  • Questions about the XC90

Hello Elchgemeinde! Currently I drive a 2008 MB C 320 CDI 4matic T-model. Actually I am very satisfied, but the car with two kids is just big enough. We “work” currently on the 3rd child. So something bigger must come! Since I have always liked Volvos, I immediately thought of the “Dickelch” XC90. I already know that the Dickelch drives quite differently like the C-class. But I now have other priorities. Place, place and place. So and now to my questions: D5 : Will there also be the new D5 with 200hp in the XC90? Just like the XC60. All-wheel: The C-Class has a permanent all-wheel. So when starting in winter there are no spinning wheels. How fast is the all-wheel system reacting to the XC90. Do you remember a spin until the rear wheels are switched on? For information: I do not drive offroad. I only need the all-wheel on snowy mountain roads in the “Ösi-Land”. a baby seat (class 0), a class 1 seat (with H-Gurten) and a class 2-3 (which uses the vehicle belt). I want to buy the 7 seater, however, should not always have to sit down one of the two “big” at the back. What if the trunk is needed? For example for the child car and the purchase… And there is still a good argument for the XC90. With us in the Ösi-Land there are 2 business packs that rely on the kinetics equipment. In the Prinzep you need so nst nothing and has a really great equipped car. So that’s it! I’m looking forward to your answers!

  • V70 T5 see V70 R

Hello ! Since a friend of mine bought a V70 II AWD with 2.4 T-engine (209 hp) and I could drive it already a few times, I am now interested in a V70, but with me it should also be a bit more “toxic”, not because the 209 hp would not be enough for me, but because I prefer it a bit “exclusive”, so I noticed that besides the 2.4 T-models (i.e. with 200 resp. 209 hp) also a T5 (with 250 hp resp. 260 hp), and also the further The T5 with manual transmission is obviously rarer in the offer than with automatic (I prefer to switch). I read that there are problems with the hand brake cheeks at first (although V70-General), but from the T5 engines one does not actually read too much of special flaws or problems here, unfortunately there is no AWD. Therefore I would be interested in experiences or tips, what you should pay special attention to with the T5. The R was also available with manual transmission, this model would also appeal to me, especially since it was delivered with AWD, but apparently there were some engine problems with cylinder head or engine block, which often only occurred in the year 2004-2005 ?? excessive. It is clear that the R plays from the maintenance over the T5 in another league, but the T5 and the R in offers of Fzg. with lower mileage m. E. after not so hugely apart, so that the R maybe nevertheless, especially since it probably also not so often sold in the Federal Republic of Germany, interesting appears. Therefore, I would be interested here also, if available, experiences and tips regarding the R. Greeting! Stefan

  • 160,000 km inspection DO NOT let the friendly do ?!

With my V70 D5 (120kw) soon the 160,000 km inspection is coming up and I got a first offer at the time. Since also all 4 brakes incl. disks and brake fluid are to be made, my came on an amount of ~1400 Euronen. What do you think of the price on the one hand? On the other hand I think about having the inspection and the repair of a “free” repair workshop to be done, so no “no-name-screw” without master title or the guys with the 3 Buchst The question is now, can or may he also put a stamp in the checkbook as “non-Volvo dealer” ? Other advantages or disadvantages, so that I should go better, even if it is a bit more expensive? Thank you for your opinions … Greeting Jan

  • Only metal screw valves in the rim are permitted from 210 km/h

From 211 km/h only metal screw valves are allowed in the rim Hello, I would be interested in which valves you drive so. According to the excerpt from the report list on pages 6 and 14 it says: quote: “For vehicles with a maximum design speed of more than 210 km/h only metal screw valves are allowed.” Unfortunately I had to find out that rubber valves were used with me, and my customer advisor does not know this clause. Is this regulation with you beka nnt and fulfilled? Greetings Manfred

  • Gasoline heater Volvo vs Webasto

I’m currently thinking about retrofitting a heater with my S80. I don’t know if I really do it yet. Here in the north, really cold days are very rare, but if they are there, it would be quite nice to have one. The heater of the diesel is getting a lot of criticism here. Is the Volvo stand heater for petrolers the same, or has nothing to do with it? I have also requested an offer for a Webasto Thermo Top P or C, according to my friend However, the Volvo SH is also produced by Webasto. Does anyone have any experience in retrofitting the different variants of petrol engines? Marcel

  • Incredible: 17″ Pirelli vs. 17″ Michelin

Today I changed my Pirelli 17 inches for the same big Michelin Alpin 2 winter tires (on Thor rim). I could not imagine how different tires of the same size can be. The Pirelles were hardly mobile at 2.8 bar, because bone hard. After pressure reduction to 2.5 slightly softer, but even stronger sensitivity on track grooves and all unevennesses, just bad, as described here often. The Michelin against: zero reaction to unevenness, More comfortable rolling off at 2.7 bar. I will certainly not use the Pirelle summer. I already told the dealer, let’s see if he can come up with something. A real impression on the part of Volvo to deliver a vehicle with these tires. Greeting Renesomi

  • V70 goes wrong

Hello, I’ve had the problem since now 2 1/2 years that my V70 D5 (EZ: 06/2002, KM: 102000 ) is crooked to the left side ( especially well recognisable at the rear ). At the time I can connect this with a loud crash at the back right when driving a slightly lowered gully cover after a change on winter bikes. I had already asked for this several times in 2 Volvo workshops. The first answer at that time was reasonable: “The 1 cm differences at the rear right ( higher ) and d also front left ( lower ) are still in the tolerance range according to Volvo ” !!! At a 2nd workshop I had also put this point forward, but they had also not found anything. Meanwhile all stabilizers, a coupling rod, the front crossbars, the shock absorbers completely ( incl. spring front ) were replaced, mostly on their own account! This tilting position makes itself stronger in roads, which slightly fall to the left noticeable, the car then tilts much more strongly d i hang wrong in the seat !! the steering behavior / driving behavior has changed noticeably. I will ask my Volvo dealer one last time possible causes of this problem. If Volvo should not be able to tell me these causes, it was that. The car then comes away and that was the first and also the last Volvo ! but I will still be able to write a nice reader’s letter to one or more major automobile magazines and still a little Who Is it possible that someone in the forum still has an idea for finding the cause or how to proceed ? Greetings, beam_me_up2

  • Purchase advice XC90 D5

Hello, I need from you for/reciprocating equipment details: I swirl between a D5 momentum or the summum model. I just can’t decide whether the leather/electrical seat/the Xenon headlight/rings are worth the extra charge. Have now a V70 as premium (electrical seat is nice…) Furthermore, it is clear that I need the rear parking help. Why will the front be installed at the dealer? What costs do I have to reckon with? Do you have it with the darkened windows in the back? Or do you prefer the laminated glass? What’s against the Volvo phone? Do you have the Volvo phone in the V70 and I’m completely satisfied with it? GT yes or no! I would have said yes right away until last week. Now, after reading the forum, I’m disturbed by the possible problems and the extra consumption! Then the painful topic price. what’s realistic at the moment. I’ve been to my dealer 4 weeks ago. I found this conversation very unsettling. First 10% Rabat t- ok can overlook it, but that he then offers a financing with RSV (GMBH) and never bothers to write down my address…I don’t know.. this sales manager only tried when I mentioned that I got my V70 out of the inspection.Maybe I shouldn’t wear sneakers if I want to buy a car for 45T€. Generally, the question is, which dealer in NRW can you recommend. Greetings Harald
