  • XC90 RTI spins (no longer)

On the other hand, a few days ago, my RTI suggested a position that was about 40 km to the west. Route entries were possible but rather pointless, as the blue arrow moved mostly on the Rhine So Navi off – Navi: No success Current position showed me some place on this planet – satellite 0, later up to 8 pieces. Then drawer up, DVD out – DVD back in: result see above Then security No. 9 pulled and slept one night over. See there, the position was still wrong, but we had come closer to my real location by about 30 km – but this time moved towards the east “Current position” only indicated 0, finally 8 satellites. Another 5 minutes later the blue arrow was finally there where it belonged. Does anyone know this phenomenon? I have a similar report from XC-Fan in my eye …. Greeting Torsten

  • but only 73 improvements?

Hello, I was on the A1 from Münster coming to Dortmund. There are some small construction sites, because there are working on the bridges. In such a construction site I had a thriving BMW behind me. That was already quite close behind me. So I was thinking “Marc, what 185hp and 400nm, if not for a speedy acceleration out of the construction site!”. Said, done! Tempo 100, 5th gear and full throttle! It works! The BMW is getting smaller, but only up to approx. 140km/h there was a clear “plöpp” from the direction of the engine and the performance was gone. I then dragged myself home with speed 100 then… In addition, a warning message has lighted up. (Pictures coming right away). I immediately thought of the turbocharger hoses (meaning they really so?). But does not have to be a clearly visible smoke cloud behind me? Nix to see. But that has probably explained the second message… Of the alleged 74 improvements I would already explain well for “unvalidly”!

  • MAXICOSI or Römersitz Desaster in the V70 – Square Desaster

Hello Volvo colleagues, this morning we wanted to pick up our twins in the Khs. I bought 2 new Roman seats. Then, at 9:10 am my blood pressure on 200. The Roman seats do not fit on the rear seats, if the front seat is set to the rear and down, the seatrest is set “normal”. So I have to make the seat about 10 cm forward and then I, with 1.92 m height, have the problem that I have to operate the steering wheel between the knees, if I could still pack in between. What do I do!? First I thought, ok, on the middle 3 point belt. What do I have to recognize? The belt is about 10 cm too short, meaning I can’t get into the belt lock. So that’s not possible. I thought that further, then I put the 2nd seat on the passenger seat, then my wife or I can sit on the rear left. Nor can I see, because it doesn’t have an airbag off switch. Even more annoying, the newly ordered one is on the factory belt and the seller could not have ordered the “extra” middle seat. But I could not have bought the option for the factory.

  • Xc90 D5 – Undermotorized?!

Hello together I drove yesterday for the first time the XC90 with the newer diesel engine (185 HP Veriante). The car came directly from the truck and had just 70km on it. I have to say it is a beautiful car, but under a T6 or V8 there is nothing. The acceleration of the D5 is comparable to the acceleration of the S60 T5 in the 5th gear. Is this normal that the diesel engine with at least 400 Nm is so extremely weak? Well and then the total consumption. I drove really comfortably, but I did not bring the average consumption under 15 L from 100km. At Volvo it is officially indicated with about 9.0 L / 100km. The D5 itself may be a good engine, but the XC90 in conjunction with this engine is extremely undermotorized. Gruss Raffi

  • A6 Avant vs XC90

Hi! I’m driving an A6 Avant (BJ03). Unfortunately, no Quattro, which was a problem last winter. That’s why I want a “more winter-friendly” car. I’m fascinated by two vehicles: the XC90 D5 and the Audi Allroad, each with automatic, how can I compare them best? Which is more terrain-friendly? I think the Quattro system is basically superior in winter, right? Terrain suitability is not important to me, it’s only about the use in the snow. Does anyone have comparisons with the maintenance and running costs? After the space in the A6 gets pretty slow, the question arises further whether the XC90 has more space and is better to use? Thanks already in advance for your answers, Thomas

  • Vehicle without DPF still buy???

Hello, I ordered a VW Touareg 2.5 TDI R5 at the end of March. Delivery date should be in June! I don’t want to start a discussion about the car in itself, but I just want to hear as many opinions as possible about whether you would order a diesel without a filter now? In addition, you have to mention that I have received a super discount of approx. 15% on the new price! I think the resale value will not be worse than usual, because if I think how many hundreds of thousands of vehicles were delivered in the last months (WITHOUT DPF), yes, they should all be now suddenly Werlos? Retrofitting possibilities should come from work, that’s already certain! What do you think about it? P.S.: I am addressing this in the Volvo forum, since many people here have already been competent about the problem DPF spitting out!

  • The noise level in the S80

So I’m driving a S80 D5 since 3mon. And I thought…you can put the summer tires on it and everything will be fine. Nix is good ..at 140 KM/H he blows…new exhaust holder…no change. From 160 KM/H the soundscape is as strong as I would have never expected from a “premium” car. Before E class W211 …leise slipping along up to 200 speed. Then CLK Cabrio ..at tempo 160 about exactly as loud with a closed fabric roof as the S80. Is the box generally so loaded with wind and rumbling noise, or did I have only bad luck? Unfortunately my friend did not have a comparison vehicle to test. If so, Volvo is still light years away from the premium. The Honda from my wife is quieter by length of speed. Conclusion: 3 hours. Autobahn over 150 km/H is a goal tour.

  • Delete source: feasible and useful?

Hello guys, I wonder who needs a vehicle here in Germany, where you can always see the source Radio AM when you switch between radio, CD and CD changer. Can you let AM be taken out completely? I don’t see the sense of listening to me with a good FM availability (possibly Radio Vatican? ) Then the selection goes faster and I can concentrate on driving instead of looking for a long time. What’s the point, it just bugs me. I would even hide tape right away because I don’t need it. I’m curious if I have to go to Holland!

  • many new competitors in 05/06 – what does that mean for the Volvo XC90?

In 2005/06, some well-known people will be fighting for European market shares in the 50,000 Euro SUV segment – what does that mean for the XC90 or what Volvo has to do to keep it on the success wave ? Here’s a selection of the most important: – Mercedes new M-Class (and R- and G-Class) – brand new Range Rover Sport – new BMW X5 models – brand new Audi Q7 – Lexus RX400 with hybrid drive – Cadillac with Escalante – etc. My opinion could Volvo remain successful if… – reasonable pricing policy – early delivery of RPF and stronger diesel – little recall actions (quality image even higher) – delivery of the new Haldex and other V8 Schmankerl also for the other models – variable option policy for indoors, outdoor and technology, e.g. higher quality leather equipment, air suspension, cornering light, more badway technology etc. – delivery of all things the others have to offer e.c. ro serially or at least as an option to have to compare to OC’s successors.
