for me. However, a treatment with various cleaners as well as disc cleaning foam did not bring any improvement. With the magnifying glass you can I’ll try to take a picture of it. The whole thing is striking and a bit annoying when driving with backlight (deep sun). It’s the heatable front windshield Saint-Gobain Sekurit 43R-002687 with year ́15, so probably the first disc. Then I got a few other used V70s with Saint-Gobain disks closer to a nearby Volvo dealer. In the past, I didn’t notice anything like this in any other vehicle. Could you observe this phenomenon as well? What’s the reason – are the front windows of the manufacturer Saint-Gobain particularly sensitive? Can you minimize the damage in any way, so that the damage is less disturbing? I suspect that the Liability Insurance only pays for a “real” rockfall. What would a disc exchange (incl. assembly/justice of the sensors/cameras) cost about? Best regards!

V70 Rockfall disc exchange, experiences
We had a stone or something banged on the windshield last night. Now it’s broken and needs to be renewed. Does anyone have experience with the big disc species like Cargals? Since our appearance has everything in electrics that Volvo had to offer, the question is whether it all works out that way afterwards. Have already the 3rd rain sensor in there because the constantly flowing liquid. Therefore the question to you. Has someone already experience with a spare disc of a a third party, or body to the ?

Heavy knocking while driving slowly and uncoupling
Hello everybody, my car makes strange noises. I realize that a remote diagnosis is difficult, but maybe someone has an idea. The car always has a – how should I say? – “robust” idling. The vibrations are clearly noticeable. But is also a large diesel and it is not quite new anymore. That’s all right. But if you drive slowly forwards or when you park slowly backwards and use only the stationary gas, then it sounds like someone is r The sound is so clear that it makes me feel a little embarrassed when neighbours are standing there. When that came and if it gets worse over time, I can’t say. What’s the like: once you’ve heard it, you always hear it. In addition, the engine noise changes in a way that you can understand when you uncouple. Then the idle noise reminds you of the noise described above, but not quite as extreme. a tractor from the 60s. By the way, the engine control light does not make a sound. Idle speed is also constant at 700 rpm. Maybe someone has a hint? Soon (?) he gets summer tires again, then he is in the workshop. Good opportunity to have something checked… Many greetings Jochen

S60 MY14, one brake warmer than any other
Hello municipality! During the last weeks I noticed a whistling/quitches/twishers after a few kilometers of driving. I could not assign it for a long time, only so about that it comes from the left was clear. Also, that it occurs all the more colder it is (about somewhere below zero) was to be determined repeatedly. At an appointment in the workshop everything was of course normal, on a test drive and on the stage nothing could be found. Only on the return journey it started again. Then it has been quiet for a few days. Later I drive some time into a parking garage, window down for the parking ticket and then I hear a loop from the rear left when driving slowly. After parking I once touched the windows. Back left warm to hot, so that you don’t want to warm up for more than a few seconds comfortably. All other brakes were cold. I watched this the next days – even if it (it was warmer again) did not squealish This one disc was always much warmer than the others. So I went back to the workshop (because I was loyal to my official dealer, where I bought it). Now a hanging of the brake was attested. As the probably soon seemed due (about 107.000km) I was recommended to exchange the discs and coverings. After that everything is free again, I inquired lay-like. Yes, after that it is good again, was confirmed to me. A week later, today, was on the rear axle As spare parts are noted on the invoice a brake block set, brake disc set and brake spray (for which one task a whole can for 4,50€?). With work 522,82 grosso – in Upper Austria. Now both brakes are warm at the rear. Well, that might have to drive in or so I think, but still it is warmer on the left than on the right. What do I do now? Keep watching? Immediately complain? According to my feeling, only the result of a symptom was fought, a The reason seems to exist. An ESP problem? If the exchange was actually not displayed I would have had less than 15,000km of rest. At no service was suggested to me that the brakes will come soon. How would you react? Thank you and lg Torsten

V70 III D5 Service intervals – what is mandatory?
Moin together, I’m still new here but actually long Volvo driver, namely since now 19 years. Equally old is our first Volvo, a V70 I TDI. If he is still so good, he rolls soon over the 800k km. Volvo4Life I only confirm there! Now there should be Volvo offspring. There is now a new V70 III D5 MJ2013 R design in the family and, after a long search, with manual transmission. 122k he has been behind him. The good thing has always been to service with Volvo. Nevertheless, a mistake has been made. The service for 90,000km was done two times according to the calculations. Only at 90,000 – OK! Second at 120,000 – not OK? Therefore my question: Are only oils and filters and what is noticeable when looking through? What is the minimum – the common denominator? – because if necessary this “mistake” does not matter. By the way, my Volvo workshop thinks – the only difference is the interior filter and oil filter. Otherwise there would be nothing. Well, I have read in the meantime that For example, the rib belt + tensioner has to be changed at 90,000 (which has happened twice, by the way). What’s the matter? There can be no two opinions about the tasks at the respective intervals, if Volvo does certainly make specifications? LG
