  • No ordinary stench but a condensing corrosive stanchion

no,I have a really strong corrosive smell from the ventilation. It smells like ammonia, where your own air immediately stays away when breathing in and can no longer breathe. It also stings quite tremendously in the nose and in the neck. What can I do?

  • Wagon “swimming” & chassis noise

Vehicle: S60, mileage 100,000KM, drive the car for 6 years in first possession without problems. For several weeks the following symptoms occur: – extremely side wind sensitive from 120KM/h, from 160KM/h dangerous. Car “floats” in the lane. – clean curve line from 160KM/h practically non-mobile, constant steering corrections necessary. Alternating curves from 160KM/h dangerous. – Cars now slings even minimally when changing lanes or braking in curves in urban traffic. – Dry “Klock” Geräu condition: – checkbook maintained at Volvo, first possession. – V&H damper at 70%, just tested on the test bench at DEKRA. – transverse handlebars and upper engine bearing new at approx. 65,000KM. – track rod head just renewed at inspection, suspension V&H remeasured. – steering gear probably in the case of inspection on stage at least no game during shaking on VR. – tyres now new summer tyres, Luf ddruck i.o., no improvement over winter tires. – otherwise no abnormalities / no further findings. Volvo workshop: “This can be anything possible”, “This can be expensive”. Does anyone have a little more idea of chassis and knows how to rationally limit the error without which the planless parts exchange??? I will definitely not get involved in that.

  • XC90 – which motorization is “usable”?

Currently my parents are driving an S80 I with 2.0T. We are satisfied with this, however, my father has long considered the XC90. Now he asks me which motorization is most recommended. Well, my parents want NO diesel. D5 or 2.4d fail immediately! So the question is: Which gasoline engine is optimal in the XC90 with normal driving mode (rarely more than 120 km/h) as well as some caravan train time? My parents say they don’t need 200 p s (or more) but it should already be useful. I would rather have a T6 in it, but unfortunately my parents are not looking for me So the question: which machine can be recommended? Is there the 3.2l R6 also to buy in the XC90? DEN would my parents probably also buy… Or was there the normal 2.9l with approx.200 ps? Can one convert some of the machines to gas (keyword gas-proof)? If yes, which one? Thanks for the tips…

  • Volvo V70 II automatic transmission

Hello, errors come every now and then. It sounds as if the gearbox is switched off, then error engine maintenance, emission maintenance and then “brake motor off”. Revometer goes to 0 and speedometer to 0. I stop motor off and after a few minutes I start and it runs round again. I get out of the battery and wait 10 minutes. The errors are gone. After 3 weeks or 2 days the error comes back. Was already in the Volvo workshop and have the errors a communication between ABS control unit and engine control unit faulty. But what does this have to do with the transmission ? Does one have an explanation ? Greeting Rupert

  • V70D5 MY2007: Change particle filters at 120,000km?

Hi there, was a summer tire earlier at my Volvo workshop. I picked up from a conversation that also with my V70D5 MY2007 at 120,000km the DPF has to be exchanged. Is that really so? What does that cost? Are there jaemanden, who continues without an exchange and can tell me his experiences about it? Thank you, greeting Markus P.S.: The search does not give any informative information about it…

  • Thanks for the nice time with Moose…äh EUCH!

Call me a traitor, a defector or just think of your part But it remains true: after 11 years as a moose driver I now let myself be pushed through the area by a Bimmer with three letters. I thank you for the many helpful contributions, which have also often been fun during the easy reading and will certainly continue to visit you from the E60 & E61 forum! LG T.

  • Your opinion > XC70 > 200.000 km

Hi Swedes driver, I just have an XC70 D5, EZ 12/2002 in mind with respectable 208,000 KM on the clock. But I’m very surprised what the XC70 still costs, although all of you talk about broken used car prices. I’d like to ask you for your opinions on the offer and experiences / assessments of the XC70. Is this, for example, considerably more expensive than a V70 D5 at the running costs? Can you buy it even more confidently, or do you possibly put the piggy bank without ground in the Garage? XC70, EZ 12/2002, 208.000 KM, Premium, 1 Hd. Checkbook complete Volvo. Sale by Volvo dealer. Green-metallics, RTI, telephone, leather… except parking aid complete. DPF (used) would be negotiable – so green. Condition according to age very well maintained. From 1st hand and driven by older gentleman. I think 12.000 EUR would be possible – possibly less. DAT says HEK 11.000 EUR, ADAC says HVK 13.000 EUR, only I am skeptical in how far these price figures today still the Reali THX Magic

  • Is Four-C worth it?

Hello Forum, I have read the entry-level thread to Four-C, but wanted to get a current opinion of you: I’m basically concerned with the unsightly effect that with my D5 (163PS) the traction on the front wheels leaves a lot to be desired when speeding up. Now I think for my next V70 (with 185PS or 2.5T) about ordering with four wheel and / or four-C to eliminate this effect, among other things. Thanks for your tips, Sebi70

  • “Leather” in XC90 the X-te. Warning!!!

After I had cleaned my vehicle thoroughly from the inside again today, I thought I could do good to the “leather”. Armed with my well-proven Sonax leather care, I also went to work. It was immediately noticeable that the “leather”, not like other vehicles, did not take care of the leather at all. Only under vehement rubbing could the lotion move a little into the undefined surface to be massaged. After I had been through all the seats, I started again from the front to polish the treated surfaces according to the instructions. I then saw that the leather care stripes had left on the “leather” which could not be polished out at all. I don’t know what it looks like with the “”original Volvo” “leather” care”, but before use, it was commercial. I can only warn you about leather care for leather, which probably does not seem suitable for “leather”. Perhaps the “”Original Volvo “Leather” care”” is also only a disguised artificial leather surrogate extract cleaner pile and therefore works better!? I have definitely drawn my consequences from it and will not do anything at the “leather”. Greeting Martin, who is now squeaking on his real leather desk chair, because the Sonax leather care was well received by the jeans.

  • Line input and hands-free for SC-805 (V70)

Another question about my “new” V70: I have no hands-free device in the car, but there is a microphone and the antenna mounted on the mirror. There is also a speaker in the passenger footroom – no idea if it belongs to the normal sound system or to a possible hands-free device. If I see this correctly, the car is prepared for a hands-free device. Can you upgrade the Volvo hands-free device cheaply or (even better) there are e.g. Bluetooth hands-free devices that can be attached to the existing antenna + the microphone? I would also like to retrofit a line-in cable (iPod connection would also be nice, but not necessarily necessary). In the V70 is a SC-805 radio, which has a CD-changer input (but a CD-changer is not connected – I don’t need it either). What possibilities are there to get a mini-klink/cinch? Thanks already for your help!
