  • Snow chains needed at XC90?

I’ve had snow chains for each of my cars for the last 20 years, and every 3rd year about I needed them when we were skiing in Styria (A). What about the XC90? Has anyone ever needed chains or would have liked to put them on it? Or should you get away with winter bikes like that (I mean especially compared to normal cars)? Which snow “experience” is there with the XC90? After all, it’s not a mechanical one, but ‘just’ an electronic four-wheel drive.

  • Waylight, daytime running light, etc.

Hello Dickelchgemeinde, I have a few questions. I have already tried the SuFu, but I did not really achieve a good result. I also asked him, but he doesn’t work. 1. My Xc 90 Bj 08 has the possibility to fold the mirrors at the push of a button. Can this also be set so that the mirrors automatically fold when locking the vehicle? If so, what is the effort and who can do that? 2. The XC 90 also has a kind of way lighting, the If you use the flash lever when leaving the vehicle, can it not be programmed si that the directional lighting is automatic for a certain period of time, if you lock the vehicle or unlock it again? 3. Has someone installed a day running light on their XC 90, if yes how? I don’t mean these cheap LED parts now. 4. Has anyone of you retrofitted his stand light (with me despite xenon yellow light) with white pears? If yes, please tips, where 5. Then I have another question. I have read every report with a lot of interest since I have my elk (since May 2011). Here I noticed that many write, the consumption is less than 10 l. HOW DOES THAT????????? I have the D 5 with automatic and I can do what I want, according to BC was the lowest 10.1 l. Do you carry your cars over the streets????? So that was a whole lot of questions. Maybe I also get a pa ar Answers. Well, one more thing, I drive over Easter in the Ruhrpott and of course I would like to go to Venlo because of the heating. Is it useful to have the other things set there even if possible?

  • s60 2,5t – watch out for the second-hand purchase?

Hello together, I love a nice s60 2,5 T. The car is from 2003, 1st hand stapled and has 130′ on the clock. The car is sold from private for 5000,- €. Is the price good, too high or rather too low? Which weaknesses should I pay particular attention to? What is the problem with the mentioned throttle flap? How long do the tyres last in normal driving mode? Thanks in advance for expert tips. PS I have already tried the search function

  • Transmission problems…I need expert advice…;-)

Hello everybody, I drive a Volvo XC70, built in 2006, Diesel Combi, automatic. The following, curious problem occurs: As soon as the engine is a bit warmer (e.g. after 20min drive) the circuit in the lower gears does not work well at all. That means the car no longer switches smoothly, but extremely jerky. The car then switches over extremely late, at least from 3000 rpm and then the next gear pops in (so extremely jerky). Someone knows the problem od he knows how to fix it? I don’t know how to explain it better, but it’s really like that. No matter if you give little gas or much…. Thank you for your tips, Stephan

  • Compression Volvo S60

Hello guys, I need a technical advice. my car (Volvo S60, 125 KW, BJ 2005, 58000 KM, of which 35000 on LPG) has recently started off badly. I thought that I found the error because a ignition coil on the 5th cylinder was defective. But that only minimized the problem, but not completely fixed. The car starts better with the new ignition coil, but still not well. The starting process is as follows. After the starter spins a few times, the starter jumps a few times. If I turn it off in D (it’s an automatic), it’s already dying off. Now I was with the friendly one today. They checked the candles (they’re new, they’re not 1000 km) and found they’re crazy, which would indicate too high a combustion temperature ( hilarious, I always thought, then his contacts glowing white). Anyway, you measured the compression. And look, cylinder 1 – 3, compre This is a funny thing, of all things the cylinder with the new ignition coil has the best values. Be a coincidence, the friendly one. And now the friendly one. That would be on the gas system (Prins VSI). The run probably too lean or too fat (real smart). But you can not check there. Or I had driven without FlashLube (is also installed). One has to rework the cylinder copper. Cost approx. 3000,- Euro. Somehow I don’t trust the roasting. I did not trust the roasting. e read that the compression in Ottomotoren idR is not the cause of start problems. But the friendly one saw this differently. Hmmm. Who should believe there. I also read, compression should be tested with warm engine. My idea is the following. Through the new ignition coil on the 5 cylinder this candle just ignites better. The other 4 ignition coils are just a little sluggish on the chest. (Zündspulen should be burdened more strongly by the gas operation). The oil film has been better sealed there. The neighboring cylinder has also been heated more strongly, which is why it also has comparable better values. And cylinder 1-3 did not get anything. Can that be? What do you do? I think I will go to a free workshop and let it measure compensation once more. Does that make sense? LG Lothar PS. The same contribution is also available in the forum Gas Fuels

  • Wide rear seat

Hello, I am currently driving an MB Viano, which is a disaster in terms of processing and has to go before it mutates to the savings box. What comes after that? We have 3 children, 3+3+7, but do not want to drive around with a sharan. Either bus or car. So a combo. The problem with combos is the width of the rear seat. Volvo V70 and Mercedes E seem to have the widest and I could imagine that our child seats Concord Lift Evo PT fit on the seat. But I’m not sure. The seats are at the bottom 43cm wide, at the top 48cm. Does someone have experiences with 3 seats on the back bench or would someone be so nice to measure his bench, possibly also with indication of the belt position? Thank you for your answers Greeting Hartmut

  • Is there something wrong?

What do you think of this offer:http://suche.mobile.de/…/showDetails.html?… According to the DAT rating, the dealer purchase value is 9083 Euro! Is this a bargain now or have I overlooked anything? I think feverishly. The location is also 266 km away from my place of residence. But you don’t have much choice with the model…. I would have a used car check from the TÜV or Dekra carried out before, of course, if it is allowed.

  • Volvo XC90 wheel bearing rear

Hello! Would you like to know if it is normal that at 15000km and after 1 year the rear wheel bearings are in the bucket.Although they have been replaced on Grantie, I find that very special. The master has said something about conceptional errors? Is there already new map material on DVD for 2006? MfG

  • Heico chip tuning and the tires (senseless) ?

According to Heico (TÜV-Nord) report, after the chiptuning of the current D5 from 185 to 210 hp, the tyres must also be changed! They prescribe that you have to drive from now on with “V” tyres (up to 240km/h), although the top speed is 203km/h and actually a “H” tyre (up to 210km/h) should be enough. So you better leave your fingers away from Heico-Tuning, because you can’t support such nonsense or? !!

  • Axle sensor/giver for xenon light range control

Hello Elchgemeinde. If you had a question about the encoder for the lighting range regulation (charge dependent) for Xenon lighting. The reason for my question is this: Drive an XC90 with level regulation and have no problem with the lighting system, but I suspect that this sensor/donor could have a combination function for the lighting range regulation and could also be responsible for the load-dependent braking force distribution on the rear axle. Only no one could help me so far (large shoulder shrugs also at the friendly) Also the circuit plan allows no conclusions in this regard. The fact is that the rear brake discs in normal operation (without constantly driving around with the half house stand in the area) do not freebrake and just rot over time. So now you are on it !!!!!!!
