  • XC90 Pedestrian Crash Test ADAC

Hello, today on “spiegel-online”: “Vehicles are as dangerous as moving walls”http://www.spiegel.de/auto/current/0,1518,467437,00.html Well, yes, it’s a bit sobering, if not unexpected. It’s not just about your own safety… and we should all be aware of that. A little consolation after all is the third place under the wide competition. I’m curious if the BMWs are also led in the ADAC magazine in the detailed test. knowing prefers not to put SUV at all – rather not in the test at all than bad in the test? busy2 who is already at bad glance…

  • Purchase advice V70 II 2.4 (petrol) or 2.0 T (LPG)

Hello, I’ve already read a lot here and now I’m about to get a V70. Since my budget (still student) is limited to 450€, the vehicles I’m considering all have between 150-200.000 KM, which in itself should not be a problem with the V70. The weak points, such as crossbars, exhaust and co are also known to me, only price-wise I still have a little hard to assess. In the closer selection are the following 2 vehicles: 1.)http://www.autosc out24.de/DetailsGTM.aspx?… 2.)http://www.autoscout24.de/DetailsGTM.aspx?… For variant 1 I find LPG pretty good, as this would naturally reduce my costs (15,000km/year). I’m not sure, however, whether the car is not overpriced for the price (is anyway VHB) and whether the turbo with the LPG does not cause problems with the mileage. What bothers me with variant 2 is the non-regular checkbook, whereby the last inspection should have been made at 171,000. change at 151,000. What do you think? Are the prices “fair”, which would you prefer or do you have vll. alternatives?

  • Dose holder v70

Moin, have in my V70 II in the center console the “smoker package”. So an asher and an angular storage compartment. Can holder, if you can talk about it, are only in the doors. Does anyone have experience with the beverage holders? I don’t need an asher in the car. But a place to put the can would be good 😉 And you can use it as a storage space. Can anyone tell me what the price for this fee would be? If it’s all too expensive it’s worth it from my self t not. Greetings Thomas

  • I’ll be gone…

Hello, dear ones! Since I can never keep my mouth shut anyway (old occupational disease), almost everyone knew it: On 3.2.2007 I exchanged my V70 for a Lexus GS 430. To finish the speculations about the color (Martin was right): manganese violet – but does not look as nice in natura as it sounds. Rather so dark blue gray metallic. All details can be read here. Thanks for the nice time with you and the support in all Volvo questions. Of course lead If I am active in the MT, and because Toyota/Lexus is not so much lost anyway, I will probably continue to be here with Volvo in the future. Greetings, Hagen

  • What are all these for fans, heaters?

Hello everyone, after an accident have changed my beloved V70 / I 2,5 TDI for a V70 /II 2,4 D5. Since the winter I am only crippled. as soon as I turn off my car there X fans and some heating (smells almost like gas or heating oil) after. Only this morning again, car drove out of the garage and in front of the front door for loading. has often run so about 3 min. and then it went off again like when a heater or fan runs after. It was a short stretch that I drove about 2 – 5 km then everything runs like that. But what mostly bothers me, that it smells very strongly in the garage then also very much something, it can not be clearly assigned (heating oil, diesel, gas or benzene). Here are some more data about my car type; Volvo (S) SNR; 9101 SNR: 85301L Diesel 15.10.2003 Volvo 2.4 D5 Black Edition Dignity I am very happy if someone could give me information about all this for fans, heaters are going after them. Thanks sweetGhost

  • autogas in my Volvo?

I have a Volvo S80 2.4 20V (2000) Now I would like to upgrade to autogas. However, there are fewer suppliers (Switzerland), but I should prefer to do the conversion in Switzerland (because of Tuff, etc). However, when I switch to this system: POWERED 5 ZyL. SLY INJECTION (120 – 140 KW) It costs somehow little, not much more than 2000 Euro. Either the conversion in Switzerland is cheaper, or I have definitely chosen the wrong system. On http://www.autogas-suiss e.ch/Price [email protected] are the other products. Maybe you recommend another product for my Volvo.

  • Sensor for power steering

Hello to each other, At my V70 , year 2002, 100Tkm there has been a groaning, snoring noise at full impact of the wheels. A hint from the forum brought me to look at the filling level in the refill tank for the servo oil. And… look, there was a lack of about 0.5l (defected hose clamp). The noise is now apparently gone. Why is this not indicated by the BC? Not intended or must I now think about the sensor technology in my elk. Thank you for a message and all good ride! scout2

  • Until what year is the 4-speed automatic?

Hi people Ride Volvo S 80 Premium A 2.9l bj. 12/2003 I drove home yesterday and there was just such a nice downhill ride. (I know normal gear back so that the engine breaks my S 80) I made the Geartronic and wanted to see how much gear my car has and see there? 4-speed automatic? I don’t know now if you can make another gear at 1000U/min in because if that would go then the 5e gear would have to go in. But I have found that this is not the f all is and so I now assume that I have a 4-speed automatic or did the gear not go in because my car just rolled out? A 4-speed automatic I find sad in this car although you can not feel this on the highway at 120-130kmh. The consumption would certainly be even lower if I had one more gear and would drive with an average 2000 – 2300 rpm on the highway because at the moment are always so 2500 rpm. If possible I would have bought a 5 gear automatic abe r is an expensive thing The questions. – Was the last (5e gear if he gives it) not going in because my car only rolled out? – Do you find the 4-speed automatic completely sufficient in a Volvo S 80 2.9l with 200ps? – And until what year were the engines manufactured and sold with 4-speed automatic? Gruss jimmy

  • strong speed fluctuations in idle despite new throttle flap

Hello all, I am annoyed and pardoned and hope that maybe someone here has a good idea. At my V70 T5 last year the throttle valve was changed at 120,000km. Symptom then was the indicator “motor power reduced” and I could drag myself to the workshop with 20km/h. Exactly 15 months and 10,000km later (three weeks ago) the engine suddenly ran soooo uneasy that I thought it would rip the engine block out of the brackets. The speeds went between 200 and 1000 up and down, the light flickered, etc. So I went to the workshop. Diagnosis: throttle valve broken. So it was replaced again. This time with 50% cost assumption from Volvo and workshop. Now 3 weeks later exactly the same game with the speeds again. In idle up and down! Problem with this is that unfortunately it only occurs when no Volvo employee is near. In the error memory the throttle flaw perpetuates again. However, it appears end with the hint that immediately after a throttle exchange it can be a phantom error that can be ignored. Unfortunately, I cannot ignore the speed fluctuations. I also do not assume that it is worth installing a fourth throttle flap. Is it possible that someone of you can think of what else to look for?
